Giant Bomb Bomb-All

God that was annoying.

Naw, he conceded those things when called out on them. It was spectacularly dumb, and coupled with his alleged love of the series and its creator, he really showed his ass.

Listening to old Bombcasts - Ryan and Patrick era. Ryan is still really good at being an MC. Brad is okay but man Ryan could throw in a quick comment and turn on to another topic. Jeff was less saltier too.

He was and always will be the best.

You would thing that, after all these years, I would be tired of Lockdown.

Never.

If you value your ears or your time, don't bother listening to My First E3 Three Episode 1. They recorded it during dinner and you hear lots of gross chewing sounds and Ben talking with his mouth full. About halfway through the episode Jeff comments to Abby and Ben about how much people hate it when you eat while recording a podcast, which just prompts them to eat more aggressively. It is gross and bad, and doing it intentionally as some sort of ironic joke doesn't make it any better. Also, not that My First E3 was every especially substantive, but there was nothing worthwhile in here, no funny jokes, no sincere discussion, no chatting with some person we don't usually hear from. It was my misfortune to set this as my morning commute listening this morning so that I wasn't in a place where I could safely switch to something else.

I have great respect and sympathy for the misophonic among us, and I certainly second the recommendation to stay away if that's you.

However, as a person who isn't particularly bothered by such things, I thought it was exactly in line with the fun, light hearted behind the scenes/slice of life stuff they've done on that particular podcast over the past two years.

You can always tell when Jeff is excited about a game or angry about something because there is a filter in his head that malfunctions and he uses the "f" word constantly. In describing playing the Doom Eternal demo he uses the term "f*cking" every 4th word. No real point I'm making, just a funny observation after fifteen years listening to him.

I noticed that too right as I walked by my three-year old as I was getting a drink...

Yeah, I definitely have to be careful with my almost three year old. On our weekend shopping trip, I used to listen to podcasts in the car over the speakers, but got tired of having to pre-check what ones were up next to make sure none of the swear-y ones were coming up. Even at double speed, I don't trust that he wouldn't pick something up.

Now, I just put in one of my wireless ear buds for the drive, and turn on the radio for him.

Dan, the self-described major Zelda and Nintendo fan, said that Link's Awakening is the second worst Zelda.

I can't.

It’s a valid assessment.

Link's Awakening has a special place in my heart, but having replayed it within the past year, it's a little rough to go back to. Part of that's due to the limitations of the system-- having only two buttons means a LOT of menu time switching items, and the non-scrolling screens means the Peggy Boots doesn't improve the pace of play nearly as much as in ALTTP-- but some of it isn't.

Whoever designed Eagle's Tower can take the next bus directly to the center of the sun.

I can think of at least three that are demonstrably worse, though.

Monster.

Link's Awakening is the only Zelda game I've ever played to completion.

My hope is that the remake maintains the weird quirky nooks and crannies of the original-- dumb stuff like Maron grabbing the crane game operator or getting your filename changed to Thief after jacking the bow-- while improving the moment-to-moment gameplay.

It gets changed to Thief even if you load a save. Boy that was annoying.

Hey man, don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

I learned how to steal from Link's Awakening and now I'm out here on these streets.

I generally love 3D games and can take or leave the 2D ones. Despite owning the SNES one multiple times I can’t find the enjoyment. So I’m with Dan on this one. Burned out on Awakening on the 3DS eShop after a very short amount of time.

I think everyone should rank their favorite zelda games from best to worst.

Link's Awakening

That's a novel idea. Do you think it might extend to other franchises like (just to pull a name out of the air) Final Fantasy?
