So, it sounds like Tre Jones' injury is an AC joint separation (clavicle meets scapula?), and recovery time can be anywhere from a week to 12 weeks.
That could be season ending, and maybe it should be. You don't want him coming back too soon and exacerbating the injury (and potentially costing him his playing career!)
Down goes Michigan. Wisconsin wins at home by 10
Time for the Vols to step up today:

......whew. Barely.
Yeah, that was a closer game than I would have expected.
If UVA wins vs Duke today, I expect them to take the #1 slot. if they lose, Tennessee should take it.
UNC won at Miami in another semi-ugly game (in a place that seems strangely dangerous to Triangle ACC teams), so I don't have to flip tables or anything.

Thing is, with TN's game that close at home, they might still not make #1 if UV loses close. And I'm fine with that.
Duke survives at home over UVA. Close game.
I don't really think that beating the only remaining undefeated team (ranked #4) outweighs losing at home to an unranked Syracuse. This makes me believe we'll see Tennessee at #1, followed by Duke, Gonzaga, UVA, Michigan.
Maybe not in that exact order.
I think Tenn should be #1 as well.
Also, 6-way tie for #1 in the ACC right now.
Go figure. That should sort itself out over the next couple of weeks.
Annnd down goes FSU. Again.
Ky Bowman was sensational for BC, with 34 points. FSU was hampered by the absence of Phil Cofer, but in general it was another wacky day in the ACC.
As expected, Tennessee takes the top spot.

FSU drops out after too many consecutive losses (they're better than that, but they have stopped playing like it since the Duke loss).
Tonight's UNC / VT matchup should be interesting. Hopefully the Tarheels can pull off the victory.
Solid 21 pt victory over the Hokies for the Tarheels tonight. Not sure where the 3pt shooting came from, but it was contagious once it (finally) got started. Maybe a breakout game for Nassir Little, too. Wouldn't mind seeing him play up to the preseason hype.
Sorry Stele, I guess we got a little revenge for the absolute CRUSHING defeat you handed to us a few weeks ago. UNC appears to have played reasonably well while I was on vacation, maybe I can convince the school to fund me on some kind of perpetual vacation going forward!
Some other "fun" games / events over the past week... Michigan St losing at home to Indiana (that didn't look like a team that had lost 7 straight), Kansas going down again to Texas, Michigan losing to Iowa?! NCSU throwing up the lowest point total in the shot clock era, etc, etc.
Tennessee still looks solid, and I suspect the upcoming Duke / UVA rematch in Charlottesville will be a fun game to watch. UNC's got NCSU this week, and I see Louisville's schedule doesn't get any easier this week with VT, FSU, and Duke. Gah. That's BRUTAL.
My wife got me tickets to UT vs UK at Rupp for Valentines Day. Should be exciting. I think KY could be a problem for UT, especially in Lexington. Last year, the Vols swept them, so they'll be out for a bit of revenge.

Nice score! That's a great gift.
I think Tennessee has the experience and talent to fend off UK, but you never know.
Have a great time! I'll probably be watching from the house.
Well Louisville beats top 10 VaTech for the 15th time in a row. I barely remember them back in the metro but can't recall the last loss in 1991. Haha.
5 days of hard earned rest before FSU.
Take a really long nap... like 6 days worth

Was it just me, or did Coach Williams look MAD at the end of that game? He BLEW past Chris Mack in the post-game shake hands line with kind of a cursory "good game," look.
This is why I am having a hard time staying interested in KU this season. I can't defend what Jayhawk basketball has become. Seeing KU fans upset about De Silva's suspension is ridiculous. Once the story broke, he should have been kicked off the team.
UNC wins another one vs NCSU in a high scoring affair. Kansas goes down to K-State, Michigan St. loses at Illinois, and Marquette falls to St. Johns.
Conference play is just fraught with peril, it seems.
Not to look past this weekend's game against Miami, but I think UNC's next real test will be against UVA next Monday. The potential for ugly is prominent there.
I'm kind of shocked at Michigan State on the 2 line. They've not been playing well as of late. Maybe as a 3 or 4. Kansas too, given the recent stretch and changes in playing personnel.
Meanwhile, UNC escapes in OT at home over Miami. I dunno what it is about Miami, but they typically seem to have UNC's number.
More great basketball on the docket today! Top 25 matchup between FSU and Louisville, and capping it with the Duke / UVA game.
What a game for FSU. Louisville gave them one heck of a game in Tallahassee.
