Xbox One Catch-all

I forgot how fun Mercenaries on the eXBox was, it looks pretty good on the Xbone, and Ninja Gaiden is still a pain in the ass.

Mercenaries is an all-time great. I'd love a remaster or third game.

Do we know how long the current $100 off of the XB1X sale will last?

I believe it ends today, Dec. 25.

Thanks again, you were correct. The 20% discount made convincing Mrs. Abu much easier.

One reason I play consoles is to *avoid* the horrid m/k setup in the first place.

THIS!

I'm sorry but this:

looks hellaciously awkward.

Once I got used to the controller with Halo, that was the end of me ever considering going back to PC gaming. Seriously, I sold my PC and bought a Mac. Suddenly I hated my computer less and enjoyed gaming more.

Good! I was bandying about the idea and then my fridge died.

Diff'rent strokes for different folks, I guess. I'm not using a laptop or the goofy phone caddy of course, but for a wireless keyboard/mouse it's perfectly comfortable.

I’d say that I’m m&k curious. I doubt that I’ll ever really try it.

I am definitely not feeling Below. I wanted to like it but after 1.5 to 2 hours it is mostly just boring me.

Same here, also, super frustrating at some point. On the good side, I love the art and sound on the game.

I'm in the same boat (ha). Especially since I started playing Ashen, which I'm enjoying a lot more.

Ashen is good but I'm so bad at it that I have to move to other games XD

Side note, the amount of games that we are getting with Game Pass in the last month is really good and of great quality too

So, is anyone using Xbox with Alexa? So far the voice commands work flawlessly (after a bit of setup headaches). I would like to create a routine/scene that would let me do something like start Netflix and turn down the room lights, but I can't seem to figure that out. I have read that it's possible, but...

(I also have a Logitec Harmony that may be able to do the same thing, whichever is the better tool)

Is anyone else having issues with their Xbox randomly forgetting that you have an active Game Pass subscription?

I noticed this after I set up my Xbox One X, and at first thought it might just be that everyone setting up their new Xboxes around Christmas was causing weirdness with logins, but it's still happening to me every few days. I'll look at "My Games and Apps" and not see the Game Pass tab, or I'll go to install a Game Pass game and will be told I need to buy a membership. Usually sometime soon after I will just randomly get a notification saying something like "welcome to Game Pass" and suddenly it's working again, but I have no idea why it keeps forgetting my status. Maybe it has something to do with me having 2 Xboxes in my house now? This is on my One X, which I have made my "home" Xbox.

If it's your 'home/primary' xbox and your account is the one that auto signs in then I'm not sure. It COULD be an issue with connectivity? But if you're able to navigate to the store then that shouldn't be it.

It welcomes my wife every time I sign out with her which I thought was funny, and only on the xbox where my account is the primary.

If it keeps it up you may need to contact support.

For the record non-home xbox's the access to that thing is dependent on being connected to the internet.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 will be released on April 16th and XII will be out on April 30th. Same dates for Switch.

Anyone have any clue as to why Amazon Prime Video stopped working on my Xbox One X? Works on every other device in the house. It will open and show me the app, but any video I select just turns into a gray screen.

I'd try dong a full reboot by holding the power button on the console in until the console shuts down, wait a minute, and then restart. You can also go to settings and power and choose full shutdown.

Yup, I went through all of that trouble shooting and it was just down. But it is back up. So yay! Productive user of my time while furloughed.

Same deal, I uninstalled it, checked it on PC where it was working fine. Come on Amazon, us Distant Worlds explorers need something to keep us sane while we jump, jump, jump.

Apparently it was down on Xbox one yesterday. I was good to go today.

We Happy Few just added to GamePass. I seriously don't think there's a better deal in gaming.

Other than The Pirates Bay*

*Neither this post, this poster, or this site endorses software piracy in any form, this was just a joke.

Stellaris coming to X-Box February 25th.

What do you all use for a headset when voice chatting on Xbox One?

I have basically never done voice chat over Xbox, but with plans to get both Anthem and The Division 2 on XBO in the next couple of months, it may be time to shake off the yoke of social anxiety and give it a go. Does a standard set of Apple earbuds work well enough?

Can you play game audio through a headset plugged into the controller? I've got a HyperX Cloud II headset that I've used with my PC that I think is supposed to work with my Xbox as well, but if it only transmits chat audio over the headset and not game audio, I wouldn't want those big headphones covering up my ears.

I use these (Jayhawker does too):

https://www.lucidsound.com/ls35x-xbo...

Love them.

I wish I could find a new version of the old Plantronics over-the-ear headset I used with Xbox OG Edition and Xbox 360. It stopped working early in the Xbox One days and considering how old it was I wasn't too surprised. Been looking for something myself just in case I get into Anthem multiplayer, but almost everything I am finding are huge over the head cans similar to what Top_Shelf linked. I had a pair of Turtle Beach ones and I hated them and never used them. That was like $150 down the drain.

I have a set of Cloud IIs that work just fine with my Xbox for both game and chat audio. Now I use the Turtle Beach Stealth 600s, which I like so much I bought a pair for my wife. Love the wireless and they work really well in my setup, although some others have had issues with dropped connections. Keep in mind that these are Xbox (or Windows with wireless adapter) only, as they use the same tech that Xbox controllers use. This results in not needing any receivers at the console.

Yes it will transmit game audio as well.
