Dude! You need to spoiler it if you're just going to a picture of a piece of sh*t.

Fair enough and if I am honest it is funnier that way.

NSFW tag, please.

Mikey Neumann mentioned this video in his 2018 Fave Five segment on Black Panther, and I finally got around to watching it. This video shows what a massive talent Ryan Coogler is, and how much detailed planning goes into even a few minutes of one of his action sequences. He and his crew paid as much attention to the details of this scene as they would have for any slower sequence where the audience had time to take it all in. From the coordination of actors not even looking at each other, to the elements of Wakandan culture and femininity, to what he calls the "color story" of costuming and environment, the musical score, even the technical practical camera motion techniques. An astounding amount of work went into this short clip. Multiply this by hundreds of shots in the movie and the scale of the work becomes apparent.

Another reason I love this video is that I have an extreme fetish for watching extraordinarily talented people describe their work.

I think it's a shame he didn't get a director Oscar nomination, but there are some real heavyweights in the lineup this year. In particular, Spike Lee is waaay overdue for an Oscar, given his body of work. Ryan Coogler is 32, and I suspect he has many great films ahead of him. Spike Lee is 61, and has already directed and produced 24 movies, several of which are seminal works. But even he is up against Alfonso Cuaron, whose Roma is sensational in every way. Then there are the directors of Vice, Cold War, and The Favourite, all of which are well deserved nominations.

Finish the punisher. Unfortunately this is now the worse marvel show season for me. Ironically season 1 was the best for me.

I didn't like the design for jigsaw. That guy is attractive as hell. I'd make out with him. Jigsaw is suppose to have a ruined face not a few scratches. His name is jigsaw for a reason. I could never buy he was broken by looking a little worse.

Half of the story is about guy trying to kill a girl. I have no idea why he is trying to kill her. They probably stated it and I missed it. Maybe they could have said it more than once or talked it over a bit. At one point one character ask why the preacher is after her. However, Castle is like tell the story later there is no time now. I'm like son of a B.

The pacing was just bad. Way to many flashback moments. I get it, Frank misses his family. Lets get on with the killing.

A bunch of minor things didn't make sense to me. Why is this one guy showering at franks place when he has a place. We never see a confrontation over a stolen credit card. No one points out how crazy someone is acting except for a cop. A character from another show is brought in but should have been used sooner. On the other hand another character is used perfectly.

I did like the fight scenes. The girl's arch was cool even if I have no idea why they want to kill her.

I also just finished S2 of Punisher.

- Agree on Jigsaw. Curtis has a couple of scars of his own on his face. They really failed by building it up with the mask only to reveal......he has some facial scars. Sill looks attractive. Doesn't seem to be enough to even warrant hiding his face in public other than to pull a hoodie over his head, which doesn't even cover his face.

- Pacing is a problem for every Marvel Netflix season. Starts off with a couple good episodes only to slow down way too much in the middle, and then speed through the end. Every season would have been better as 10 episodes rather than 13.

- They tried to intertwine 2 story lines and it mostly failed. Would have been better to break the season out into part 1 and part 2 rather than get us into the story with the girl and John only to basically drop it in the middle and then expect us to remember the details of it 8 episodes later.

I liked it, but it wasn't my favorite. Not enough strategic Punisher. Too much walking into the middle of a s*&tstorm and rely on pure willpower and some luck to make it out alive.

Agreed, they fumbled it this season of Punisher.

Spoiler:

It's like they couldn't find a way to build the main storyline into a full season so brought back Billy Russo because he was comfortably familiar. And this is a guy who killed a dozen or more DHS agents and then wasn't even in handcuffs.

Then the climax of the season ends up being Frank kills two old people. Sheesh.

Spoiler:

She had film that had pictures of a senator kissing another guy. The Seantor's parents had plans for the senator to be president, so, like normal people, they hired people to get the pictures back and kill anyone who knew about it.

It was mentioned, very briefly at the beginning and hinted at near the end.

Lots of dead people over a kiss. They couldn't find a better storyline in like the million years the comics been out. Thanks for letting me know.

Having one big "Marvel Media" thread is a terrible idea.

I mean....

Fair enough

(My comment was tongue-in-cheek, though. It definitely can get confusing, but I seem to recall there being a lot of back and forth on spoilers and Clock getting tired of trying to differentiate the two with her threads)

Right, people say this, forgetting there are TWO Marvel threads. Spoiler and non-spoiler

The problem is there are a ton of Marvel movies and shows and someone might come in here to discuss Infinity War or Captain Marvel and end up reading spoilers for The Punisher, which they haven't finished yet.

At least with a thread dedicated to a specific movie or TV show, I know not to read new posts in the thread if I'm not caught up. I have no problem with a general Marvel thread to discuss the inter-relation of Marvel properties. It should be distinct from threads devoted to the individual movies and shows.

Also the thread title doesn't say anything about the thread containing spoilers.

This is the open spoilers version of the other Marvel Media thread. In this thread, you are responsible for what you read. You should expect that anything and everything related to any Marvel movie or TV show can have spoilers posted without warning, up to and including brand new releases.

It's always been this way. You just forgot

THANK YOU, CLOCK

OK, now I'm confused. Should I have marked any of my previous post as spoilers?

Only if Quintin read them.

No. Quintin just can't read.

Which, if true...

Vader is Luke's father.

Technically not Marvel.

Does the inclusion of the Lego Death Star in Spider-Man Homecoming mean that the Lego Star Wars storyline is part of the MCU canon?

No, it means that Marvel is now part of Star Wars canon.
