Post a Picture - Something You Created!

Had an opportunity to go to a local track and do some driving and photography.

Decided to take a few of my shots and go ham with 'em in ways I normally don't.

Love the M3... that is a keeper for sure.

Thanks! Yeah, I really like that one.

Today I had my mind blown:

Wow, Pyx. I wish I had a drop of your incredible creativity. So good!

Honestly, Pyx. You should be monetizing your art. You have worked hard to hone your craft, and your skills are on a much higher level than the vast majority of art-hobbiests.

I use to work for a few different game dev studios. That was 20 or so years ago. I remained friends with a few of the artists. They all make a living doing freelance art for games and ad agencies. And they’re rich now. Haha. This is a very real possibility for you.

I'll be redoubling my efforts on that front after I get some surgery out of the way in September. For now, until I deal with that I'm just plugging away on small stuff, and working on more things to stick up on DMs Guild. (second mini dungeon module is currently underway!)

It's a different world today though for freelance illustrators, sadly, compared to 20 years ago. Especially if you live in basically the middle of nowhere.

I am, as always, open to commissions and offers though! Particularly if it's longer term jobs. I'd love to have a nice meaty board game to work on or something

Pyx, that’s good to hear. I’m confident that you will find success if you stay on your current path.

So now that I got my book back from some people i'd lent it to for a wee look, I thought it was time i set to work fleshing out and developing this dang RPG idea into something that's actually playable. So... started work on that today.

First up i figured it would be a good idea to work on character creation and expand that first. so, first up was character 'careers' (kind of like backgrounds in 5e). In the original book, these were not much more than RP flavour...

but I thought that needed a bit more work, so I've expanded these into categories and sub-categories, adding some more statistic adjustments depending on the career chosen, and also incorporating an Inception style "signature item / Anchor", which doubles as a unique 'magical' trinket that each player can pick or randomly roll for (kinda like the semi-unique trinkets you get from character creation in Dark Souls games).

Here's an example!

I've finished all of these now, so i've moved on to upgrading the avatar archetypes section by giving them more unique abilities specific to their 'class'...

...and a quick WIP of the new introduction to the character creation section (still needs to be fleshed out)

was bored, so started making cute D&D monster stickers

Very cute!

thanks

one more before bed - decided to challenge myself to make a cute Stirge

Those are fantastic. I am surprised no one has approached you to do on of those as a tattoo

They'd make great stickers or even monster tokens / standees. I'd cover a notebook with them. That gelatinous cube looks so pleased with itself.

I'm planning on setting them up as stickers, at least. I just need to do a few more and then figure out a way of selling them!

speaking of...

I think they would make great monster tokens/pawns.

Also do-able.

I really love the carrion crawler!

They're back! IN POG FORM!

last one for tonight...

IMAGE(https://smackfolio.files.wordpress.com/2019/07/8-bulette.jpg?w=531)

and YES I realise Bulette's don't traditionally have lava-drool, but maybe they DO in MY campaign. eh?

Just as an experiment i've thrown up one of my cute monsters up on Redbubble to see if i get any response and/or if i get anything from it worth talking about (you only get a few pennies per sticker sold this way, realistically).

If you know anyone who collects stickers and or likes cute D&D monsters, maybe send them this way! Thanks!

(I've removed all the extra text from this, so it's just the adorable Jelly Cube on a nice clean circular sticker).

It's adorable. Good luck!

I made something!

It's part of a logo for my wife's nerdy bakery. I made it from scrach in a vector drawing program. It's supposed to be me and my wife as cupcakes. Obviously.

Very cute and I wouldn't say nerdy at all... (needs more pew pew)

Whoops! Disclaimer, I did not make this cake, I was posting it in relation to the cupcake comment. My bad!
