Interest thread: GWJFL Next

Pages

In short, is there any interest in another GWJFL league to start when GWJFL 2005 finishes (in about 2-3 weeks)?

Discuss anything you like (settings, commitment, etc.) but please try to keep it in context (i.e. about GWJFL). Thanks.

Edit: I'm going to try to stay "hands off" with this thread and let you guys discuss amongst yourselves. So if you don't see me posting here, don't sweat it, I'm watching you, always watching.

I''m interested, and it will be good for everyone to know that I will be switching my ISP to the other crappy one in town. So hopefully there will be no more connection problems. I vote for All Pro, EQ on... but would be fine with EQ off too.

I can''t say yes, but I couldn''t say no.

All-Pro
EQ - I care not
Topless Cheerleaders - A must

I''d be down. Though, would everyone hate me if I didn''tpick the Lions?

Yes.

I think I''ll be done with the football after the 2005 league wraps up. It''s been an excellent run but I''m ready for a break before the next wave of football titles hits.

before the next wave of football titles hits.

Don''t you mean football title.

I''m in... hopefully the Panthers can stay injury free this time and actually have a Team Offense score above 55.

Don''t you mean football title .

I still cling to the tiny hope that Take 2 and Visual Concepts will have a non-official but still simulation football game out

Oh you poor, deluded lad. Worry not, it will come. And it will be carried by unicorns.

I''m in!

*edit*
I''d actually prefer it if we kept EQ on, but I''m not partial to any particular difficulty level.

I would be interested.

I prefer All-Pro and NO EQ. But EQ isn''t a deal breaker.

I am in as well and I definitely would like EQ off. I want to see if I can test my new and improved ""nice SpyNavy"" mode when I play this game :).

I''m ready for the next one

All-Pro, no EQ. EQ may or may not be a dealbreaker for me.

You guys using ESPN 2k5?

I just ordered an Xbox and love football but haven''t played any of the ESPN titles so don''t know how badly I would suck. I''d give it a go though if you were to start another season.

I think it would be nice to at least get one more season in before our love for online football gaming is sodomized with a broom handle repeatedly until it can taste splinters.

The more, the merrier.

EA WILL MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER

THERE''S NO NEED TO RESIST

Yep ESPN is the poison of choice for the league - welcome to the pain You''ll have a lot of fun.

I''m ready and willing. May be a bit of ISP interruption with my move in three weeks, but nothing too serious, I hope.

All-Pro, no EQ. EQ may or may not be a dealbreaker for me.

I will jump on the firm ""no EQ"" bandwagon as most don''t seem to care one way or another but the ""no''s"" are adamant.

We don''t need yet another articficial level of AI corrections on top of the already peculiar AI that exists.

To review: EQ would give the Lions a chance at playing good, whereas No-EQ makes them play like... the Lions?

I am definitely in the mind of no EQ, but I will play regardless - I like my pain :). Be the ball....

I thought we had decided that the random cases of ""dropsies"" were a result of the Legendary setting and not the EQ, right? Or am I wrong? All-pro, EQ on is the only setting we''ve yet to try. And we might be playing this football game for the next ten years, so shouldn''t we try to find the best setup?

I am game either way, but I have far less dropsies on my Legendary EQ off team - then again my Legendary EQ on team was the Bucs so it isnt really a fair comparison... I have high hopes that Madden 2006 will be a good game and I will buy it just for the new rosters simply because I have neither the time nor the patience to try to configure a team to match real world rosters.

That''s the theory.

I''ll pick this up once the Xbox shows. I''m willing to take a pounding... Yeah so that didn''t come out quite right.

btw what is this EQ thing we are discussing?

If I remember right, instead of teams having their own specific pros & cons for Offense and Defense stats, the EQ setting will put all teams, no matter how good or bad they are stat-wise, on an even level.

EQ on or off doesn''t matter to me. I''m just itching to play.

That''s not quite accurate.

I was browsing the 2k5 boards looking for some information on if/when the next roster update is going to come out (it always seems to be within a week after I start a new league) and came across this FAQ:

26. [NFL2K5] What does ""Performance EQ"" really do?

If you have performance EQ enabled all player attributes get adjusted so there is less difference between a good value and a bad value. What this amounts to is poor players performing better and all stars performing worse. All stars will still perform better than poor players but not by as much as with EQ disabled. So the Patriots will still be a better team than the Browns, but with EQ enabled the Browns at least have a chance of winning. :)

Grumpy, I don''t feel like reading that, could you give me a ring and read it to me?

Sure, just post your number here and I''ll call you right away.
