2019 NBA Catch-All - It’s Fantastic

Report: Frank Vogel to coach Lakers, Jason Kidd to assist.

Which reminds me I should have posted this sooner:

Prediction: If the Lakers lose three in a row next season, Vogel will be fired and Kidd will get promoted to interim.

I think Vogel is a good coach. I don’t understand the Kidd part and it seems like a bad decision to me.

I think they’ve resigned themselves to not getting Anthony Davis and working with the young guys instead. In which case the idea is that Kidd will be able to turn Lonzo Ball into a younger Kidd.

Focusing on player development is smart. They should have just started there.

Or, Kidd is a James guy, and although the Lakers didn’t want to give the head job to a Bronny, they knew they needed to get one on the staff it risk pissing him off.

Oh it’s definitely partly that. At least.

Kidd is so horrendously horrible of a coach, and an even worse human being. I saw it first hand from his time in Milwaukee.

A lot of horrendous calls going Denver’s way and a lot of missed free throws.

Portland still up 4 late, might steal this thing.

Yeah, looking like a gritty win for Portland. Happy for them. But something tells me Evan Turner junkball foul-hunting isn’t gonna work against the Warriors

f*ck yeah. Didn’t see that coming when the season started.

The rare no time zone change Western Conference Finals.

True

I’ve discovered a new inefficiency NBA teams can exploit.

Play bench players.

I know. Crazy. Zach Collins, Rodney Hood and even Myers Leonard were vital to the Blazers winning the series.

Also, Kanter was basically heroic, playing the whole series with a separated shoulder.

Now I have to root against Toronto, because on the off chance Portland makes it to the Finals Kanter won’t be able to travel to away games.

I think I typed a lot of words on this topic up thread!

Oh I know. I should have given you co-credit since we’ve been talking about this for a while. When we present our findings at the Sloan Conference I promise I won’t make that mistake again.

One round at a time, one round at time. I actually hadn't thought of that, Kanter's travel status...

Go Raps! (it's just coming back from the half now)

It really shows in this Toronto Philly game. My word, this is underwhelming. Close, but underwhelming.

Random dumb thing I love. The #4 trending term on Twitter is “Jennifer”.

And then there’s this tweet

I’m dead

Awesome. A screencap when it reached 27 would have been great!

This might be the greatest postseason in my lifetime as a Blazers fan.

Tied with 3 min left. I guess Game of Thrones can wait just a bit longer.

Whoa tied with 4.2

Dammit I can't have OT.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME WITH THAT SHOT?

Wowwwwwwww

Setting aside my earlier jumping the gun on rooting against Toronto, I’m really excited for Toronto fans to get to see their team in the ECF, fighting for another day. What a way to finish that series.

The emotion on Kawhi’s face is something special

Raps will need to be much better but I think the neutral fans win the longer players like Kawhi are in the playoffs.

City is going to be buzzing for another round.

Lol

I thought I heard his voice crack slightly.
