Warframe

I have to lol at “turn off the talkies” - on the last part of the mission for Chroma... I had muted Ordis, long before and I missed his instruction to SCAN Chroma... I failed that mission waaaaay too many times, because of it.

Anybody have a good list of "weapons to keep" or something?

Inventory getting full again and I'm trying to trim down. Some of them I don't want to get rid of because I used the list of weapons needed for crafting other weapons and those things took forever to make. But I'm not sure which of them are actually good and worth keeping.

I mean there's a few things I've enjoyed as I leveled them that I'll probably keep no matter what. But I've noticed some don't hold up in higher missions. I don't know if that's the weapons or just my mods suck still.

At the same time I have about 10 melee weapons that are finished crafting and just sitting in the foundry that I haven't got around to claiming and trying yet because full inventory. I'd like to do those in the other order, just burn through the ones I won't keep for the affinity and save the "keepers" for later.

Don't have list, but, heres some good questions to ask
Does it have a high (my threshold is 20 for fast firing, 25 for slow, but ymmv) crit or status chance.
Do you enjoy using it.
Does it do decent dps of damage types you want.
Does it have a special ability that is useful to you.
Do you have a riven for it.

The more times you answer yes the more valuable the weapon probably is for you.
Warframe wiki is invaluable for this.

That's probably a good idea. And I've seen a few comments that any weapon can be viable with the right mods.

I have 4 or 5 riven mods but I haven't really tried to unlock them yet. Just wacky requirements, a couple of which I don't even understand because I guess I don't know the name for units or vehicles. One about killing so many enemies before they hit the ground. Maybe it's troops from those aerial vehicles I've seen in that one defense map? And another about headshots while in archwing mode, which I guess I have to do on the plains or fortuna. I've still never went back to those after accidentally stumbling into Cetus way back when I started and was MR2 or so.

So yeah maybe add unlock riven mods to the list of things I need to do from last week.

Tycho’s checklist is really good. It’s hard to know the “feel” until you use it, though.

Primaries like: Amprex, Ignis, Rubico, Stradavar, Lenz, Dread, and Soma tend to show up on ”what’s good” lists.

Secondaries are dominated by Kitguns, I don’t think anything else compares. Pyrahna (Prime, especially) is quite good. I see the Atomos, and Pox used quite a bit, too.

Melee: again probably dominated by Zaws... polearm versions, especially - reach is king. Orthos Prime was my first ever prime weapon - the relics seem to be very common - it’s pretty good, for starters. Tatsu felt great, with only a potato. I used the Pupacyst for a long time, because it was my first melee riven (second ever riven).

Rivens with the “right stats” will turn (almost?) any weapon from “meh to wow” - +crit chance, +crit damage, +status chance, +raw damage - are the most commonly sought after modifiers, for most weapons. Getting a nice negative on them is great (having one negative stat means the positives will be better than they would otherwise be)... my Pupacyst Riven has -puncture, which is amazing because it doesn’t do any puncture, anyway

Make sure to read the unlock requirement “properly” - sometimes you don’t have to be the one to do “the thing”, sometimes you have to be the one to do it, sometimes solo, sometimes it’s cumulative, sometimes you have to do it all in one mission... I’ve had “find all 3 caches on a sabotage while wearing the Hobbled key” - my teammate found all of them. If there’s a “enemy level requirement”, you can tell right at the start of the mission, because the riven’s requirement will pop up on screen at mission-start.

I don't suppose anyone (playing on PC) has the Saryn Prime Systems Blueprint stashed away somewhere safe? It was the common drop of the set from the 6th anniversary relics, finally exhausted them all tonight and I ended up with two of the Chassis Blueprints, despite that being the rare drop, all the other uncommon bits, but not a single common System Blueprint. Go figure.

I'd happily trade the Chassis Blueprint or something similar for the System Blueprint.

I still have 4 relics with one in it.... I’ll be on Wednesday evening (Central), if you wanna run some Neos. I’m WinkGWJ in PC Warframe.

I think that'll be right when I'm at work Thursday morning here unfortunately! But I'll add you on Steam anyway, might be able to sort something out for a weekend.

I suppose I could run them myself, and we can figure out a trade, another time. (If it drops)

Thanks. I really loved the regular Orthos when I stumbled on it early and easily grabbed all but one prime part when I was just starting out with relics. But I never have got that last piece. Nice to know my gut feeling was right, that weapon was just fun.

And I never heard of kitguns until now. This game is just systems on top of systems, it never ends.

You’ll need to get to... 3rd or 4th rank(?) with Eudico (in Fortuna) to access the better parts from (insert name of the one that talks to herself). Building one can be a bit of a pain, but 99% of the time, I’m only equipped with my Catchmoon (with crit-riven), and my Cyath (Zaw, polearm, with riven). My primary slot is for levelling a weapon to 30, without even thinking about it (because I blew a huge pile of credits on weapon BPs in the market) for the MR.

can a zaw really beat a gram prime out without including rivens? i'm still aways from getting my first kitgun/zaw. lots of rep and mats to grind still.

When i last was paying attention zaws were far and above the best melee if you could build them correctly.

Finally done with Pago, Kuva Fortress (Spy) - Harrow Neuroptics is mine! I spent almost 100% of my time last night working on it. Lifetime total of somewhere around 40 C-rotations - Wiki says it should take 8-9 runs (LIES!!), with a nearly guaranteed in 58+/-19, so I at least got it on the low end of that spread. Harrow is finally cooking. This leaves me with - Barruk, Hildryn, and Wisp as the only frames I don’t have (I still only have the Primes for Chroma and Mesa).

With the addition of BP buybacks to Simaris’s shop (Yay!) - I’ve sold off the basic versions of Mirage and Limbo, because I have the Prime versions. I’ve also sold off the basics of Equinox, Saryn (as much as they were pita to farm), and Excalibur (because I have Umbral Excal).

I’ve also finally accumulated the 20 Eidolon shards to reach the second-last Quill level, and enough gyromag systems to hit level 2 with Vox Solaris - go me

And I’m stuck on Switch on the Defeat Chroma fight so I’m going back and working in MR and other frames so that hopefully I can burn that fight down. With what I have I can’t seem to get through the waves easily. Looking at my XB profile, I remember using completely different things that are no longer accessible. I also can’t wait to get some pubbies for the required interception mission to open Saturn.

I also need to find Nitain(sp?) Extract, Mutagen and more mods. I’d love to Ducat farm, but that’s completely secondary.

Nitain is rough to get right now, main source is through events. Mainly open world stuff. I think ghouls on the plains missions can reward some.
As for chroma, I'd recommend bringing excalibur, set up for duration and efficiency so you can spam your stun and wreck him before he gets powers going. If you have a different frame with a stun that could work too.

Yeah it seems like when I started, nitain popped up in the weekend alerts all the time but it doesn't do that anymore. I had a nice stash of 20 or so built up on Switch before they killed it.

There was an alert with 10x Nitain Extract last weekend, owing to DE being delayed in starting the next Nightwave. Sadly I was away from home and missed it. It can drop from the Ghoul bounties on Plains of Eidolon (I know because I got one as a reward one time) but it's a rare drop I think.

Once Chroma shows up... don’t you just scan him? I remember trying to fight him, over and over, but I don’t think you can do any damage to him.... Excalibur’s Blind might make that final phase easier to get him scanned.

If I had Excalibur I’d consider it. I’m on the final defense mission, and based on the layout I’m having trouble getting to Chroma. I was using Frost Prime and Soma Prime once upon a time. One of the more irritating things about having to start over - I keep expecting to get through things as easily as I did before.

I’ll grind out Rhino, and some other weapons (Hek, some secondaries) and get my MR up to see where that takes me.

you guys missed the glory days where we ended up with over 200 Nitain while they were working through the Twitch broadcast rewards.

Okay,, it’s the “getting to the point where he shows up” that’s the issue... I feel like I used a high duration and range Nyx...(? it’s been a long time), for Chaos, and a Hek. I don’t think I had Frost yet. Limbo might work too.

Harrow is a beast! I’m still getting the hang of his abilities, but I find myself using all 4 of them often (maybe not the 4 quite as much).

I’ve built him fairly balanced, with a slight bias to strength. Mission starts - 3 for as much energy on kill as it will let me (from start it caps at about 10/kill); as power comes back - spam 1 to chain enemies in place, get many headshots gain energy and huge amounts of shield, pop 2 to trade 2000+ shields into huge heal-on-kill ability. Oh, are you surrounded by enemies... pop 4 to prevent all damage (you and allies) for a few seconds, and the more you’ve prevented, the bigger your damage-boost via crits.

I’ve never felt like I was in danger with him - his overshield is nuts, ability to get energy back at a ridiculous rate (I usually stop the “timer” at 20-25 energy/kill), party-healing, and an “oh sh*t” damage prevention.... he’s great. I’m going to check out what he has for augments, but I can’t think of anything that he “needs”.

Can Harrow avoid or remove status effects from himself?

any pc players ranking up meridian, hexis and suda? i'm max with perrin and new loka and about to start working on red veil so I'd be very much up for some syndicate mod trading.

Danjo Olivaw wrote:

Nothing like Saryn’s Molt, but I would think that his 4 - prevents incoming damage to you and nearby allies, and converts it into a crit-bonus - would also work on any status effect damage.

I've got Steel Meridian, Hexis, and Suda all ranked up. I think the only weapon I'm missing now is the sancti castanas? Will trade for weapon bits and mods though.

I may have to give Harrow another run at some point. Its wild to me how this game has so much going on that you can pretty easily write something off at first, but then come around later and find its crazy good. I think I was put off Harrow because his visual motif is both extremely weird and executed pretty on the nose with his animations. The dude makes a cross with his dual pistols to ward off demons in a post-singularity world.

Yeah I hated the starting Excal frame but I also had Trinity Prime for free at the start which is great. I wished I had taken Volt at the time.

But now that I grinded out Volt in dojo it's pretty disappointing in a different way. Compared to Ember the offense is lacking and Frost is just amazing for defense. Volt has speed boost? Meh. Seems the Volt it's weakest of the elemental frames so far.

At least there are tons of frames to try. I've yet to be bored.
