Fork it! We need a thread for The Good Place (Spoilers!)

Ooooo. I doubt it, but ooooo.

That was heartbreaking.

Yeah. Eleanor shaking her head no as she was trying to tell Chidi how confident she was, and how everything was going to be ok..

I am still in denial about that episode being the season finale. I want another episode next week, thanks.

Oh! I didn't realize we had a dedicated thread for the show.

Yep

I concur with all the reactions. I demand more!

If you're into podcasts and you aren't already listening to it, you really should add The Good Place Podcast to your rotation. Hosted expertly by Mark Evan Jackson (who plays Shawn), they have people from all different creative expertise who are involved with the show (actors, show runner, writers, costumers, FX, location scouts, etc.) to talk about the show in general and one episode, specifically. Yeah, they have a podcast for every single episode of the show. I'm almost as sad about the podcast being over as the show being done for the season.

The podcast for S3's finale is pretty good, although a lot of it is (rightfully) praising performances. Most interesting to me was that Michael Schur (the show runner and director for the ep) talked about how he was inspired by Cinema Paradiso for the scene with Eleanor and Chidi at the end, even stealing some shots.

Saw this thread pop up so tagging in. We're caught up except for last week's s3 finale. So I'm not reading the 2nd page yet.

What a finish. This show is really astonishing. It just keeps reinventing itself in new ways.

Yeah what a great show, also if you're watching this and not watching Brooklyn 99 or Parks & Rec then get on it. All from Fremulon and great shows. Once Parks & Rec moves through the 1st season you can see where they got chops for the other shows.

I'm so tempted but my podcast backlog is large as-is, and I'd obviously have to listen to every episode...

I love this show but I also kind of hope they plan to end it soon. Maybe 2 more seasons? Although really, I keep thinking "well where can they possibly go with THAT" and they find a way, so maybe my anxiety is not well-founded, but I just hope they avoid a)an unceremonious cancellation that leaves the story incomplete and b)going on too long and getting bad. Certainly b is infinitely less likely than a, given their track record, but I feel this show has been such a gift already, I will be happy when they can put a bow on it and declare it a perfect finished product.

Yeah I definitely hope they are able to end on their own terms. So far it's been amazing

Relevant!

Literally. Rebooting the story every season. I LOvE IT!

Fourth season to be the last season. But intentionally so on the creative team's part, so hopefully we'll have a well planned out ending to the whole thing.

I'll be sad to see it go, but it's definitely for the best to end strong.

Shame, but you can only take the idea so far before getting too whacky.

Endings are important

I’m okay with this. They’ve gotten exactly the number of episodes they planned for right from the start so hopefully it’ll wrap up really nicely.

Aww. I'll miss the show and the podcast, my chili babies.

Almost time for the new season. MAXIMUM DEREK!

I'm rewatching on Netflix to prepare. Mid season 2 already.

The nbc app has a 6 part miniseries (12 minutes total or so) that shows the demons selecting the new test subjects. Definitely worth checking out.

It's also over here on their website: https://www.nbc.com/the-good-place/e...

I’m a season or so back. Is the new stuff on Netflix?

Yeah season 3 just popped up about 2 weeks ago.

Season 4 starts soon on NBC, maybe next week. So then you can watch new episodes on the NBC website or on Hulu, but only the last 5 episodes.

So need to catch up on season 3 in less than a month. But it's only 12 episodes.

This is a show I much more enjoy binging than watching week to week. Last season I watched the first week when it premiered, waited several weeks to watch 2 and 3 back to back, and then waited too long and earlier episodes were gone from Hulu. Now I can do 2 or three episodes a night at my leisure.

The show is also absolutely designed to be freeze framed.
