Post a video, entertain me!

That is/was a c*ck-up by Sony as the XB1X can.

I know streaming does a disservice to 4K, but is 4K moving units? Like, is it a thing?

Don’t get me wrong: I’d love to get a decent 4K setup for watching movies. But I don’t know that I know anyone IRL who has 4K discs and maybe not even a 4K display.

I actually kind of think that the reason the PS4 Pro doesn't do UHD Bluray is that they got tired of the game consoles cannibalizing their player sales. I don't think I have ever owned a stand-alone disc player of any kind and the PS2 was the first DVD player my family ever owned. Sony has a tendency to get very cocky when the Playstation is doing well. Just look at how they were early in the PS3's life when they were coming off of the PS2 which had basically crushed everything else. The PS4 Pro is going to sell to that market but there is overlap with people who might want a PS4 Pro and might want a UHD Bluray and this way Sony has a chance of selling them two devices.

The article I read said 4K discs are selling faster than anyone expected. Part of that, I think, is that broadband capable of feeding 4K tvs is not as common as 4K tvs.

Disney, despite being a late adopter, is now all-in and starting to release their back catalog on UHD Blu-ray discs.

BTW, not only can the Xbox One X play UHD discs, the Xbox One S can as well, making it one of the cheapest UHD Blu-Ray players available - just like the PS3 was for original Blu-Ray.

Why Is Duct Tape So Strong?

"Soup of empty buzzwords" is how I describe most management (particularly corporate) talk at work.

Looks like I need to watch Bo's movie.

As for everything else... HELL yeah.

I think until we get to Star Trek Holodeck levels of computer simulation, physics engines will never not be funny.

That was the funniest sketch from last night. This was a close second.

Really cool VFX for a short film. "FTL" - unfortunately not related to the game but still very well done.

Two things:

1) Why was that fool astronaut not putting on his helmet when he had a hull breach and his spacecraft was falling apart.

2) IT'S NOT HIM.

I am looking forward to the inevitable sitcom featuring the wacky hijinx of a fish-out-of-water alien intelligence in a human body, his loving family, and his robot neighbors.

What would the point be? Prolong his life by an hour or two for an inevitable death?

The space program works because we have RULES, kazar.

Rules and PROCEDURES.

There is a procedure for when you end up accidentally leaving your solar system? I would love to read what NASA says we should do in that situation.

p.s. that was a joke... I am apparently too convincing at faux outrage.

I know. I read it in a really sarcastic voice. But the point you made brought a real question to my mind. Do they have an actual procedure for that situation. Do astronauts train for near impossible outcomes such as alien abduction or warping to some strange new world.

No doubt they have procedures for first contact. Traveling through a wormhole... maybe not.

When leaving the solar system with no possibility of return;

1. Activate recording device and keep a detailed log in case the ship is ever recovered
2. Attempt to contact NASA
3. Enter the Waste Collection System Room
4. Remove spacesuit
5. Bend over as far as humanly possible
6. Kiss your ass goodbye

7. Use waste to grow potatoes.

Nostalgia. Especially this bit.

Hah! I love this.
