Borderlands 3 Loot-All

I'm still extremely excited and will be getting it on the Epic store.

Anyone know if the Steam controller works with games on the Epic store?

I'm rather torn on this as someone who's played all of the games on Steam thus far, and largely because I like keeping all of a franchise in the same store. I've bought from the Epic Game store, but still not a particular fan of it at the moment (and I haven't actually played anything on it yet, as Hades is still in early access).

The fact that the exclusivity is only 6 months makes me wonder if I should just wait and continue whacking away at my backlog.

On the other hand, it sounds like there's talk of crossplay, which should hopefully create less of a sting. And some sort of auto-level to allow people to play at different levels.

So a few more bits of info from today's drop.

Loot can be either instanced per player or a free for all as in previous games, it is up to you when you create a session.

Guns do have alternate fire modes: Atlas guns can fire tracker rounds and smart bullets that follow the trackers, DAHL guns feature multiple rates of fire that can be toggled between, and Maliwan guns can be switched between two different elemental types and do guaranteed elemental damage.

There are also crazy guns that so things like spawn lava spewing volcanoes or that grow legs and chase down enemies while verbally abusing them.

Also I can't find a source for this one but they are looking to do cross-platform co-op (this bit was cut from the blog post on the official Playstation Blog of course).

It would be pretty sweet if your alts could jump in and the computer could take the role of fellow PCs.

(with level scaling that allows, say, a 5 and a 25 to play together, where the same enemy would look different to each PC).

That Diamond Loot Chest Edition price is a bit excessive.

Agreed, I splashed out on the original BL2 chest but wont be going after this one.

Oh and bear in mind they came out with a second "special edition" chest last time to, annoyed me that.

Buyable loot and xp buffs. Ouch.
Well, in the different editions that is. Might not be available elsewhere.

Microsoft's store page lists it as cross-platform co-op, at least between Xbox1 and PC. If Sony ever decides to join in, it should be pretty easy for them to enable it between all three.

I wonder how this will effect the games "economy" and trading. Preferably, once you pick up a gun you can just drop it and then it'll be able to be picked up by your co-op partner(s). Makes it a lot easier and don't need to have a cumbersome trade interface.

Wish there were some pictures of the stuff included in the Collector Edition...not that I really want to spend $250 on 1 game, but depending what it looks like I could be tempted.

So annnoyed with this "exclusive" store bs. I have all my other Borderlands games on Steam and have been a fan and bought all the games/all dlc. Sigh.

For some reason I get a Penny Arcade vibe from the Calypso Twins.

Honest question, will it prevent you from buying the game because of that? It sounds like there's going to be cross play between all platforms, and I'd be willing to bet that includes PC folks that initially purchase through the EGs with folks that purchase later through Steam.

Personally (as noted earlier), I'm already all-in on BL3, day one. Doesn't matter to me that it's on the EGs, since I'll be playing on the same PC that Steam is also installed on. I don't feel like I'm losing anything specific by buying on the EGs, but I'm interested to hear more detailed opinions from folks that feel differently.

I'll be in Day 1 as well. Since I only tend to play with one friend, the potential for no cross-play isn't that big a deal. As a Canadian, Epic not offering the game in CAD is a pretty big frustration, though. I'm also interested to see if they have any bonuses for those that have bought the other games (as Borderlands 2 gave you a couple of heads and skins if you had Borderlands 1) and if you wouldn't receive those for getting it on the Epic store.

Now I am hoping Jerry and Mike voice them for some reason. Speaking of voices any word if Ashly Burch is going to be back as Not-So-Tiny Tina?

At the very least it will prevent the thing that's happened to me a few times since coming back to the game--you spend a sh*tload of time in a nasty fight, win, and then get booted by the host. I'm just here for the off chance of a Slayer of Terramorphous mod, dude, and we aren't even the same class!

Steam users are giving negative reviews to the previous Borderlands titles because they're so irate about 3 being an EGsclusive for 6 months.

Review bombing is lame.

My main concern is how crossplay between Epic and Steam would work, if it will at all.

All-in, Day 1!!

It shouldn't even be possible to review games prior to release and/or unless you are a confirmed buyer. Doesn't kill all of the trolling, but it will prevent more than not.

So far I haven’t seen anything that differentiates it from Borderlands 2. To me it looks more like a re-skin than a true sequel. I’ll still pick it up, but have no problem waiting until it’s on Steam.

On Steam, you can't review unless the game is released and you're a confirmed buyer. What they're doing is bombing Borderlands 1, 2, and Pre-Sequel.

The review bomb has always been a pathetic expression of impotent rage and delusion, but this one might be the most pathetic and impotent.

My bad - looking back, B12 even stated the review bombing is happening on previous games.

Digitally pre-ordered the Super Deluxe Edition for PS4. I fully plan to pick the same version up on Steam next April too, although it sounds like it might be $120 by then...

The Super Deluxe Edition includes everything that's part of the Deluxe Edition, plus the Borderlands 3 season pass. It will be available initially for $100, but the price will increase to $120 from September 17. In the UK, the Super Deluxe Edition will be exclusive to Game, and the price will increase from £90 to £105 for console and £100 for PC starting September 17.

planning on getting my copy next week, but I've preliminary decided to buy it on PC at the $100 level with the super deluxe edition.

The way Randy is dealing with review bombs on Steam is childish at best. I'm not mad about the exclusivity.
Randy keeps surprising me about how he is still running his company.

OMG can you say "SQUEE"?
I don't know which one I want to use first:
Tediore, Hyperion or Atlas
The CoV guns sound interesting too. I still think it would have been more interesting with modular weapon parts. So you could make a Hyplasiore weapon with interchangeable stocks, barrels, grips and sights. I guess that is more along the lines of Fallout 76.
