DC Catch-All [Spoiler Zone]

Well considering all it takes is a pair of glasses to hide most heroes secret identities I think he is doing ok.

The second episode of Titans was pretty good. I'm not a big fan of Hawk and Dove but they did them pretty well. This was the lovers version of Hawk and Dove.

Prepare for the collision of DC and Prequel Memes, because Ewan McGregor is in talks to play Black Mask in the Birds of Prey film. But will he have the high ground?

The Titans did a really good version of the Doom Patrol which is shocking considering how cheesy they are. The one big problem is they obviously don't have the budget for beast boy. They keep doing his transformations off camera.

They do love their cross over events.

Elseworlds.

Yessssss

And they should!

Speculation I saw that probably won't come to pass, but got me really excited regardless:

Spoiler:

Jeremy Davies' (sh*t YES!!) character is rumored to be Dr Destiny, a character who owes his continued relevance to an appearance in Gaiman's Sandman, where he'd stolen a powerful artifact from Dream. There's much hay made over a large book in this trailer, and it just so happens that a large book is associated with Dream's older brother, Destiny.

ARE THE ENDLESS COMING TO THE ARROWVERSE!?

Probably not, but even a hint that way is likely to make me explode.

With Swamp Thing and Constantine in Legends it's entirely reasonable to have Sandman characters.

I notice Eververse is 3 nights and no sign of the Legends though.

Is Aquaman Moist or Soggy? The First Reactions Are in!

Aquaman is a big, fun, wild ride. It’s unabashedly melodramatic and over the top with the largest, most ambitious sense of scale imaginable. Parts of it are kind of bad but they are not the majority and, oddly, still fit in with the cartoony tone. 2nd best DCU movie. YEEEAAHH!
#Aquaman is great. James Wan made a really unique super hero origin film, often crossing into fantasy-epic territory, but grounded in family and discovery.

The world is visually incredible. Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry is a total bad-ass. @yahya and @patrickwilson73 stand out!

#Aquaman was an absolute blast, from the charm of Momoa's Arthur Curry, to the spectacular visuals to the fun that it was clear that everyone was having. It was exactly what I was hoping for and I can't wait to see it again! I'll give you more details when I'm allowed!
Excited I can now say how much I enjoyed #Aquaman! It's a cool adventure built on some tremendous action sequences and set pieces, with a great hero arc/performance from Jason Momoa as the glue. There's fun world building, and it looks wonderful. A great step for the DCEU.

I bounced hard off Legends when it first debuted, and subsequently avoided it unless I was burning through crossover events. Once I heard they brought Constantine in, though (and it's the same actor as the ill-fated series which I unabashedly loved, warts and all), I've been burning through Legends to get to his intro.

Also apparently they decided to leave Legends out of this year's crossover, though I haven't read why at all. Which I kind of appreciate, actually, as it allows the event to focus more on specific characters and write a cohesive story, rather than shoehorn so many other characters and subplots in.

Interestingly, Jeremy Davies appeared in Constantine, though it doesn't look like Legends are included in this cross-over.

Speaking of Constantine, check out City of Demons on CW Seed. It is an animated Constantine story. It is really good and Constantine is voiced by Matt Ryan.

Did all these people say similar things about other non - WW DC movies I wonder?

My only potential issue with Aquaman is I saw the trailer, so I suspect I've seen the whole movie.

I'd forgotten that. 50/50 though that Berlanti and crew haven't and will have him play the same character, or a version of him. It's very much in keeping with their MO.

The DVD version is longer and more adult. I think it is more than a hour longer.

Not a high bar. Though I do have a soft spot for Snyder's Superman.

That's actually why. It's already an ensemble show, you want every character that's involved to have a meaningful place in the story, and they have a shorter season than the shows that are involved. It throws everything into chaos.

Legends is on fire. Crazy doll, superman jokes, good bi characters. The only problem with this episode is they should have stuck to one or two plots. Three plots has the show to crowded.

Supergirl and lead-in to Elseworlds

Spoiler:

Wow, President Not Sheridan's kind of a dick.

Spoiler:

John Wesley Shipp's back in his Flash costume! And with his Flash's theme song!

Saw Aquaman with the wife this morning.

Eeeehhh. The plot's pretty predictable as you'd expect. The art design is questionable, but you can see what that looks like in the trailer. But overall, liked it better than Suicide Squad, but less than Wonder Woman by a good margin.

Also better than Venom.

Jason Momoa does his thing well I thought.

I really liked Aquaman. The second best DC movie for me just behind Wonder Woman. Lots of of big scenes that need to be seen on the big screen. I didn't see it in 3D but some of scenes have that this was made for 3D look.

The tone was a all over the place but mainly in fun camp. Black Manta was misused, they should have copied the young justice version of him. Many things didn't make sense or maybe didn't ring true but comic books. The CGI ranges from cartoony to great.

I would see it again and just might before it is on dvd.

Glad you enjoyed the film.

I saw it today and thought it was terrible. I tried to like it as just a big dumb action movie but it was just dumb. So much of it was over the top cheesy, and the CGI was a lot more miss then hit, and there was so much of it.

But hey, one of the friends I went to see the movie with really enjoyed it. To each their own.

I'd probably rate it just about what the Rotten Tomatoes score is right now, which I think is a 64%. Enjoyable if you cut your brain off and don't sweat the CG design/execution too much.

There is after credit scene after today's episode of Titans. That was the last thing I thought we would see on this show.

Wow I really enjoyed Aquaman. Of course Wonder Woman is #1 this comes in at a close #2 as a very fun movie with some cool world building. I dislike all the other DC stuff A LOT. Aquaman really feels like a guy that WANTS to help people unlike the majority of the other big DC heroes. (In these DC movies I mean)

Part of me is saying "No, no, you need to front a little. Say something that will save a little face, like 'Ehhhhh, it's not the most original, but-'" But I'm not going to front. DELIGHTFUL. I was cackling with glee pretty much the entire time, from the opening sequence was definitely was satirizing Snyder's Extreme Vision to the musical sting the first time "Oceanmaster" was said to how cool Black Manta was to the interrupting explosions running gag. Wan rulez ok.

I saw Aquaman last week and my take away is it is DC's Black Panther. Pretty much the same story and same character archetypes.

Man the Titans series is really good. Completely unexpected!

Saw Aquaman tonight with my wife. It was a lot of fun. I may have enjoyed it more than even WW, since he takes himself less seriously. My only complaint is to ask if they really needed to pad Nicole Kidman's chest quite that much?

Watching Titans (on Netflix). I am only passingly familiar with the cartoon, but I am really liking this so far. really worth watching. Very much closer to the Netflix Daredevil style of TV shows than the cartoon.
