Hidden Gems of Netflix's Watch Instantly

My wife watched Dumplin' whilst I was at work. She loathed it and wished for her time back. Thank goodness I missed it!

My wife loved it! Of course she loves Dolly Parton in every thing she does...

My wife doesn't exist and has no opinion on the matter.

I found it delightful and cheery and cheesy.

Holy crap.

What a cast in Velvet Buzzsaw!

Since I remembered nothing from Travelers season one or two (that is not a slam on the series, just my sieve of a brain), I decided to binge them before watching the third. Finished S1 in a few days. So good. Making my way through S2 now. Enrico Colatoni, so evil.

Velvet Buzzsaw looks good!

I'm part of the way through S1 after continuing my habit of starting to watch shows way too late and so falling asleep and requiring several sessions to get through a single episode. I like that they're taking their time telling the story.

NSFW for language.

I'm on board.

So, Close, Io, Grace and Frankie: S5, and The Punisher:S2 are all coming out on the same Friday? They must be stress testing their servers that weekend.

I am perplexed, perplexed, that Grace and Frankie has persisted.

Velvet Buzzsaw -- quite a mid-trailer turn there!!

It's like if a bunch of great actor friends got together and decided that taking a random B horror script and filming it would be the most fun.

You guys aren’t the target audience.

Just watched my favorite episode of Travelers: 17 Minutes. SOOOO GOOOOD!

Love the wibbly wobbly timey wimey ones.

The Night Eats The World was a decent zombie movie, more about isolation than the zombies but a good watch

Ah man, I got all excited to watch this, but it isn't on US Netflix. Alas.

Looks like it's on Prime and Hoopla (from your library) in the US.

Oh, for sure. I like Jane Fonda and especially Lily Tomlin (and especially especially June Diane Raphael), and I love the premise and plot points. (I’ve watched two seasons at least.) But some of the performances feel so wooden that it would seem even the audience for whom it’s made would find it hard to get into.

I feel this way about Dark Matter and Z Nation and </scorpion> too, which fall closer to my wheelhouse. And I’m surprised in hindsight that Numb3rs lasted at all let alone as long as it did, despite being a (bad) math nerd.

Which is to say I shouldn't be surprised, I suppose.

There is a Trevor centric episode in the middle of season 3 that is so friggen outstanding!
Totally emmy worthy...

I won't even spoiler it because anyone who has seen season 3 knows which episode

Edit: Oh yeah, 17 minutes was a fantastic episode. It is one of my favorites for sure.

I really wanted to like this, but yea the acting was bad more than a few times.

Titans got it's international release last week on Netflix. I went in not knowing anything about the setting and was completely blown away. Great characters and music, shot really well.

Last three nights have gone way too long because of just one more episode ugh.

Is that the show with the "**ck Batman" line? That's actually good?

Travelers Season 3 mid-way spoiler

Spoiler:

I'm really happy they got rid of Carly's baby. That f*cker is crying (with good reason) in every single scene he's in. I dont know how they thought that was good tv for 2.5 seasons. When I started S3 I had no clue what was happening in the show anymore, so I rewatched most of the previous two seasons. I wore a new thumbprint into the skip forward button on my remote on basically all of the "Carly at home" scenes.

I'm a little disappointed they 'solved' Jeff too. He was kinda one-note but was an interesting antagonist especially leading up to when they overwrote him.

Too bad Titans is on the $8/mo DC service. I checked and their offerings are way too anemic for that price.

Oh and amen to polypusher. That was ANNOYING.
