Warframe

Just hit mr16 and have most of the frames i want but still have about 10 weapons i need 1 or 2 pieces of and RNG has not been kind in the radshare runs I've been doing. Really enjoying Titania, i know she's made out of toilet paper but her mini form is so much fun!
Now just gotta find the pieces the dojo needs for the archgun in normal mission thing so the wolf isn't such a massive pain.

So tired of this game freezing my Switch. At least twice a week the game itself locks up or the whole system does and I have to either reboot or hard reset.

Think I might be done.

That’s rough, Stele... I wonder how common that is? I haven’t heard of that, but I only have direct experience with the PC. Could it be a “memory full” kind of thing - a lack of “hard drive” space (pretty sure Switch uses some kind of memory card, instead)? Some of the streamers I watch change what platform they’re on, and I don’t think I’ve heard any of them mention it.....

Some of it probably has to do with sleep mode and possibly internet or connecting to the server. The game generally starts up no problem when I wake the system up, close the app, and relaunch it. But if I just relaunch it and hoping it resyncs with the server, it fails way too often. Usually I get "an error has occurred" and the app closes itself.

But today it crashed when I tried to close the app. Whole system locked and I had to do the 12-second power button thing to reboot it. That hard of a crash has only happened once before.

Either way it happens way too much. Or that's way too long to boot up when I just want to grab my daily reward and do one double-credit mission. I'm not having fun fighting the software.

My solo journey continues. Took on an Eidolon Teralyst today and downed it on my own, another proud moment!

Spoilering the specifics, which I haven't been great about in the past:

Spoiler:

Managed it with a Mirage and a Rubico Prime buffed up to do as much crit damage as possible, I could blow through the Synovia quickly using that rifle, and Mirage has enough damage and defence buffs combined to let me survive while pumping out the required amount of damage.

I've realised a bottleneck of sorts to further progress there though is the 10 eidolon shards I'll need to rank up with the Quills enough to gild and upgrade my amp. So I can either go through that gruelling process 9 more times, or begrudgingly group up to get the shards I need for a head start. On the plus side, it was a lot of fun, and the Quills rep I'm getting is letting me rank up my arcanes, so it will be marginally easier each time in theory.

I likely won't be able to solo much past a Teralyst no matter how much I tweak my setup, but the main reason I wanted to is to gild my amp anyway, so I'll be happy to leave it at that and move on to one of the many other progress tracks for a while.

That was a huge hurdle for me too. I’ve had a lot of success with pugs, just by selecting the teralyst bounty - I’ve been bringing Volt (shooting through the shields for the extra damage).

Same problem with the Fortuna “Quill” - I need a ton of those grav things to get past tier 2.

Well the Switch clan did finally finish recipes for Banshee and Nezha. One more mutagen mass needed for the last Zephyr part. So that's everything except Wukong.

Not bad for the 3-4 of us that actually play over there.

With an alert on Eris this weekend I tried again to get that stupid junction unlocked. Had a nice random teammate for that Lua defense that you have to get to wave 15. I was Rhino and he was Frost, shielding the objective. But he quit at wave 10 and I lost at 12 solo.

Also I've still never tried a derelict for Lephantis or whatever. I guess I'm not getting to that alert by tonight.

I've just recently been going back to Titania after having written her off on first acquisition. Don't know if they tweaked her but she seems way more viable now. I think there's at least two mods that reduce incoming damage while airborne, and with efficiency boosted you can zip around as a pixie indefinitely at 1.25 energy/second. Plus her hilarious dual auto pistol things can really wreck stuff, and her first power can get rid off status effects. Altogether I think that makes her sortie-viable depending on the conditions.

And omg Nezha with his thrown chakram augment and equilibrium is hilarious. All the enemies turn into energy-health piñatas. Whoever decided on an agile-DPS-tank-CC-support frame wasn't very concerned with how classes are supposed to work in games.

Took me 3 attempts to unveil a rifle riven - complete a level 30+ survival, solo, without killing anything. First one I ran out of life support before I could extract (damn Wolf had to show up on this one), accidentally killed an infested with my frost-bubble in the second (must have pushed it off into the abyss), third one barely made it out as my health was draining away.

Riven for the Daiku.... whoopee

Does the “combine 4 to make a new” work on rivens too? I haven’t had enough to try (or even look).

As far as Eidolons.

Solo Tridolon is possible if you want to kill but probably not until you have Tier 2/3 amps. I also would not recommend it. I have done it once and have no desire to ever do it again. I'm sure Capture is also possible but 0 desire to solo capture all 3.

As for getting your shards. Doing a group certainly makes it much easier even a group that does not really know what they are doing. Also doing Gaunt/Hydro list each drop more shards. I believe Gaunt drops 3 and 5 form Hydro. However, most Tridolon groups want to capture (for chance at rarer arcanes).

I am in EST so harder to line up times but If you wanted to try to line up times on a weekend I could gladly help you out. Can probably Duo 4+ Teralysts in a single night (being we started early).

Do note if you have a trinity in the party capturing is normally faster than killing because of the teleporting. on teralyst even without trinity is pretty easy to capture if you have multiple people.

In general Eidolon's are certainly possible solo but also certainly not designed to solo.

Can the Eidolon be hit with Trinity’s 2 (the energy pulses)? In regular missions, the target dies so fast, it feels like it’s hardly worth doing...

I don't think so. Mostly you use her for her 4 to heal Lures and keep them safe.

So below is normal Tridolon farming group ( Or was as of 3 months ago). However, do note if you are not trying to do multiple tridolon's a night really can use any group. Main thing is if you are capturing a healer is really important. Trinity is by far best but Oberon can work. I've also seen Limbo's but no idea how it exactly works and is higher risk.

So the Core standard Tridolon Group is 1 Chroma 1 Volt 1 Harrow 1 Trinity

These are basic summaries. With groups that do 3+ Tridolon hunts in 1 night time each has additional jobs/roles.

Chroma - He uses self damage buff and a self damage weapon to buff his Sniper ( Few popular snipers but most work) so he can pretty much 1 shot limbs. Main job is Limb damage.
Volt - Preferably using Madura. His main job is to put shields and do Shield damage to Edolon's.
Harrow- Preferably using Madura His job is to use his ult to stop energy drain after part breaks and do shield damage to Eidolons
Trinity - Job is to get Lures and keep them alive. Helps out with shield/limb damage.

I recently started sorties and it seems my main will now be rhino for these. I was already building my Rhino to be my four dragon key solo character.

After playing a few rounds with random people it seems my main job is to res my teammates since I don't have a built DPS character yet.

I am thinking of making my Rhino a bit more focused on efficiency and ability strength at the cost of duration.

So far my best run is a full team res when they all went down in the same hallway.

Anyone got tips on a light support but tanky res build?

My order of priority with Rhino is:
1. Strength
2. Vitality
3. The iron-skin augment that lets you re-cast his 2; because I don’t build for range (at all), the aug that adds iron-skin on enemies hit by the 4, is less appealing
4. Efficiency (I don’t boost it, but I try to keep above 90%, at least)
5. Duration (would matter if I used the 3, or 4)
And barely even on my list:
6. Range (again... would matter if I used the 3, or 4)
7. Armour (I’m pretty sure the armour DR applies to the iron-skin)

I forget what I have on it exactly, but I think I have the 3 Umbral mods (at 12 each), the Augment, and the other mods to boost strength to 200-something.

For supporting with Rhino I'd think about Roaring some. People like extra weapon damage output, but if you're in a team with people damaging through abilities I don't think Roar helps.

For more tanky, up the strength and armor. The dash augment builds up your ability strength based on the enemies you dash through, so one option is to get that and burst through a crowd before you Iron Skin. Also any incoming damage in the first few seconds after you Iron Skin gets multiplied and added to the Iron Skin armor value - dependable things like orokin lasers are pretty good for that. I wouldn't recommend Vitality because the Iron Skin is a 100% damage and status shield, so what's the point of health?

Does armor increase the amount iron skin protects? Because the default armor value is so low I never bothered putting any boost on rhino.

Maybe I should read a guide for my most played class...

Wiki says you should get

Modified Health = (Base Health + (Armor Multiplier × Base Armor × (1 + Armor Bonus))) × (1 + Ability Strength) + Absorbed Damage

Modified Health = (1200 + (2.5 × 190 × (1 + [0 to 1.1] ))) × 1 + 0 = 1675 to 2197.5
depending on whether you put on a ranked up Steel Fiber or not. So about a 31% increase in Iron Skin.

That's for normal Rhino. Prime takes that 190 to 275, plus you're probably going to get some power strength in there, taking that 1 to whatever. Both are multiplying that Armor Multiplier.

Seems worth it to me if you're wanting to tank.

Apparently I need to rank up my syndicate so I can buy ironclad charge mod. That's the hugest buff to iron skin. Wow.

Are you on pc? I have that syndicate maxed and some spare rank, i can just give you one.

No, I'm on Switch.

I wish accounts were truly linked. I'd love to play on PC occasionally but there's no way I'm starting over at this point.

Looks like I have 3 relics with the part I need for next syndicate rank. Might be with spending some points to boost my chances on those this weekend.

Last night I focused on Nidus - I think I’m getting the hang of him - I really like that he’s a frame where I use all 4 abilities (unlike so many of the others). Forma’d him 2 times (well, 3 if you count my impulsive Umbral forma’ing).

Bought 2 (or was it 3?) copies of Adaptation from WF Market - for 25p, or less, each. I’ve only seen them closer to 40p. I love it! (Still can’t do Arbies, yet... I should really get off my ass, and clear out the last dozen - a pretty equal split between Kuva and the OD.)

Played around with Inaros a little more too - I think I slapped Adaptation and a Forma on him... still a tanky-boi.

I’m starting to check what kind of room I have on my other frames, to see if I can start maxing out the “dual stat mods” (Blind Rage, Transient Fortitude, etc) - most of them, I stopped at 10, or so (because, for most, I only have 1 copy) just so they would fit inside a build, and not prevent my fitting anything else. I’m going to need more Forma

Does anyone else completely avoid the Sortie, if one of them is a Radiation Hazard? I guess I could lock it to solo, so I’m not insta-gibbing my teammates.

I've yet to try a sortie. Not sure what I should do next.

MR12, 18 frames unlocked. Got to Pluto but haven't unlocked Eris. Finished The War Within.

So the choices are probably:
1. Finish some story quests
2. Finish Void/Lua/Pluto nodes
3. Start derelicts and unlock Eris
4. Keep doing relics for better gear
5. Raise syndicate levels for better mods
6. Sortie? Or do I need better mods from above?
7. Something else I'm not aware of?

Not sure if derelicts with all the vault key stuff is tougher than sorties or what? I feel like 5 is my best step, but it will require some of 4 to get parts.

Most nights I just jump on for daily, do a quick Semenei, Ceres run for double credits, and then maybe level some weapons/frames. Helene, Saturn still seems best for that. I did the Index once for credits. Probably should do that more than Ceres but I worry about trying it solo or getting a bad team since you have to risk credits.

Thoughts? Tips? As much as I've played this game I still feel like a n00b sometimes.

I tend to take in status defeating frames like Inaros, Hildryn or Nezha. Titania's first power makes a little status removing area but the cast time and small size make it seem not effective.

By the time I had reached Jupiter (I think), if I had access to the boss for that planet, I (almost always) fought them until I could build the frame they dropped. I went hard for “GET ALL THE FRAMES!!”

#1!!! Finish the story - I think this should be your #1 project - I wish I didn’t delay this as long as I did... I had locked myself out of (operator) progression, and “wasted” time that I could have been grinding stats/standing while I was also doing everything else. (This could just be me, though)

I was about to suggest clearing the Void next, but those missions might be made easier with a broader selection of frames.

Not sure what you’re doing for slots - keeping “everything”? Being choosy re: frames & weapons? I started out with: keep all frames and a few “progression” weapons (the good stuff), and max-then-sell “MR fodder”. I’ve now bought plat 3 times - $25 x 2 (50% off), and $12 x 1 (75% off) - and won plat from twitch-streams a few times. I’ve only sold a couple frames (easily replaceable, after getting the Prime) - I’m tempted to sell a few “mission-only” frames... even though they’re “irreplaceable”. I’m having a hard time justifying keeping frames like: Equinox (have Prime, but basic was super PITA to farm), Excalibur (have Umbra), Limbo (have Prime), Mirage (have Prime), and Saryn (was suuuper PITA to farm, and have Prime). I STILL don’t have basic Chroma, or Mesa. All my plat is spent on potatoes, 3x Forma bundles, frame/weapon slots, a few times on the market for mods, and 2 or 3 (around 40p each) prime frame parts.

Relics are rarely something I target... unless it happens to be en vogue, and I see it pop up in radshares in recruitment chat - ie: if the community is grinding out Saryn Prime... it might be the best time to try for it.

Syndicates are something that I level, without realizing it... wear the best badge you have, and before you know it, you’ll be max-rank in no time. Just make sure to check on them so you’ve not hit the ceiling, and need to buy your way to the next level. Always take the sigil as the reward on up-tiering (my recommendation).

Derelict (vaults) is the only source for a bunch of coveted mods - Transient Fortitude, Blind Rage, Overextended, et al. These can really make-or-break some builds. You probably need a number of these before you want to move on to Sorties...

Sorties - high-level content with extra “problems” thrown in the mix. The 3rd part to a sortie is level 80 to 100, and can one-shot you. Bringing the right frame for he job will make these less frustrating.

That’s my 2p

I did War Within, which I think was the key one, already. If I need to do more though, someone shout without spoilers.

The syndicate I need for Rhino is maxed, but I need a part from a relic to advance. Seems like I should definitely try that this weekend.

Check, derelicts way before sorties. That helps.

Got Nyx maxed mostly over the weekend with a login affinity booster. Really like her, especially Absorb. Invincible and a big AoE, lots of fun.

Think she might be a keeper but I guess I'll go read how to build her too

I haven’t used Nyx in quite a while, but I remember fitting her for mostly range and duration - mind control (1) and chaos (3) were my go-to. Chaos the group, and mind control the toughest one in the bunch.

I like Nyx a lot, but she just can't hang in the tougher missions. There's a lot of utility, but unless you have someone feeding you energy as you Absorb around the map, you're gonna die. I don't think I ever tried the Absorb augment, I think it lets you hover around?

She needs an overhaul. They just released a neat looking super skin for her yesterday, which is bonkers because her usage stats are a flatline across the whole Master Rank spectrum. Why spend time making content for a character no one uses?

The new boss fight seems pretty good. Hopefully this begins an era of decent boss design, and maybe they even go back and re think some of the old ones.

They desperately need an option to turn off the talkie overlays. I'm over here trying to space ninja and Lotus of Borg is all yak yak yak. Even if I was interested in what was being communicated, how the hell am I supposed to pay attention to the monologolyst when I'm being shot at?

Still on the fence with the new mission type. There seems to be some room for group strategy on how to tackle the four posts, but that also allows a pubbie lone wolf to screw things up for the team. I guess that's a game design trade off, you can't have both sides.

I almost like the mechanic of having to defend the post from a single suicide bomber, but I haven't figured out how to predictably determine which direction they're coming from that doesn't involve audio. Maybe there's a visual indicator somewhere I'm missing.

My Nezha finished building today and I still haven't played the Equinox or Banshee I built last week. Zephyr still in foundry. Looks like plenty to try this weekend.

Almost out of slots/plat again. But I can't bring myself to get rid of anything, even frames I haven't used in a couple months.

The idea that no one plays Nyx is nuts to me, she's easily my most used frame by orders on magnitude. A lot of that is because of her theme, but part of it is definitely her capacity for mass crowd control which I feel is unmatched, at least out of all the frames I've played so far. Admittedly that's especially helpful as a solo player, which I realise likely isn't the way the majority of players experience the game.

She also did have an overhaul recently, I wonder if most people haven't checked her out since then and still think she's the same old Nyx from months ago.
