Random non sequitur posts catch-all thread

Look, just go the other way. Publish your masturbation yourself and monetize it. Why give in to them if you can take power for yourself?

EDIT: Being the first post on a new page with this content makes me feel very self conscious.

Somehow RNRClown's post on the Escapist thread in D&D got deleted. Like, it still shows him as the last updated but the post is gone, not edited.

I remember seeing it and disagreeing but it didn't have anything particularly offensive, and I certainly can't delete my own posts. It's weird.

My guess is it got modded out of existence, because he's on probation when it comes to D&D posts.

Had some problems with porch pirates around here. One lady got caught on camera and the video was posted on next door. She ended up getting arrested and spent two weeks or so locked up. Funny thing, when she got out she posted on next door which caused all kinds of drama.

I don't know how I feel about this. Should a confirmed criminal be allowed on next door? She posted what she went through in life which was rough but nothing she posted gave her a pass for stealing in my mind. She was kind of upset by how people were painting her.

Two fine examples of African-Americans in cinema to celebrate Black History Month.

Urban Outfitters charging $40 for a 5-pack of used VHS movies

The lesson here is that I am an idiot for getting rid of most of what I owned in the 90s. I could of resold all of it, my games, clothes, movies, food, EVERYTHING at a 500% markup today and been rich.

I mean, one the one hand, if you can find someone dumb enough to pay for it, fine. On the other hand, the brass-plated BALLS it takes to ACTUALLY DO THIS.

Hrm. I think my parents still have all my old He-Man VHS tapes sitting in the attic.

I have almost every Showa era Godzilla movie taped on VHS except for Godzilla Raids Again and Destroy All Monsters. I wonder how much I could get for those?

I'll take the confirmed petty thieves over the racists. And I greatly dislike thieves.

Hell, I think I've got a pre-special edition Star Wars VHS. Ebay tells me I can a good twenty bucks for that.

Still no desire to play Fortnite, but I saw an ad on youtube for Fortnite dances and the thought of defeating everyone and doing a jig afterwards is highly encouraging.

If I am to play a battle royale game though, there's other options. It will have more than battle royale but Planetside 2 Arena is coming soon and Respawn's Apex: Legends seems neat if I didn't have to install Origin.
And yes there is Tetris Battle Royale, but no.

Sometimes I have that problem!-sorta maybe. I'm interested in a video on a science or math topic so it's a high-level abstract part of my brain paying attention, but either I am tired or the part of my brain keeping me awake just isn't interested or paying attention.

Pretty decent I'd wager.

There is something about the battle sequence in Pokemon Let's Go that puts both my wife and I to sleep. The music, the little bit of waiting before input, the ritual of the fight. I'll make my move, look over, and she is nodding off. Then she'll do hers, it will do the battle stuff, and then I'm like *whuh! huh?* waking up to do it all over again.

Turn off Pokemon and go back to doing other things and we're both fine.

I’m so glad I sold that game back to the store.

I always thought I didn't like monster collecting games. Turns out I just don't like Pokémon.

Have you ever needed to get your horse to the tow path on the other side of a canal, but didn't want to unfasten the rope? The people in Cheshire have got you covered.

h/t to Futility Closet, which is a site seemingly made just for this thread.

I enjoy Waypoints with and think Natalie has a lot of good points but my god in heaven do hate it when she just continually studders, repeating a single words and "like" and "and" for a solid 30 seconds.

Patrick and Rob do it too but they do it more quickly and/or cede time to others as they gather their thoughts.

1) Bummed, when tonight's game night gets rescheduled.
2) Excited, when you realize that you'll get to watch Sands stream Dark Souls!

Finding Girl Talk songs on youtube by searching "girl talk" is surprisingly difficult.

Well, I guess it's only surprising because I'm not a teenage girl.

Did you find this instead?

PSAFYI for my friend Justin Case: all Girl Talk's stuff is downloadable. Dope ish yo.

I just discovered "The Adventure Zone"!

Or alternatively, I just discovered the wealth of fan-created animatics of TAZ available online. I see I have not been keeping up with what's cool in the SLIGHTEST because I am WAY behind.

Oh, damn, I'm jealous of what you've got in front of you.

Eh, don't get too jealous. My podcast queue is absolutely jam-packed already, I don't know if I have space for another (or two, if we fold in MBMBaM).

Tonight at work certificates were given to two of my coworkers, one for being with the company three years, the other, along with a cheap keychain, for ten years.

They were both shocked. Particularly since the first had only been with the company for one year and the latter for only three.

I've worked in places that seemed to have a time-dilation effect. But I've never seen it get formally recognized.

Give the first three episodes of Adventure Zone a try. You might find you drop some other podcasts in favor of it until the end of the run. I think it is better than MBMBAM and they are unrelated to each other, you don't miss out on anything if you skip the other one.

MAKE SPACE! It really is more entertaining/performance than a typical podcast. The fan art is overflowing because it's such an immersive, fun story that people connect to. I wish I could listen to it again for the first time.

Yup. TAZ is my favorite podcast, period.
