My first MMO, and my favourite.

Not quite my first, but definitely my favorite.

I started on the base but I can't remember how to hook up teleporters. Going to have to check a guide.

I got the power and control setup so things can be used, I just can't remember all the things right now. Bah.

EDIT: I think I fixed it. Gotta sleep now.

Thanks for working on that!

Do we need to play in supergroup mode? I forgot about how that works. I'll try it tonight.

I don't remember. There's some kind of sg currency, prestige maybe? There's some kind of monthly base rent too. I can't remember exactly but I built us the cheaper type of base (hidden vs secure). Still way bigger than we need.

Also they have the base building costs set to free so maybe they turned off rent too? I just don't know. We'll find out I suppose.

Here's what I found online as well as all supergroup commands.

/sgmode Toggle supergroup mode.

I entered sgmode but it didn't do anything. I still got regular influence instead of sg prestige. Someone in the help channel said all that's disabled.

Massively OP has an article stating that all the SG base tools are free to build with. It also mentions that the Homecoming servers hit a record concurrent player count of 7950 Saturday night and have over 67,000 total players.

If anyone wants to play the i24 version (which is basically NCSoft's last version, which was in testing when the game shutdown), the original COH discord has launched its own server running i24, Rebirth.

I believe this is the first i24 server to launch -- all of the others are, as far as I know, running the i25 version that was built over the last 6 or 7 years by what's basically become the Homecoming team.

What version is everyone playing on?

I also saw an announcement that homecoming added a European server.

Java, myself, Stele and others are on the Homecoming I25 version.

It was Halycon(the last server they added), they renamed it to Reunion.

I've been playing on the Homecoming, Torchbearer server. I've now got 2 pages of characters all around level 10 to 20 with my highest only being 23 or so. I really need to just pick one and go with it for a while.

Bahh Humbug.

Tried to connect but the game servers appear to be down.

Notes from today's Homecoming patch

The biggest things are next Monday's events and the name release policy.

All the public servers Massively OP knows about plus some other stuff

There are a bunch of public servers I didn't know about, and quite a few of them are running i24.

That's a lot of servers. I can tell you, Everlasting is busy at all hours of the day, but the population in the evenings feel like prime time in the heyday of the original game. Very few whiners, everyone just seems happy to be there. It's really been great so far.

Hey way to out all the servers in one convenient place for certain company to swoop in and send C&Ds to.....

I'm not sure I'd want to go back to i24. Eventually yes it might end up better as it gets developed. But all the p2w vendor stuff and other things on homecoming right now is very convenient.

overlay map of badges
Download and run. It will ask where to install put it in the tequila coh folder. it will create a data folder in there. Then your map will show locations of badges.

if you dont do that there are individual maps available.

When you do all the badges in a zone you will get 5 reward merits, you can go to the reward merit vendors in the game and trade 5 at a time for one rare 25-40 salvage. this will sell for 600000-1000000 inf on the auction house. making it easier to buy your enhancements .

For sure. Ran a couple of radio missions last night. Atlas Park was jam packed! Every pug I ran with was filled with the warm fuzziness of it all. Compared to the blah to nasty vibes with pugs in just about every other MMO it's like playing in a dream.

What server are we playing on?

Torchbearer mostly

Thanks.

Also, I forgot how dangerous it is to head into the character creator without any plan of what sets you want to use or what you want the costume to look like.

Alt-oholism is a thing yo!

Yesterday I made three Sith lords. Gravity control/lightning assault dominator, electric blast/ninjitsu blaster and a katana/will power brute. Then I made Obi-wan, a broadsword/super reflex scrapper.
I also made Mole Man, an earth/earth dominator, Ice man, a Ice/Earth(crystal look) dominator, Iron fist a Street Justice/Will power brute.
My main character is Lord Kaiju a savage melee/radiation armor brute who looks like a big lizard.
Other characters I've actually played are Shrill Skrilla a failed DJ turned mastermind, and Blazing Miasma a fire dark corrupter.
I am also trying to decide between savage or thorny assault for a plant Dom.

Today's patch notes for the Homecoming servers: https://forums.homecomingservers.com...

The two big things are the nerf to the Vanguard Merit to Reward Merit conversion rate and the fix for the MSR crashes. I crashed 4 times in 10 minutes at a raid yesterday before giving up, so I'm really happy about that.

The merit nerf hurts but probably needed to be done, since the MSR gave so many more Reward Merits than any other activity. It's still the best source of Reward Merits in the game but it's more inline with other activities, so hopefully there will be more endgame content being run now.

Some people must really be playing a lot to be grinding end game stuff already.

I was in a group the other day where the guy was at level 42 and he'd been doing nothing but DFB the entire time. I'll run an alt up to about 20 doing that but I can't imagine just constantly running nothing but that to level.

Now they dropped amount of exp you get from it after level 10, so no point. Personally I try to mix in Taskforces and world bosses and some missions here and there, also joined a zone radio group at one point that was pretty challenging. Got in a portal +4 group(it bumped me up to 49) the other days and got a couple levels in under an hour.

My main character has been 50 for two weeks, and I've been grinding MSRs and AE missions with a friend. I've got T3's in all the incarnate slots and am about 6 IOs away from completing all the IOs. (The incarnates went really fast, like maybe 3 or 4 days -- I expect they'll nerf that for the long term health of the game.)

It's been super fun. Back when I played (2004-2007), the only endgame activity was Hamidon, so really what I'd do is hit 50 and then immediately roll a new toon. But this time around, I've been able to play my 50 quite a bit. A lot of it's been grinding for stuff, but I've also done some TFs and story arcs, and it's so different from before. COH has an endgame now!

I'm still on the fence as to whether it's better than CO's endgame, but the fact that I can play my 50 and keep progressing is great.

Also, the countdown timers on powers is great.

Did two Mothership Raids and didn't crash at all! Looks like that problem's fixed!

Fogrob and I are on the Homecoming Indomitable server. We realized a smidge too late that other goodjers were getting on the Homecoming train.

You can transfer your character to any other server for free and in under 5 minutes if you want
