The Division 2 - Catch All

Blacksabre - Sure - thats to aim for. I just relate more to the current reality, than what should be. And I can't count how many games where after release I wait for the 1.5 update - the expansion, the version 2.0, to make the game work, be fun, or have a model that is actually fun!
With games that are as complex, and have the scope that most Ubisoft games do, I am always kinda amazed by just how well their games work, and how few of the problems that plague their contempories, that Ubisoft has.

I just feel that that is worth aknowledging!

Patch notes 14/3
Source: https://forums.ubi.com/showthread.ph...

Weapons

  • We removed a work in progress weapon that was not properly named and balanced.
  • Crossbows now deal explosive damage to multiple objects as intended
  • Exotic weapons equipped with silencers will now produce the sound they’re intended to make.
  • NPCs engaged in combat will now react to grenades as intended.

Missions

  • The ropes will now deploy properly to allow for extraction at the end of the Beekeeper Jeff side mission.
  • Players should no longer be able to unlock Castle prematurely. This issue would block progression in some instances.
  • Fixed a loot exploit that involved repeatedly killing bosses in some Invaded missions.
  • In Jefferson Plaza, the NPC scene can no longer be interrupted during a boss fight.

PC specific

  • PC players playing together while connected to the same network were meeting a number of issues when interacting with each other. This has now been fixed.
  • On PC, FreeSync 2 HDR can now properly be selected in game regardless of your PC’s configuration.

Other

  • Stopped "SHD CPU V.2" and "Cyclone Magazine" skill mods from dropping as loot. Player's who already have the items can use them once they unlock the corresponding specialization perk.
  • Players will no longer get stuck on black screens after watching introduction cinematics.
  • We have updated XP rewards for all end game activities, so that they will scale to the player’s level, instead of being flat values.
  • Several corrupted audio issues have been fixed.

At the risk of being snarky, believe me I'm not trying to be snarky here, but shouldn't that just be the standard? I mean we're being thankful that a game is being released in a good state and that it just works, but honestly this should just be something that happens. As a customer paying money for a product, you expect the product to be delivered correctly and as advertised. When a product is defective and not meeting expectations then really that's not acceptable. To the companies that release games in half finished states and then "She'll be right mate, let's just give her a patch or two", that's just stupid.

I get that you can't get it perfect for everyone on day one and that lots of people will always have issues, that's expected. But releasing giant, buggy, unfinished messes shouldn't be something that we accept. Ever.

I agree it should be. Even Ubi doesn't always get it right, but they're definitely knocking it out of the park with this one. Yet their the only ones who even if they f*ck it up at launch are there to bring back broken games from the brink and make them special.

RB6, For Honor, GR:Wildlands... each of those were busted ass games at launch and now each one are bringing in more people all the time due to their changes and fixes.

I haven't seen confirmation yet. I won't be joining until standard release day, so I can't create one early. If it hasn't been created by the time I get to that point, I'll put in for an AgentsWithJobs clan. If anyone else creates the PS4 clan early, please post.

Add Division 1 to the list. People tend to forget what a mess the game was at launch.

Maybe I don't remember something but IIRC Division 1 worked fine at launch. At least from the technical point of view.

D1 worked fine for me, but that was because I bought it when the Gold Edition hit $30... whatever number of months later... you early-adopters are my bug-testers

Not in the slightest. Large groups of people were unable to play for a month or more after launch due to all the issues.

How cool would it be to pick up SHED TECH!

This legit confused me for a long time.

With a single player game on a console I would agree. But on PC, you can't know how things will work until you get it out into the wild. Each PC is different enough that they can't predict how timing of things will work. And if you add multiplayer, server load is an issue you can only be sure of once you launch. Betas help but only so much. I think the division is working well because it is probably using an updated The Division 1 servers which have been tuned repeatedly.

But talking about servers, I definitely have been experiencing some game affecting lag, even though my time has been mostly single player. In most battles I have at least one or two times I push the mouse button and my gun fires at least 1 second after.

Dumb question: how do I upgrade the theater?

Run missions, projects and liberate the local areas. The upgrading itself happens automatically as you do those things. The specific effects of missions and projects are shown in their descriptions.

Been playing a little since Tuesday and enjoying the game a ton. Played D1 a ton as well (3/4 shields....still need to grind a few more for the 4th but probabaly wont).
I'm taking my sweet time to level as it's just so much fun. See ya in game.

What's everyone's favorite gun?

I like using the M60 or M249. That 100 round mag is nice.

Just got the extended magazine upgrade for the Police M4. 60 rounds now is a treat.

Still waiting for my key from AMD... *sigh*

I love extended mag!
Right now, I'm loving the Model 700. Have avoided snipers but this thing has the range perk and 30% headshot damage mod.

Another thing that should be "normal" however certainly has not been as of late in sequels is the fact that it's a step forward from D1 2019 not just a step forward from D1 at release. So many major missteps like Destiny 2 which took them 1 year to get back to where Destiny 1 left off. All of the fixes and good things that Division added in over the years are all in D2 from the start (minus Survival which I 100% will be an expansion at some point). Once you hit lvl 30 and beat all the content the game is just getting started. Raids are coming but the current end game still has tons of stuff to do.

Ranalin, just noticed your level 30! How the heck you level so fast. So cool.

Just head down and did the story and settlement missions. Constantly upgrading along the way.

Very little concern about builds or stats. Just whatever gave me the most armor and damage.

For me the real game is starting now while trying to move up the world tiers. Compared to Div1 the end game seems to be very deep.

This is also essentially ignoring the darkzone outside of doing the introductory missions.

I heard someone say to hold off on the side-missions until later, as they’re worth more ‘later’. I know that in Div1 I’d hold off on collecting all the phones, etc, until I hit 30 because the xp-gain was tied to your level (world-level didn’t matter). Getting those extra caches for each “level” (10k xp, or whatever it was) you gained past 30 gave you that many more chances for some nice gear.
