NCAA Basketball 18-19 Catch-All

Roll Tide.

That just makes me hate UNC's loss to UK even more. I mean... really?

TN vs GA game, summed up in a clip.

(Pretty sure he was surprised the guy had fallen down. He looked like he was apologizing.)

Unf. Hate it when players end up missing huge chunks of their playable time due to injury.

That's gonna hurt Kansas in the long term. They were better with him on the floor, I think.

Louisville had a nice win vs Miami to start conference play. Came out flat, down 15 about 8-10 minutes in, and then closed it to 2 by half. Won going away in the 2nd.

Guess there's some rust when you only play 2 games in 20 days?

Miami is one of those ACC teams that sometimes plays way over their paper capabilities. Chris Lykes is only 5'7", but he's a freaking BLUR on the court. Plays tough on-ball D too. Good win for Louisville.

Oh wow. Azubuike out for the season for Kansas. Sorry Jayhawker.

Hard fought game at NCSU tonight, but the Heels pulled it out. Scary moment in the 2nd half when Cam Johnson went down, gripping his right knee. Thankfully, it appears to have been cramps only.

It's worth noting that UNC won, but likely only because NCSU seemed to be falling apart in the last 3-4 min. They played with real intensity for about 35 min of the game, and will likely present a serious challenge to all conference opponents.

Yeah that was a fun game.

Gah. That Louisville / Pitt game...

Freaking ACC man, any given evening.

Yeah tell me about it. Only hope is that they turn out better than they look so far. But Pitt lost to Niagara a few weeks ago so I doubt it. Just an awful night where Jordan Nwora finally didn't score double digits for Louisville and we paid for it.

Still Overtime, and had a ton of chances to win/tie the last 2 minutes. Disappointing.

#1 vs #2 women tonight. Louisville @ ND on ESPN right now.

How did this Louisville team lose to Pitt? The same Pitt team UNC blew out? ...

Like I said... Any given (day/evening) in the ACC.

I'm pretty sure UNC forgot to show up. They look flat, tired, and completely out of sorts. Louisville has scored at will.

Ugly.

It's been fun to watch.

We were ice cold from 3 the other night. Just one more would have beat Pitt.

But Pitt is down 3 @NCSU right now. League is just good.

I should add that I don't mean to take away from Louisville's performance. They came out strong and stayed in charge for the game. The better team won today.

Roy Williams worst home loss. Unbelievable.

Tough finish for FSU. Guess Duke stays on top

The last 10 minutes where the refs tried to figure out who had the ball and how much time was left was brutal. Letting Dickey V fill the space with his blather was interminable

I was mad we lost

But glad the pain was over

Ags edged Bama by one. At Bama, I think. We've had a lousy start and I think that just puts us at .500.

TN beat FL in a much closer game than the final double digit score. The officials were horrible. Both ways, but mostly toward TN.

On to Arkansas.

Ok, I don't understand this week's AP poll. UNC only fell one spot? Did they not see the 21 pt THRASHING the TarHeels took on Saturday? At home? I mean, I know it's one game out of a season... but it was a really poor performance.

And FSU drops 2 spots despite taking the #1 team in the country down to the wire? Duke was a favorite in that matchup, I'd think. Case in point, they dropped more than UNC did for a loss by 2 pts to a higher ranked team.

Louisville knocking on the door finally. Only 4 votes out of 25th.

UNC did drop more in the coaches poll. That number must have shocked some of them at least.

UNC's consistency is nowhere to be seen. I mean, compare the team from the Louisville loss to the Gonzaga win? The Michigan loss to the NCSU win.

Just can't play with intensity in every game, and it shows.

Don't forget the UK loss with lots of unforced turnovers.

Oh, no. I definitely can't forget that. Though the turnovers weren't unique to that game, sadly. UNC would potentially be a much different team had Tony Bradley stayed for a couple of years. The more traditional post player down low makes Roy Williams more comfortable.

I'll also say this... I totally see why Nassir Little doesn't start. I know the mock drafts go more on potential upside than what's on display in college season... but frankly, right now he looks like he needs another year. Maybe the remainder of the season will change my mind, but I don't think he looks like a first round pick, much less a top 10.

I mean, the guy plays with flashes of brilliance. He's got athleticism in spades. But he's also not quite adjusted to the fact that the college game isn't the high school game. He can't dominate on the floor just because of any inherent talent (contrast with Zion Williamson, RJ. Barrett, or any number of the other projected picks... or some of the juniors and seniors out there that have played for 3+ years).

Syracuse wins at #1 Duke in OT.

Pitt at home handles #11 FSU by double digits.

Came here to post those exact same things. Any. Given. Day.

Wake up 15 on NCSU at half. UVa destroying VT by 20.

Man this league.

Add Notre Dame up on UNC at half. Yaaaaaay.

Well Wake held on by 4.

ND-UNC tied in the 2nd.

Took a much more cohesive (and less turnover prone) 2nd half for UNC to come back and win, but I'll take it.

It's been a crazy week of upsets so far. UVA looks like a significantly dominant team (again). The Saturday match-up with Duke should be a game to watch. Without Tre Jones, Duke will have to rethink a lot of their court methodology.
