Cartoon watchers with jobs

Blarg! I saw a Steven Universe spoiler on youtube home page, woe is me.

Also, anyone who likes Ingrid Nilson's voice should check out Littlest Petshop: A World of Our Own, she plays Jade Catkin. Finally a moe show I can get behind.

Oh sh*t! Suddenly I give a rat's ass about the Oscars.
Isle of Dogs and Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse are both nominated for Animated Movie of the Year.

Also, I love Spider-Gwen (she also appears to be the same Gwen as in the other, didn't make it to theaters movie plus prequel short series they got, Initiation or Uprising or something) and I couldn't figure out just why, but then I realized, she's exactly like the Spider-Man from the 90s animated series, which I loved and adored.

Is anyone else here watching the new Danger Mouse? We're in season two and it's so wonderful.

Randomly came across the imdb page of Alfur's voice actor (from Hilda) and saw that he plays Count Duckula in this. So, hell yes, very soon probably.

edit: I mean, I watched a couple of the first ones I'm sure, but didn't go back to it.

Count Duckula is in Danger Mouse? That is like having Darkwing Duck in Duck Tales. Oh wait a minute Duckula first showed up in Danger Mouse before he had his own show.

I'm on season 2 of Invader Zim. Okay, it's finally gotten good. I think I'm starting to get it.

Yeah, Duckula began on DM before getting his own show.

Man Young Justice has some gruesome this season. Prepare yourself for episode 11.

oof. this.

That said, still great.

I finished the new 4 episodes and I went to start the next episode of Titans and noticed... Batman: TAS remastered.

I love and respect the sh*t out of this show but I haven't seen in it 20+ years. Not really.

So I watched On Leather Wings. An episode I remember not giving a sh*t about (I think Man-Bat is dumb). but I watched it.

Holy sh*t it's incredible. I'm not going to ramble on about TAS because I don't need to, others have been more eloquent about it, but it's amazing this exists. The music is great, the writing is great, Kevin Conroy is a treasure. Hell, the Man-Bat transformation, in only a few frames of animation was so terrifying I'm not sure I want to show my kids yet.

I don't regret my DCU sub yet. I still think I will, but 3 months or so feels justified until some more stuff comes out.

Gen:Lock on rooster teeth is great. It is a giant mech show with a western feel. However, judging by the end credits it is going to turn more into a gundam show.

The first episode is free. I'm not sure if the show will be behind a pay wall or if they will do public releases a week later.

Just canceled my sub to DCU. I seen everything on there already and don't have the time to rewatch stuff. Will re up in jun when young justice is back on.

So my kids are watching the Netflix Carmen Sandiego show.
While the purest (Is there such a thing as CS purists?) in me dislikes the change in base story line, I love the animation style and the overall production is good. Netflix has cranked out alot of above average kiddie fare lately. This is of course ignoring how bad the "kids" filter is on Netflix.
Also get ready for the worst Aussie accent since Pryde of the Xmen.

Huh. Does the DC streaming service not have a PS4 app? I can't find it so far. That severely limits my interest in it, if so.

The Young Justice credits are slaying me. I was staring at the end of 11 going, "What the hell is that? Is that a

Yeah it is behind a paywall, rooster teeth 'first' subs are $5 a month or $35 a year(I think) and is great if you're a fan of their content(I watch a lot of Achievement Hunter and Funhaus) but I'm not exactly sure what benefit first would have for someone only interested in Gen:Lock. If you do end up doing a first sub Hardcore Tabletop and Achievement Haunter are both really good shows. One is Monopoly but with real money and another is a comedy take on a ghost hunting show.

Oh I forgot to mention if you have VRV you can watch Gen:Lock on there as RT is part of that ecosystem.

Finished 3Below. Loved the tron look for the aliens and their planet. The story was ok. A few of the Troll Hunter tie ins didn't work. They would have scenes from Troll Hunters that had zero connection to the story. All in all the over all story just wasn't solid enough but I still liked it.

My family (My wife and I and my two daughters) ended up binge watching this right after it came out and we can't wait for season 2. The base story line change is indeed an odd twist for me since I grew up on the original Broderbund DOS game and have played and watched every iteration since. That said it didn't end up detracting from the show once I accepted the change.

Oh and no discussion of Carmen Sandiego would be complete without this: Rockapella

We showed the kids an episode of the game show and they weren't nearly as amused as we were.

Anyone watch the second season of The Dragon Prince? Starting it now and halfway through the ifrst episode it seems like an improvement.

I'm half way through the second season. Seems about the same to me.

I enjoyed it! The animation is serviceable, but the writing is awfully fun. I love the complexity and grey area in how the villains are written mostly.

Started a while ago, watched some episodes and you know what, I have yet to notice the choppy animation of the first season... And now I'll be looking for it.

Didn't know second season was available yet, I'll have to binge that this weekend.

Ingrid Nilson is the voice of the non-Pinkie Pie sisters in MLP:FiM.
And that's the story of how I started watching Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own. (on Netflix)
As far as I can tell, Jade Catkin is closest to how she normally talks, all the sisters are artificial.

It's simple but not simplistic

The humor and comedy is probably exactly what kids like, but what I genuinely like is that generally their first instinct in solving a problem is to immediately go talk to their friends instead of it being a last resort. What a f*cking novel concept. Who knows, maybe that only comes about because the episodes are like 12 minutes long. It's great because there is almost no time for dilly-dallying, the characters have to be intelligent, trusting, and selfless to get anything done in that time frame.

Also, new season of Barbie: Dreamhouse Adventures is up on Netflix. PACE

HOLY sh*t why did nobody tell me Dragon Prince was SO GOOD! (Narrator: They did)

That hearing impaired General is BAD-ASS!

She's my favorite character!

By default, given whatever I saw of it advertised, I always dismissed Animation Domination High Definition (ADHD), but it has produced one spectacular series.

Golan the Insatiable!

I watched it on Hulu. Second season/reboot for Fox has Aubrey Plaza!

Watched the first 4 or so episode of Hilda. The show is great. I didn't care much for the first episode because I was confused at what was going on. After that though it is all good. Favorite moment so far was a creature destroying something and the mom notes it didn't even notice what it did. Then you see the mom doing the exact same thing to other creatures without knowing it.

She-Ra season 2 comes out on the 26th.

I loved both Hilda and She-Ra so, so much. Yikes! Can't wait for S2 of She-Ra coming so soon!

Justice League vs The Fatal Five is on on blu ray and dc universe. Ok movie, main selling point is that it is in the same universe as the justice league unlimited cartoon. Also some good points on mental health. The Ms Martian of Young Justice is so much better that this version was a big downgrade. The character wasn't bad just different in bad way. In this movie she basically Robin and not the cool Robin from Teen Titans or Young Justice. She is a sidekick being trained by batman.
