NCAA College Football 2018-19: Official Thread

Week 14! aka Championship Week. This should be fun:

Pac 10: Utah-Washington (8 p.m. Fri)

Big 12: Texas-Oklahoma (noon Sat; App State in the Sun Belt is on at the same time)

American: A shell of UCF-Memphis (3:30 Sat)

SEC: Bama-Georgia (4 p.m. Sat)

Mtn West: Legion State-Boise State (7:45 p.m. Sat)

Big Ten: TOSU-Northwestern (8 p.m. Sat)

ACC: Clemson-Pitt (8 p.m. Sat)

In watchability order, I'd say SEC, Big 12 and then pick 'em. Most of these games seem somewhere between blowout and who cares? Stanfurd-Cal (3 p.m.) might be OK.

P.S. Get your fill this week. Next week your options are Army-Navy or going to the mall.

Was wondering if you'd notice. I might tune in if Clemson romps early.

Update: Here's a GIF review of the final week of the ACC regular season. A sample:

10. Duke
L vs Wake Forest, 59-7
What in all the hells was that?

New playoff rankings are out. Same top three, Georgia now 4th. I assume if they beat Bama, this top four are the field.

If I knew that were true, I'd almost not be mad if they won the SECC just so we could see the wailing and gnashing of teeth when the NC is a rematch of last year.

Tua could probably use a rest this weekend. Just sayin'.

I'm expecting the Dawgs to lose but should we win we will definitely lose in a rematch for the NC; such is the misery and pain that is being a Georgia fan.

That was nuts

The announcers already started the talk of two SEC teams again

GA did play a heck of a game. Can't wait to see the gnashing of teeth for the next day.

Sorry, ferret. I was with you 'til the end, not even switching sides to the more compelling narrative.

My personal silver lining is that A&M can still be the first team led by a former Saban assistant to beat him.

Snowing onto the blue turf in Boise.

Switch the channel to ESPN for the GAME OF THE WEEK*

Spoiler:

*: Game of the Decade if Fresno finally wins on that f*cking blue carpet

Hey, I switch channels for snow games!

The reddit thread on the Alabama game has a Georgia fan that said "Hey guys what if we lead at the half, and they put in Jalen after halftime and we lose..."

Georgia sports seem to exist to ruin the lives of the people who follow them.

“The blue turf thing again?” Tedford asked with a smirk.

“... the field wasn’t even blue tonight, it was white..."

BUILD THE GODDAMN STATUE NOW

There have been 290 total plays run in Alabama & Georgia’s last 2 matchups.@AlabamaFTBL led for 9 of them (3%) and won both games.

Why do I do this to myself every year?

Shake it off, soldier, we've got a bowl to win! Go Dogs!

Speaking of Bowls, Ags vs NC State in the Gator.

Let's go Wolfp... Can't do it. I despise that team.

But hey, FSU won the women's National Championship in soccer today, so there's that.

I am jealous. We had a crappy postseason.

I already have, and I wasn't even too upset yesterday. Kirby made a dumb call with the fake punt, but with the way we are recruiting, the distance we've built between the rest of the East, we'll get more chances.

One more little factoidoid though, when the Dawgs first blew a two score lead against Bama seven years ago, I didn't have any gray hair.

Over another ACC team. Conference really is awesome in soccer.

I sometimes think it's tougher to win the ACC tournament in soccer and probably baseball than to win the whole NCAA

Yep, 10 ACC teams made the tourney. Nuts.

FSU had to beat the last three national champs (Southern Cal, Penn State and Stanford) to get to the final, where they beat 21 time champ North Carolina. Not too shabby for the team seeded 7 in the ACC tourney.

Eh, We were a bit under seeded at the ACC tourney. We were in the top ten most of the season. But who am I kidding. Go Noles! National Champs!

Woooooo

It's the Ryan Finley Bowl!

Seriously, in the pre-game media blitz, you'll hear a lot about him, a little about State and maybe something about A&M.
