Apex Legends - Catch All

Apparently there is now a jump pad outside of Market that is what the leaked next legend's ultimate is like. There is video of it, brb with that.

Edit: https://xboxdvr.com/gamer/b1gben1810...

We used it last night. A fantastic way to attack the market roof without having to go inside and get on a rope. Or be a Pathfinder.

There are also stairs on the outside up to the roof, but I always feel exposed on them. You can also climb up the big doors if they're closed (and close them if they're open).

There's also a couple places where you can mantle up to the roof as well without using the stairs. Especially when you have people focusing on the stairs and giving up their backs to you.

Bamboozle can use the jump pads too.

I never heard about it until I saw it while playing last night. Random team mates looked as surprised as me and they used it about 3 times to check it out. Isn't it weird that there is one jump pad on the whole map?

There's about 4 or 5, but you're right it is weird that they're all right at Market.

If it is truly an easter egg for the new charachter ability I wouldn't expect it to be everywhere.

I think its less easter egg, more an opportunity to derive real world data in order to tweak jump height etc before it goes into the new hero.

Read an article yesterday that says Apex is banning people who cheat with hardware bans. So if they create a new account on the same computer they get auto banned. I am not supporting cheaters and am fine with the punishment being harsh, but I am thinking about the risk of false positives being pushed out of the game, or even minor offenses that someone doesn't even realize is against the rules. As an example, we had a goodjer (won't name names but I am sure everyone knows who) who got a ban that we can only attribute to his mouse supporting macros and even though it was never configured to use that feature, it triggered their anti cheat and he got auto banned. Kind of scary if that would turn into a hardware ban just because you chose a mouse that did things in a particular way without your knowledge.

His name is dirty cheater!!!

I'm pretty sure there is missing an expletive in there.

It is but was trying to be nice. I'm not good at being nice.

I am a little bit underwhelmed by the Battle Pass but I'm not quite sure what I was expecting.

I'm not because I was not expecting a lot. I am underwhelmed by lack of information about the future. Is Solo/Duo coming? What weapons are coming? Any map or game mode changes scheduled?

Not expecting all of those but i think answer to any of those might create a little more buzz.

Le0 & I had a nice win today. He had 3 revives (at least 2 on me) and we had 9 kills between us. At the end, our 3rd, a young kid who had been silent all match, excitedly talked about how he was carried.

Le0 is better with the play-by-play, but it was a fun match!

I was expecting challenges to complete, and I see no mention of that. It needs something else for me, I'm getting a bit bored already.

They seem to have carefully made this one based on getting people to get xp playing all the legends, instead of challenges for people who are skilled at the game.

I love this, since i am not focused on the win, and instead am enjoying various learning curves ( some i am terrible ar, some...like jumping, i have gotten MUCH better at.)

I never tried to join randon groups posted through xbox before. So much jargon. "Sweaty" and "going for dubs". So far i have only tried a couple times...but i think the other focus in this season is encouraging exactly this. Playing with people who i at least know are good sports and team players...makes the game so much better.

FINALLY got that W with HBTriplesticks last night! HB was running wild with a choked up Peacekeeper! I think this was my favorite win so far, just because it felt the most hard fought and earned!

Myself as Caustic, HB with Lifeline, we started out in slums with a rando Pathfinder who wasn’t too high level. We dropped Slums on HB’s suggestion. One of us clocked another squad coming close, so I dropped outside at the east side of Slums, on the lower part to try and gear up quick, but got nothing. So I quickly took the zip line to the waterfall like caves up on the ridge and found a Spitfire and a level 1 shield. I decided I needed to get back to my squad ASAP looting in the main of Slums, just in case action popped off. It had been silent for the first minute for us. I hopped the zip line from the ridge to the main of Slums and IMMEDIATELY our Pathfinder went down as I hit Slums. I booked it to HB who was battling it out and got the luckiest timing as a Bloodhound and a Bangalore were advancing on HB and they had there backs to me as I came up and downed Bloodhound with the LMG and forced Bangalore right into a big punch from HB.

We geared up and found HB a Precision Choke and moved to the Pit. Poor HB couldn’t find ANY extra shotty ammo as we cleared Pit with no action. Our mute Pathfinder bud did a mini troll on HB as I pinged some shotgun ammo and the PF grabbed it, then threw it at HB and then snatched it up again. I think they were being a goof, but I digress. We were scoping where to go next when our Pathfinder went down quick as a team approached. I tried to fend a Wraith off but took a lot of hits. Luckily, HB was ready to go WILD! HB proceeded to go in HARD with the Peacekeeper and drop two of the three. Unfortunately, HB went down as the last of the team came up. But I was able to mop up with a focused fire Spitfire and get the whole squad down. I rezzed HB, but our Pathfinder got boxed. We healed up quickly at Pit as the circle was at our back and about to start moving again. We luckily were able to get to the respawn beacon and back to the Pit to gear up a second time off the corpses of our kills before the ring started moving again.

We had to book it quickly to between Bunker and the small area northwest of it (forget the name). It was down to 2 or 3 other squads as we heard gunfire on the other side of the cliffs by the respawn beacon we had just used east of the Pit. HB and our Pathfinder took a peak as I started laying down gas traps in the crack leading into that area. Suddenly, HB goes down FAST as Pathfinder gets hurt bad. I run up and rez HB quickly as my traps start to go off as the other team tries to advance. I get HB up and start chucking every grenade and arc star I’ve got, as well as my Ultimate Nox Grenade. I see damage pop and we retreat back around the cliffs south towards bunker. The other team doesn’t pursue.

What follows is a flurry of bullets and a harrowing battle between us and the final two teams in a 3-way onslaught as the circle closes on that little area by bunker. Our poor Pathfinder goes down early again as I’m chased inside the building by a Bloodhound with a choked up Peacekeeper. I lay gas and fend him off from inside as HBTriplesticks puts on a CLINIC outside! I heal up fast and get our PF back up again as HB is like a man possessed! HB goes pure offense and downs a couple while a Wraith is bouncing around, trying to get us down. The three of us form up quick and heal as Wraith rains led from above onto us. I run into the building, but HB is like a shark and tracks Wraith down for the Win! I had no idea it was only down to her and us!

TL;DR- HBTriplesticks goes MVP with a Peacekeeper while I play cleanup and rezzer and our apparent tag along is a very excitable Young ‘Un who we carried. Was pretty stellar!!

Agree, I think it was my favorite win because it feels like that match delivered on the promise of what Apex can be when it's good. We couldn't have won without working as a squad (as evidenced by the revives) and the smart use of abilities, with the caustic traps preventing the opponents from pursuing us when we needed to heal up.

That was a joy to read, Leo! Thanks for the great story, and congrats to both of you!

Got inspired by Leo's post, needed to put this here - just got my first champion in a long while. Started like many others, no one else in sight for a few minutes, but when we finally did at Cascades, we made sure we were the third squad in. It was a sniper fight the whole time. Two Triple Takes and a Longbow between us, and it became a game of attrition as we were in a duel with a squad, another would come behind the ones we were shooting at and we'd press in and keep firing, but let them engage each other. The final fight was a protracted long distance battle, many downs but never boxed as we knew we could retreat and heal up. A few came at us through smoke, so we rushed in with Spitfires and close ranged mowed them down. In the end the final squad was only 2 people, so as Mirage I ult'ed and it was easy to get angles on them.

Feels soooooooooo good to win. Soooooooooooo good.

Love the win stories, keep them coming!

If anyone is thinking about getting the Battlepass, you can essentially get it for $5 if you sign up for Origin Access Basic for one month. The subscription will give you 1,000 Apex coins, and you can cancel it once the month is up. There is also the side benefit of getting access to a bunch of games on Orgin as well. I plan on playing Titanfall 2, since I missed it back when it came out.

Picked up the Battlepass last night just to see how it played out. It's fine. I'm happy to throw some money towards Respawn given how much I've enjoyed the free-to-play game. However, I was kinda hoping for more "challenges" like what Fortnite and Blackout did. That you can accrue points for simply playing characters is fun - that'll encourage me to branch out but I always enjoyed that other metagame from those challenges.

Regardless, still really enjoying it. Wish there was more of a west coast PS4 community to partner up with.

Yeah, I'm usually done and off by 7:00 central, which I'm sure makes it tough. If you're ever on early enough, hop on in with us.

I am soooooooo jealous that you get to play Titanfall 2 for the first time. The campaign was absolutely wonderful!

I've found the Battlepass to be pretty slow going so far; I'm a little concerned that I won't finish it, even though this is literally the only game I'm playing on my own time. I have been switching Legends around to try and get the Daily First Kill bonus and spread the weekly bonus limit around, but it still seems slow.

The X factor in this is that level accrual will accelerate over time as you unlock more and more XP boosts, which are supposed to stack if you play with friends?
