What are you playing this weekend?

I got back into Battletech a little while ago -- career mode with the 3025 Extended mod. I expect to spend a chunk of this weekend shooting up Wasps and Stingers and hoping to add a Marauder to my collection.

Wife is working all weekend so I will limit my gaming time. Some Trails in Cold Steel 2 and Sekiro if the flesh is willing.

Getting nearer the end of ...

And hoping to make progress in ...

Nothing too demanding for me this weekend. A relaxing mix of

and

Yup.

Also, I really want to check out Darkest Dungeon too but I’m sorta holding out for it being a future CRPG club choosing.

So have I. But I somewhat doubt it will actually happen anymore.

Ok so, Dungeon Warfare 2 FINALLY released on Android (and iOS I assume). After loving the crap out of the first game, and buying it both on Steam and Android, it was an excruciating wait. I'm very pleased to say the wait was well worth it! It's everything that made the first game great, sequelized! More traps! More upgrades! More levelling perks! More monsters! ITS SO GOOD.

If you haven't heard of this game, it's essentially a top-down Orcs Must Die without a playable character. It's a trap-based tower defense with a fun combo system and plenty of variety. You can upgrade your traps like any other tower defense, but your performance in any given level contributes to an overall EXP reward. You can then progress down a player skill tree, and re-attempt difficult levels with more perks.

It's entirely too addictive and is probably too perfect for a mobile game. I've almost missed my bus stop on numerous occasions.

Highly recommended. It's the only TD game to top Bloons for me!

Alright. You’ve sold me.

I believe that Chucklefish|Robotality is still releasing Indianna Jones... er, "Pathway" tomorrow(?) It just recently stumbled onto my radar. At first glance, appears to be a fun diversion at a reasonable price point. Impulse buy likelihood: high.

stuff:
"Pathway is a turn-based strategy RPG which utilizes pixel/voxel hybrid technology to enhance the gorgeous and detailed pixel art with depth, lighting and shadows – the effect is stunning. With dynamically generated adventure campaigns and branching choices, players will have the opportunity to have a truly unique story each time they play."

Ooooooo! That looks great!

^ Hopefully a handful of reviews pop tomorrow. I was immediately enamored with Pathway after seeing the YouTube trailer. Naturally, that goes hand in hand with internal alarms sounding off What with modern life and the immense Steam backlog and all.

RPS had this snippet, which is a good distillation of my initial impressions: "It appears to be a tantalising" [SIC] "blend of FTL, Curious Expedition and cover-based, very XCOM squad combat – there’s exploration, bartering, party building and lots of RPG granularity, and five semi-procedural campaigns. It helps that it’s all wrapped in lush, well animated sprites and a very John Williams-inspired soundtrack."

ps. Browsing through https://chucklefish.org/ put me down the rabbit hole of "do want" for both WarGroove and the Siege and the Sandfox, too:

Oh, I forgot Pathway's out soon, thanks for the reminder! It looks like it ticks a lot of boxes for me and I have some spare cash in my Steam wallet, so a high likelihood of an impulse purchase here too.

I'm playing Sekiro.

Or should I say, Sekiro is playing me. Hard.

(Giggity.)

Should be a near carbon copy of last weekend.

Sekiro
Persona 5
Persona 4 Golden
LoH: Trails of Cold Steel
The Cave
FFVII
(I need that Barrett date)

Looking good!

I should probably get around to finishing Sekiro.
Still playing career mode in F1 2018.
Might poke around in Factory Town some more too.

Division 2 and most likely some more of Operencia.

I've been eyeing Outward.... It sounds just bizarre and annoying enough for me to love it. I need to resist for now.

Some Ni no kuni 2, and a lot of Yoku's Island Express, which I just started and I'm finding supremely charming.

Coop Alienation with my buddy overseas, some Division 2, and Path of Exile tomorrow and then I'm off for a 14 hour flight to Japan on Sunday. Now I'm stuck trying to decide which games to install on my laptop, shows to download, etc for that god-awful flight.

...also seriously considering going and buying a Switch to save myself the back pain of lugging around a heavy 6 year old gaming laptop. Not sure that will go over well with the wife.

After taking a week off from Space Game Junkie, I'm back to making content, so this weekend I'll be playing this masterpiece:

IMAGE(https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/d0/Star_General_Coverart.png/220px-Star_General_Coverart.png)

If I'm gonna play ALL the space games, gotta play the bad with the good, right?

For myself, I'll be playing more of this:

IMAGE(https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steam/apps/903780/header.jpg?t=1553655911)

Since it's super fun, and the new Cyberwitch character in this:

IMAGE(https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steam/apps/394760/header.jpg?t=1554494022)

Which, if y'all haven't played, you should, as it's fantastic.

Should be a pretty good weekend!

Mostly Assassin's Creed Odyssey, I think. Time to fight a Minotaur!

Wow, that's a blast from the past! But wait, wasn't that the one that essentially had no AI? I remember playing that and it was like one of those electronic tabletop football games where all the players would bounce around and end up as a big blob in the middle of the field.

Pathway looks exciting. It reminds me of the first Jagged Alliance.

Yeah, it's one of the reasons it's the worst in the entire series.

The Walking Dead: The Lord of the Flies Edition.

I will try to finish Far: Lone Sails absolutely having a blast with it.

Gonna add Dragonball FighterZ to my list of things to play this weekend since I just picked it up on the xbox sale ($15)

I only really wanted to check out the story mode, so it was never worth full price for me.

Any chance there are mods for it that make it a complete game?

Sadly no, the game, from what I can find, only ever got one patch and that was it.

So sad. You'd think that it would have been easier to get the AI right for that iteration of the engine, given simpler terrain considerations and the maturity of the engine. It's almost is if they got it half done and called it a day.

Well it also wasn't helped by the lack of a story or interesting missions.
