2019 NBA Catch-All - It’s Fantastic

Yeah when I posted that the Raptors were up 3 with like 3 minutes to go. At this point we have to believe they will win the series right? Three wins in a row is pretty convincing. 24-6-6 is decent for Giannis but I think the Raptors are happy if those are his numbers.

Kawhi Leonard is a terrifying basketball player. Just incredibly dominant.

Exactly.

Get Aaron Rodgers on the sidelines of the Bucks games howling at Kawhi.

I only use him as I have no clue who else would be the Milwaukee super Fan.

David Bakhtiari

This tweet is enough for me to root for the Bucks.

It’s not hating. I just think it’s lame and he should get tossed for getting in the face of players. The average fan would.

Why pretend he’s an average fan?

Average fan doesn’t have this article on NBA.com.

Blind I like your comment about old curmudgeons, and it took me on a tangent.

It struck me as I watched the Philly vs Toronto series that Toronto is a 'young' team, and Philly has been around for a long time, as evidenced by the makeup of the crowd. I was surprised to see so many grey hairs in the fans in Philly. I mean, that guy with the sign is like full on elderly. Toronto's crowd is mostly younger, but the day is coming. I mean, give it 20 years and I'll be retired, and still a Raptors fan, with grey hair (or no hair, let's be honest).

Just reading about the history of the 76ers and man. They had Wilt Chamberlain, '64-'67, Julius Irving '76-'87, Charles Barkley '87-'92.

Toronto doesn't have a team until '93. (Correction, '95 is the first season for the team)

It should be squashed there too. Baseball seems to finally be taking tiny steps towards allowing players to visibly enjoy themselves during the game, I hope that continues. And the NFL should probably just go away altogether.

That’s perfect

Here's more:

Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!

That was a good game

Thought it might be over after that Kawhi dunk but the Bucks fought back.

Congratulations, Raptors fans. This team has started to contribute more up and down the lineup. It will be fun to see them in the finals. And to see how the fans react.

Spoiler:

Except for Drake

And to the Bucks fans, this team will be back. If Giannis develops a 3 in the offseason they might win it all.

It is still like a dream the morning after.

What a game. It did not look good at the start, but we came from behind and sealed the deal. Calm and cool, just like Kawhi.

Sorry Bucks fans. It just wasn't the year. Giannis is amazing though. He's only going to get better.

Then Kawhi to to Golden State this offseason.

Don't jynx them!

Best description I've seen online: For Toronto, this is going to be like when you stayed out way too late with your friends raising hell when you were a kid, and came home to a parental asskicking, but it was still worth it.

Probably. But they also get to play for the NBA championship.

I’ve come to believe that one of the underrated things a team in the NBA can do is keep competing. It would have been really tempting to get rid of Lowry, Ibaka and everyone else and rebuild. Instead they took a chance on one year of Kawhi, fired the Coach of the Year and kept themselves competitive and rolled the dice. And they have a shot now.

It would be legacy building for Kawhi to lead a team to a title in 1 year. I would like to see that. And he could leave with a clear conscience for LA after that. Or he could stay because he learned to love Toronto. Either way I think that would be a cool story, so I’ll be rooting for it.

Either way I’m glad they chose to compete and I hope they’re rewarded.

I’ve had a belief that the Raptors can beat any team in the league and I’ll stick to that in the Finals. They can be such a defensive powerhouse and that’s not something GS has really faced before. There’s s chance, even if slim, and I’ll cling to hope.

I mean, if the Clippers could take two games off of them.

I can't stand anything about Toronto or the Raptors but GS is the worst of the worst so go Raptors!.. but not worth watching either way so I'll just stick to watching the NFL network talk endlessly about the Cowboys and Tom Brady.

Whatever happens I sure hope GS breaks up this offseason so we can have some fun again.. its sorta reminding me the the Jordan Bulls run.. but at least then we had a small break in the middle while Jordan pursued baseball... and of course the Bulls team was at least likable and had to overcome Detroit.

If Durant doesn't come back I think the Raptors have a decent chance but my expectation is he'll be back for game 5 or so and that will be the series.

Really worried about Gasol when Curry's in the pick-and-roll and Nurse probably giving Gasol too much leash. Against Philly he took way too long to start keeping Ibaka away from Embiid and that series was a close-run thing. Not making the necessary adjustment against Steph and Klay soon enough will be deadly.

Can't comprehend this at all. As a basketball fan the Warriors play a beautiful game. It's like watching the Spurs for the last 20 years but with way more offense. Team ball, lots of screens and efficiency for days.

I could see someone hating Durant joining them maybe. But before that they were a thing of beauty and this last 10 days has been a glorious reminder of how fun they are.

This is how I have always viewed sports, since I was a kid playing little league. Winning championships may be the point, but more than anything, I just wanted to play/watch more games. Losing a championship game never felt as bad as losing any game that meant your season was over. Losing, when winning could mean the opportunity to play more, just hurts.

Toronto just got more games for the their players to play and their fans to watch. That is a win. Period.

So many things have to go right to win a championship, including getting to that championship level at a time there is not a legendary dynasty that is dominating the entire sport. So many random things have to go right that judging teams purely by championships is missing the point.

And you just never know. Your team could become the 2011 Mavs, 2004 Pistons, etc.

On a scale of 1 - 10 how much is Kawhi enjoying this hug?

I say 0

Can't blame him.

Now I think Drake at Raptors games is something fun, but the TNT commentators referring to him as a superfan ticked me off a bit. Nav Bhatia is the true Raptors Superfan.

Lowest odds are GS in 6. That would be an accomplishment IMO for Toronto.

Obviously GS is better with Durant because it's Durant but I honestly think they play so much more uptempo without him.

And with that increased speed when the shots are dropping goodluck beating GS when they go for 120.

Real winner is Masai Ujiri and every fan who doesn't want to see LeBron in a final.

The Warriors have never faced anyone that wasn't the LeBron James Cavaliers or the Chicago Stags or the Fort Wayne Pistons or the Washington Bullets in the finals.

I meant even the lead up series. The Rockets aren’t exactly defensive stalwarts.
