Warframe

Ohhh, that sucks...

Loki Prime and Volt Prime under construction - managed to get the Volt System on a radshare, but I caved - bought the Loki System off the market (for less than I had offered in a buy-order. Win! (Those years of playing the markets in EVE are paying off ). Never really used Loki much, after getting him to 30 - I’ll give him a better shakedown, this time. Volt, otoh, has had some extensive use - he’s my go-to for PUG Eidolons, and the occasional Fissure Captures (running rapid relic redemptions).

Now that Plague Star is over, I’m back to cracking relics for high-ducat value items for Baro’s Tennocon relay - I need everything!!!!!

Loki's the fast man for captures. On a really good map I can break 50 seconds. I've seen a few Nova's that can do a little better with really good teleports, but in the end we're both waiting on the Volt to show up.

And I don't understand what Volt is adding to the Eidelon hunts. I get that shooting through his shield is supposed to do more damage, but when I compare the numbers with vs without volt shield I don't see a difference at all.

Interesting - I take it you’re (Loki) switching places with enemies far ahead?

(Volt) Yeah.... I’ve hardly noticed much of a difference, but I’m probably not doing it “right” - I dunno. It should be +50% base damage (as electric), and +200% crit damage, but I’m not sure that it’s really doing that... maybe... probably? People do seem to get behind the shield to shoot, when they notice that I’ve dropped them.

Re: Eidolons - I tried doing the Chroma thing, but my brain doesn’t seem to grok him, so I stopped. I tried to Oberon, it was a long time ago, but since I’m only doing terry, Oberon’s healing isn’t as important as “kill it fast” (same excuse for Trinity). So, Volt is my default. I don’t know how comfortable I am with trying to go for the triples... I get downed enough on little old terry.

I'm just running fast with some speed mods, with an eye to parkour well and react to the tile layout. I think the sprint speed ends up around 1.6 I think, which for me is ideal. I couldn't do it on the infested corpus ship tileset with all its snags.

Wisp is also probably a good candidate. Her speed boost power feels about right, and her base sprint speed isn't infuriatingly slow.

Yeah... 6 months in, and my parkour is still terrible - I CONSTANTLY get snagged on EVERYTHING: door-frames, railings, the little lips they put on ledges, trees, shoelaces..... When I get a ridiculous Volt speed-boost, I try to stay on the ground, and not sprint... I waste more time getting caught on any of the above, or just smack into random walls.

Ok. I have the Inaros quest. Thanks for hinting me towards that! Still going to play some Sunken City tonight instead. Hope I don't forget to spend all the cred before the current nightwave ends over that...

Can someone explain the structure and goals of this game for someone who has never played? Or provide a link that does.

I have an itch for a persistent progress style game on Switch. Is this more like a traditional MMO or a Destiny style game?

Hmm. The game is mostly played in 1-4 player cooperative missions, that you do over and over in randomized locations in order to get stuff. Lots and lots of stuff. There are a couple open world maps (still 1-4 players), and a few hubs for players to socialize in, but most of the game is instanced. There is some leveling up and some rep grinding, but not quite like other MMORPGs. And there are a few cinematic story missions and they are amazing.

Way closer to Destiny than WoW, but Warframe is definitely its own thing.

The only warning I'd give is to be prepared to use outside sources like advice from other players and the wiki. The game doesn't explain itself well, and I think its on purpose. I kinda love it but others might get frustrated.

I found this

YouTube playlist helpful. I also found this podcast good from a new players perspective.

Also, if you're on PC, you're more than welcome to hop on when I'm playing in the evenings. Usually Wink is around as well.

The iFlynn guides are great. Also helped me a lot when I got started even though I found them a little too late.

I’d also recommend NoSympathyy (yes 2 y, thecnically 3 y, but I meant “at the end”) - mostly on Twitch, but he creates informative YouTube videos, too. He’s very much a “Warframe scientist” - he will test, analyze, and explain all kinds of game mechanics, for all our benefit :). I’ll watch his videos of parts of the game that I don’t understand - Eidolons, Zaws, kitguns...

If it's something even YOU don't understand, I'm completely hosed.

iFlynn does those as well. If i remember correctly he had a spreadsheet for the different Zaw combination damage values.

For the Inaros quest I had to google five different things just to get the quest and make it past the second quest step.

Looks like that's going to keep me busy for a while.

Yeah, unless I've already planned out what I'm going to do for my gaming session, I usually have another screen open for research.

A tip, whenever you go to the tomb to turn in the urns, bring scanners and maybe helios, lots of kavats spawn and you can get a couple dozen gene scans to hatch your own or build khora.

Just hit MR12. I crafted a Rubico Prime to celebrate.

Also more Warframes: Mesa Prime, Equinox Prime, Loki Prime, and Revenant. It seems odd that the Primes are so much easier to get than the regular frames.

Reminder that you can get a free Nekros Prime by linking your Warframe account and watching Tennocon on Twitch on 6th July (as well as details on the Empyrean update).

Depends on the prime. If it's vaulted, not so much
I'm still trying to get loki and volt prime before they go back in at the end of rhe week.

I’m just gonna leave this here....

Which, in turn, led me to

.

I'm not sure if I even need to play any other games now.

Info for all the tennocon drops and twitch schedule for Saturday.

Don't forget they're giving away Necros Prime today during TennoPrime!

You have to watch between 1800-1900 EST for at least 30 minutes

The Lotus Ephemera is any other time for 30 minutes.

I logged in but it looks like the stream stopped before I was there for 30 minutes. That's a pretty small window. Ugh. Maybe I'll get credit for the 15 or 20 I was there.

It all looked so good. I really need to get moving. Finally at Baal, once I complete that then onto Saturn.

I also did get my Nekros Prime and Lotus Ephemera already.

I got the steam token for Nekros Prime. I guess I actually need to download/play Warframe through Steam to redeem it? I generally just use the Warframe launcher directly.

Log into the game however you want. Once you're in you'll have an email waiting stating it's been added.

Whew me too on Switch.

Is it just me or does the rail jack stuff come off as very Archwing like? Not to mention the actual Archwing part of it.
