Things you should know by now, but only just discovered

The Netflix version of Voltron has eight seasons already.

And is finished, apparently.

Mindblowing...

These are the only loofahs/luffas I have ever seen or used:

But the internet says that while these are nylon or plastic, real ones are plants

that look like cucumbers:

The real loofahs are awesome for exfoliation, if that's your thing.

Bill O'Reilly's favorite loofah:

I prefere Scandinavian lefse to clean myself.

After you apply butter and sugar. Rinse. Repeat.

Ask your partner how she wants it done.

I'm trying to imagine using YouTube without knowing about the subscriptions screen. It must have been a living hell for you. I'm so glad you've found the right way.

Irish Wolfhounds are named because they were bred to hunt wolves, not because they look like a wolf/hound hybrid. Edit: I also learned a couple days ago that the actual color associated with St.Patrick is St.Patrick's blue, the green is only associated with him because of the 1798 Irish Rebellion.

As a general rule of thumb, hounding dogs are named for what they were meant to hunt (wolfhound, boarhound, etc) and herding dogs are named for what they were meant to herd (cattledog, sheepdog, etc.)

All of which is a really obtuse way to bring up that corgis were bred to herd cattle. They're working dogs, and if you've owned one, you'll know the drive is still there. Their short legs and wide bodies make them harder to knock over, and cattle kicking at them will likely kick over them instead of hitting them.

So Bloodhounds were bred to assist vampires then? Good to know.

Half vampires, and only black ones. They're a super racist breed.

We have two Portuguese Water Dogs, and a Xoloitzquintli (Dante from CoCo), so 1 breed of working dog and one kinda everything dog. Xolos did just about everything in the ancient american civilizations. They were considered sacred dogs, used for food, hunting and as companions. They are neurotic little doggos and I love mine. In the various theories about the underworld it was said that Xolos could navigate through the cave systems and help you avoid evil spirits, among other things. Interestingly enough, the teeth and hair genes for Xolos are connected, so if you have a coated Xolo it will always have a full set of teeth, which is actually the recessive gene, the dominant is naked which has anywhere from a full set to no teeth, they also have strong jaws, but have great control over how much pressure they exert. Porties are working dogs usually employed as fishermen (fisherdoggos?) they would jump into the water and pull the nets on board, they are quite strong for their size. I am a large individual, 6ft and over 300 lbs, and our Portie could pull me up an icy hill if he were inclined. (hah). Back to the history though, when the Portuguese fleet modernized in the late 1800s to early 1900s, Porties nearly went extinct because of obsolescence, it was only because some dogs were brought across the Atlantic to the Americas that the breed survived. They eventually became popular again in Portugal but that took a long amount of time, several decades (not sure the exact number). I did some research regarding my doggos, sorry for the wall of text.

Chow Chows may or may not have been named as such because they were considered edible.

Sausage dogs go to show that our cultural aversion to eating dogs is recent.

The rock back and forth walk of a small chameleon is part of it’s camouflage. The movement mimics the motion of leaves rocking in the wind.

Today I discovered that one of the actors in Love Actually went on to play Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead.

That staple removers are meant to first straighten the legs on the reverse of a document and then remove the staple from the front facing side.

That's just what Big Staple wants you to think, man.

As someone who manages a copy center (in addition to my main IT/AV duties) these are the best staple removers ever:

Yes. I had a temp job that was essentially removing Staples all day, and those are the best.

Just told my wife this in amazement, and she's like, of course! So I'm +1 on the staple removers.

Try telling Siri, Google Assistant, or Alexa "freeze all motor functions."

Hah.

That's... not unnerving at all.

Good one Ken.
