COMMUNISM!

Did you call me?

I'll be on 2/14 at 5:30pm est as the anthem page in origin says that is the premiere release date/time...although everywhere else says 2/15.

Where are us PC players meeting up for parties? Should we try to hook up for some Apex to get used to some of the new friends we may be making (such as myself)?

There will be on demand channels in discord at the start

And it being a big MMOesque launch … don't expect it to be super playable on that premiere release day

We will EXPLODE their servers.

And now an Akira commerical is playing in my head. I wonder if I can finda digital copy of the Akira OST to have as BGM for my Antheming...

Sigh. I'm probably going to get this because of Bioware and FOMO (fear of missing out). I'll have fun and get my money's worth, but I suspect when I finally stop playing, I'll wish I had just played a bunch of single player games instead.

Also, quest givers should complain loudly and often about how much you charge for completing their quests and never consider things such as: your services require years of training that you've likely paid a substantial amount to receive, the time you spend *actually doing the quest* is only a small portion of the time you spend on any given gig and that your fee needs to bake in additional hours spent prepping / maintaining equipment and skills / sending e-mails and negotiating / paying for health insurance, and you are actually *cutting them a huge deal* because you spent several weeks without a good quest and are hungry.

LMAO.
Quest givers also balk at paying your fees because they're sure their nephew could take the same contract at 1/4 the price.

An actual mechanic in Witcher 3.

I am in on the 14th and even took a day off on the 15th. Optimistic or stupid?

It's been a long time since I felt this excited about a new release, it's a good feeling.

Nah, I think the 15th will be mostly fine, as the "wave" of players will likely be on the 22nd. The open demo shows some evidence that they can handle the numbers that the PC will likely show out. Anyways, Im taking that day off too.

I agree. The 14th may be somewhat bumpy but I think that the 22nd will be the roughest for trying to login.

Considering getting Origin Premier for a couple of months. If I’m right, that’ll be cheaper than getting Anthem at full price and allow me to play this weekend. I doubt I’m going to engage with the game’s multiplayer too much so a couple of months should be enough time.

Update: This is exactly what I did. Anthem is $80.00 CAD to pre-order and not available until the 22nd. EA Premier Access is $20.99 CAD per month and I get all the bonuses as someone who pre-ordered the Legion of Dawn edition. I just finished AC Odyssey (after 150 hours...) and could use the next couple of days to not play games while I wait for Friday.

The only people who can play tonight are Origin Premier, right? I have a copy my friend gave me when he upgraded his vid card, I'm thinking that it's the 22nd I can play.

Premier gets full access today. Origin basic gets access tonight but has 10 hour limit until 22nd.

No one can play tonight. It was an Origin error ----that was up for months. Theyre clarified this in a stream last night. 12:00 EST is the opening.

12 noon EST today or midnight?

Tomorrow.

2/15/2019 @ 12 noon est

or 15/2/19 depending on where you are : p

Still mixed signals because i just came to post the youtube of the stream and they say it's 9am CST Friday for Early Access at the 2 minute mark. Still not 100% sure if this means Premiere as well.

It does. They got dragged on stream last night.

EA has been really bad about this. Apparently the unlock is now tomorrow and when you look at their charts, it's unclear if/when Origin Access (the basic one) unlocks the 10 hour trial. They seem to be purposely obfuscating things to push folks to buy premier in a panic.

Ah probably.

A also have 0 faith that the "Origin error" on the 5 pm. thing was an error and they are not just pushing it back to get more time to actually get it working.

It's probably more "We'd rather our engineers be rested and starting their day when this thing gets hammered, rather than having to pull an all-nighter right out of the gate." And maybe they're hoping that starting at the beginning of a school/work day instead of an evening will soften the initial blow.

The time and day is weird enough that it screams error to me. The fact they left it listed like that for so long was pretty dumb though.

Except the devs have been consistently saying the 15th and 22nd will be the launch dates. Certis is on the DLC podcast this week and said that EA's left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, which is mostly correct, except that EA is evidently a spider, so their second front left leg doesn't know what any of the other seven legs is doing.

As evidence, see the new Neil Blomkamp Anthem thing that just dropped. Is it a trailer for the game, a series, a movie? Who knows?

Movie's also say releasing Friday. But you can go watch them at 5 p.m. the night before. Midnight showings on those big movies went 6-7 hours earlier years ago and have just kind of stuck that way. Which i'm both happy/mad about. It certainly means I can go more often. However those late night packed theater were kind of fun events.

Being there for the abysmal launch hell in a multiplayer game helps build community - shared war stories, 'Oh I remember when we queued for 8 hours straight and then got booted after 30 seconds', has to happen for it to be a proper launch. See, that's where Respawn messed up
