Total War does China - Three Kingdoms Catch All

Pre-loading has begun.

I am preloaded and ready to roll. I haven't gotten deep into a Total War game since Empire. I've purchased them along the way.

No. No. NO! I will NOT buy another total war game until I finish at least ONE TOTAL WAR GAME! I've had a Medieval 2 game going since 2010! I was doing ok around turn 150 in Warhammer when they dropped Warhammer 2! Why can't I finish a game!?! What cruel fate!

This is what I say about every Paradox game. But instead of "Finish" it is "Start".

Oh dear Lord the pre-loading has begun...

Sure. Why not get involved in a land war in Asia?!

It’s the Pre-Loadening, everyone! Activate emergency plan TW, and God speed your packets on their way.

Seriously? This is already [pending imminent] release? I genuinely thought it was a year+ out.
Glorious bastards, but bastards all the same. The lot of 'ye...

edit/add: those jackhats in marketing. There's this [paste] "PRE-PURCHASE OR BUY WEEK ONE TO GET FREE YELLOW TURBAN REBELLION DLC" thing too. Man, now I can't accidentally forget over the next 1.x days either. An entire week to turn that stone over in my head. ;-P

Preloading complete.... Looking forward to playing Thursday morning before work.

Bah won't be home until Friday. Can't even preload. Something to look forward too.

Can't do it remotely from your phone with the Steam app? Or a convenient friend/significant other?

I bought it, of course, as I have every damn Total War release since Shogun 2.

I just really, really hope the turn times are manageble, and not like TW: Warhammer 2. I simply cant stand spending a minute every turn just staring at the screen.

But - I am giddy with excitement, like with Total War release!

Man this is 89.99 in Australia. Sorry Liu Bei you gonna have to wait for a Steam sale. I haven't seen a price like that since a long time.

Can you get it on Greenman Gaming?

Not on GMG for some reason. On Fanatical.

Started playing a Chou Chou campaign this morning. The tactical battles feel snappier to me than any previous TW game. It's beautiful too.

Pretty sure the steam app can't do that. Better not be able too actually. Way too much access for an app. Shouldn't take too long when I get home as my internet is good. I'll have to subsist on reviews and dynasty warriors fumes for now.

Huh that's cool but man having an account that can remotely install stuff seems but dangerous. Course it being steam probably makes it less worrisome.

Could get it on Fanatical but that's still a game over $60. And with a half broken PC mouse and a son taking over the rig I think I'll wait a bit haha

The turns are SO much faster than Warhammer, really hope they can bring that for WH3.

Aye - Turn times are way up! The interface is gorgerous and the whole thing is incredibly slick!

Unfortunately for me, as I expected, the time period does absolutely nothing for me, meaning, I probably never will get to play it more than the few hours I have in it now.

Got in about 1.5 hours yesterday after a long day of work. My brain was already fried but wow lots of systems. I need to watch some videos of what's going on. The loading times are excellent so far but I do have this installed on a NVME SSD.

Where is the auto resolve button?

Yes, this game is unexpectedly rich and different in presentation from earlier ones. They really pulled out all the stops.

I semi-recently tried the Warhammer games, and even with an SSD, the turn times were awful right from the beginning. The games seemed fun, but I couldn't stick with them because of that. I didn't plan on picking this one up, but I made the mistake of reading the thread and was enabled, and the difference between turn times even early on is night and day.

I believe auto resolve is now 'Delegate'.

Thank you! I was like, what the heck happened to auto resolve?

Very helpful. I think the guy use to do Total War Academy videos.

Thanks - that video is fantastic - going to watch the others as well. Did he make similar videos for TW: Warhammer?

I recruited Lu Bu. That has never gone bad for anyone before right? Now to give him an army.
