Adhesive or screw mounted?

Do you play everything digitally, or is it easier to insert discs/cartridges than that photo suggests?

Screw mounted. The Switch could probably be adhesive mounted but I'm over cautious.

Disks mostly for PS4/some catridges for switch, except for Indies. It's really not difficult to reach, the disc slot of the PS4 is facing that side and the TV itself is on a mount that pivots pretty easily. The switch pops out of the dock easily enough as well, so inserting catrtidges is a little more work but not much.

That looks awesome Gremlin. Did you buy specific brackets for this or build your own? Surely you didn't just drill through the bottom of the PS4.

Great job on the console mounting.

Specific mounts purchased off Amazon (links below). The PS4 mount is just a metal shelf with a lip and screw to hold it in place. The Switch is a piece of molded plastic (really sturdy, actually) that you screw in then drop the whole dock into.

Here's an actual shot of the setup:

I eventually cut the wire track down so it's not sticking out underneath the TV stand and attached it with command strips to the wall. Too bad this is a rental and I'll have to do this all again in a year.

Playing Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, even with the official component cables and progressive scan enabled, was irritatingly blurry on a modern TV. Excited to see how much this improves the image quality!

Finally got to try this tonight. 20 minutes later, the credits were rolling on Rogue Leader. I'd been banging my head against that final mission for at least 5 hours spread over several weeks. I hadn't touched it since early January, so it took me 10+ minutes to relearn the controls. Once I got into the Death Star, I beat the rest of the mission on the first try. Fist pumping and cheering ensued.
My toddler woke up and the adapter cost about $150. This moment was worth the price in both cases.

The effect of the GC HD II on Rogue Leader was subtle, but noticeable. Apparently it was also enough to help me finally finish the game. Looking forward to trying out Resident Evil 1 with it next.

I hate carrying keys in my pocket, so I found a cool little keyholder to keep them nice and tidy. It even came with a little opener/screwdriver.

That looks awesome.

I would like to subscribe to your “keys not stabbing me in the groin” newsletter.

I tried keeping them in my bag but after a couple days of just... near constant panic as I reassured myself I had my keys, I went back to front pocket. It's awful.

There seem to be several variants on Amazon. I've been comparing reviews and prices this morning trying to decide which to get.

I also realized I have a dozen of those store/loyalty cards and I really need to put those in an app so I don't have to carry them all the time either.

I used an app for that back during the GS3 days. It did not work because scanners couldn't scan the code off my screen. Maybe it's better now.

So I have a question. All of the photos for these products show very plain keys. My car key doesn't have a Fob built into it but it does have a large plastic top. Like this:

Will these keys fit or would I have to get custom car keys made? Any ideas?

What y'all want is a key suspension clip. you can clip it the upper material on your pocket, or preferably on your matchbook pocket. Keys will no longer settle in the bottom of your pocket and poke you. Alternatively get pants with a roomier matchbook pocket and just put the keys (including the key wallets above) into that matchbook pocket.

I had an old Pilot with those types of keys. I don't think the keyholder I bought would work for those.

I keep my fob seperate from my other keys as sometimes I clip my keys to the inside of my bag - but I always have my car fob on me. (I did try leaving my car fob clipped in my bag at work for a while, but you have no idea how many times I walked down three flights of stairs to go to lunch, only to realize I left my car fob in my bag!!!)

-snip- wrong thread, oops!

I’ve used one of these for the past couple of years and they are absolutely brilliant. The difference is really surprising.

I’m currently using Stocard for this and it works pretty well.

I am curious - what keys are you guys carrying around? I only carry one, my house key. I have some others like for a padlock on a rarely used door, but I just leave it in a drawer until I need it. My car 'key' hasn't been an actual key for a couple of cars now so they wouldn't work on a clip like that.

For store rewards cards I leave them in my car and pull out the one I need when I arrive somewhere. A lot of places have apps these days or can do it by phone number so I think I only have like 3-4 cards I use regularly. I have another 20 or so that I use like once a year and for those I keep them in a little card case in the center console storage similar to this one:

IMAGE(https://proxy.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn4.thegrommet.com%2Fmedia%2Fcatalog%2Fproduct%2Fcache%2F1%2Fimage%2F473x355%2F9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95%2Fs%2Fk%2Fsku_cardcubby_teal.jpg&f=1)

I try to keep my pockets as empty as possible, I don't like the feel when they have a lot of stuff. I even bought a slim wallet for my back pocket that holds the 6-7 cards I need and it is much better for me than a regular wallet (credit, bank, insurance, id).

Or just get a carabiner

boogle wrote:

Yeah. I bought one good quality carabiner. Like 8 years ago. It's still holding my keys today and works perfectly.

My keys are: front door, back door, bedroom door, in-laws house, office door. Car key is a separate fob.

I also highly recommend Stocard for organizing loyalty cards. Even if the barcode won't scan, at least I have a digital version of the card on my phone 24/7. I also add the appropriate phone number to the notes field so the clerk can easily look up my card if need be.

Also, yeah, a slim front pocket wallet changed my life (and my back) years ago. A couple of credit cards, license, and a few notes (hundos of course*) is all I carry.

Spoiler:

* Yeah right. I rarely have >$20 cash on me!

I used Amazon's treasure truck for the first time. It's my first Japanese knife, and I'm super impressed. Dicing ginger felt like cutting through tofu. I still need to learn how to mince with the new shape.

Beautiful! Nothing beats a good knife, yeah?
