Marvel Media (Spoiler Thread)

LOL @ the thread title.

Does the inclusion of the Lego Death Star in Spider-Man Homecoming mean that the Lego Star Wars storyline is part of the MCU canon?

It turns out that during the couple hour gap between Rogue One and A New Hope Peter Parker somehow got hold of the plans.

Edit: Actually this would fit in remarkably well with the overall plot of Homecoming.

Parker: I met a Space Princess! She gave me the plans for a super weapon!

Happy: That's great kid, stay safe out there.

Parker: But... what should I do!?

Happy: I dunno? Give it back I guess? Look, Moving Day is coming up, it's a whole thing.

Did I see some while back someone talking about a Spider Gwen show that will be coming out? My daughter is eating it all up right now and I am hoping we get some great shows from Into the Spiderverse

I don't think there's a date set for it or anything. They talked about show's spinning off of S-V and a Spider-Ladies movie starring Gwen I believe.

Marvel Rising has Spider Gwen I think. I've seen it pop up in the Marvel HQ youtube channel.

Spider-Verse has a way better Kingpin than Daredevil S1's laughable attempt.

I liked both of them. I don't really get the hate for Daredevil's Kingpin, both the writing and acting were solid.

Kingpin in Daredevil was fantastic. Easily one of the best marvel villains for me and I didn't really like daredevil as much of other people. The shining scene for me is when he realizes he is the bad guy.

I'm gradually making my way through the X-Men series of films. Logan is still my favouite with Days of Future Past in second place.

It's got me thinking, should I revisit the 90's animated series? I watched it as a kid but I think I'd appreciate it more now (sadly, I'm more interested in superheroes as a 34 year old). But does the show still hold up? Or is it one of those iconic shows that appear better in one's memory?

Does a mall babe eat chili fries?

Honestly, just watch this Jean Grey supercut.

Spoiler:

In seriousness, 90s X-Men Animated is like a lot of other stuff from that time period. Partly enjoyable camp, partly just-plain-bad, but with occasional standout episodes and flashes of actual brilliance.

I think it's still watchable today if you know what you're getting yourself in for, and especially if you have the Nostalgia Goggles to watch with affection even when it stumbles. It's not, on balance, "good," but it can be a good time.

I still remember, as a kid, watching the third episode where Magneto tries to bust Beast out of prison and Beast is just like, nuh-uh. I'm-a chill here and quote poetry and have my day in court. And they have a little debate about the most effective means of resistance while the guards are plinking away at Magneto's force field with their laser guns.

This was something different than the usual Saturday morning cartoon fare. Scenes like that still hold up pretty all right, even if there's a lot of silliness surrounding it.

Fully agreed.
That show defined the X-Men for a generation.
It was both awesome how many characters they crammed in if only for a cameo and so bad in terms of the source material story butchering.
Also, if you hated X-Men Origins : Wolverine, I think you can at least partially blame it on the episode where Wolverine meets Captain America.

Punisher s2 is really... not very good.

Superb Owl trailers:

The Endgame one was perfect. Still not spoilery.

I hope that’s all Marvel puts out before the movie.

The expressions on Caps face there was just perfect....Chris Evans just nails it.

End Game might have an intermission?

Bring it. I saw Hateful Eight during the 70mm screenings, and it had an intermission. It was actually nice to be able to take a break from all the murderin' and go to the bathroom.

Would probably up concessions. I know if a movie is long, I'll probably not buy as big a drink to limit myself Plus people would buy more while they're on intermission.

According to one person's unsourced tweets, to be clear.

Why not go the whole route and stick an overture at the beginning?

Hence the question mark in my post.

They do, they just changed the name of it to Trailers.

Beat me to it

Yeah. When Chris Evans Cap dies I'm going to be sad.

The model for Rocket, Oreo, died. He was ten years old which is old for a raccoon.

That’s pretty brilliant

Brilliant

That's rad.
