Marvel Media (Spoiler Thread)

Thoroughly enjoyed this, got a little dusty in the room at the end though.

Watched Into the Spiderverse last night.

Funny how the best Marvel movie was made by Sony.

Isn't it amazing? It's also the best animated anything I have watched in a long long time.

Fine, I will see it...tickets bought for Tuesday at 4pm. (No matter how much I want to see the movie I can't resist $5 Tuesdays)

Avengers Endgame Review NO SPOILERS

Disagree. Only reason Sony was involved is because they still own the rights to Spiderman. We have Phil Lord and Christopher Miller to thank for Into the Spiderverse.

Watched Captain Marvel and liked it. Really liked Fury and Marvel. Also the main Skrull guy was good. The rest of the cast was really under served. I wanted to know more about everybody especially from people we have seen in other movies.

I liked the special effects but you will notice the cgi. I liked the costumes and the reason for the change in costume for captain marvel.

I might have missed something but some bad dudes show up and I have no idea why. I liked the way captain marvel took them out but it just felt so random.

Anyway all in all good movie. Will watch it again.

How Captain Marvel Should Have Ended

We have a huge team of absurdly talented artists, programmers, writers, actors and directors to thank for Into the Spiderverse. That list includes, but is certainly not limited to, Lord and Miller.

According to IMDB Lord is one of two credited writers. Miller is one among 10 various producers (along with Lord). The directors are credited as Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman.

So what you're telling me is that I should just thank "Sony" and call it good?

Well, Sony Pictures Animation.

Actually you have to thank North Korea. North Korea hacked Sony and released those emails.

Those emails were really embarrassing to Amy Pascal.

Desperate for a win after the release of those emails Amy Pascal came to the bargaining table with Marvel and revitalized Spider-Man.

With millions of MCU Spider-Man dollars in the bank and wanting her own hit, Pascal then took a chance on Into the Spider-Verse. And the rest is history.

So thank you, Kim Jung Un.

So thank you, Seth Rogen.

To help those of you who are getting older like me and can't drink a soda and sit through an entire movie not miss any important parts of Endgame.

That's truly a thing? I know i'm older than you and that's still not an issue. Now while drinking beer... that's a different story

I think I damaged my bladder in basic training in the military. They made us chug water during road marches like crazy to stay hydrated (Fort McClellan Alabama in the summer) but then had very few opportunities to piss. We weren't allowed to just stop by the road and do it either because we were a mixed gender company (Military Police). I know people actually just pissed on themselves sometimes but most of us just held it, sometimes for an hour or more as we didn't want to get shamed or yelled at. After that I never peed the same and it's gotten a little worse since I hit 40.

As the old saying goes, it's not about age, it's about the miles.

Definitely a thing. Another reason I don't want to go to theaters is that I have a weak bladder that makes me urinate a lot. I had to pee three times while at home during my watch of Aquaman.

I drink too much coffee. I can't make it through a regular movie without needing to pee. [shrug]

Don't go chasing waterfalls
Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to
I know that you're gonna have it your way or nothing at all
But I think you're moving too fast

Thanks, I have to pee now!

I prioritize seeing as much as I can at a locally owned cinema pub, and usually get a full stein, so this is a godsend, both from a restroom perspective, and a refill one.

Thought we covered the run pee app a long time ago. Maybe in the general movies thread. Oh well.

It also helpfully tells you if and when credit scenes are, which has been important in the last few Marvel movies

There is apparently no credits scene either mid or post for endgame, as I understand it.

There's some kind of audio only stinger after, but no scene.

That’s right - saw it a couple of days ago, there’s no scene at the end. The first half of the credits are worth watching though.

Excellent movie, lived up to the hype as far as I'm concerned. But yeah, really no post-credit scene. Do your bladder a favor.

Are we spoiling this now? Don't want to be that guy. What I can say is I thought it was OK. If they cut about an hour it would have been much better.

I realize this is the spoiler topic, but this reveal is a pretty big spoiler. In case anyone is wondering what the "stinger" sound at the very end of the credits is:

Spoiler:

Disney have confirmed that it is a sound cue from the original Iron Man when Stark was building the first suit out in the desert. So it's a bit of an homage, and a way to bring his story full circle.

I enjoyed the movie very much. Plenty of laugh out loud moments, quite a bit of fan service callbacks, and yes, my cheeks got wet in a couple of scenes. I experienced the full range of human emotions!

One thing that put a big grin on my face was WOMAN SQUAD assembling at a critical point in the big battle!
