Battlefield V - Catch All

Thank you, Dakhath!

If anyone needs an access code for a free trial week, hit me up. I have 4.

I'd like to see if this runs better than the beta did, if you still have a code left!

I also have origin access codes if anyone wants one.

Thanks Dakhath!

Edit: anyone else unable to register/sign in to Origin?

A couple of observations:
- People are dicks. I can't tell you how many have just run by me or even over me when I need a revive.
- I'm enjoying the War Stories. I did the French one and I'm halfway through the British episode.
- I'm not sure why I have multiples of some of the items. I have more than one hatchet for instance.
- The game is good and I think this may be the best net code that Vice has ever had. The Battlefield series has always been poorly optimized (or whatever), but this seems to run very well. The only issues I've had is on the single player where the audio gets out of sync in some of the cut scenes.

The game seems really fantastic, but I am equally terrible at it. I'm invariably the worst person on the team and that makes me feel bad for a lot of reasons. And I'm not sure how much of it I can really help by "Getting good." I don't know if I have the reaction time or the ability to parse enemies out from the terrain well enough to be able to do much better. I think I need glasses, but I hate wearing them, hehe.

This may be the best bf I've played since bc2, but my 970 is definitely showing its age. Or maybe it's my 4690k, which falls below the minimum system specs.

I'm willing to bet it is the 4690k more than the 970. I'm running BF5 on all high settings with very good FPS on a 1050 Ti.

BF games have historically needed more CPU than GPU power.

As a medic I really wish they would lengthen the respawn timer, I really hate when people don't wait for the rez.

Thank god they didn't! One of the requests from beta was to shorten it. Statistically the odds of you getting res'd is very slim which forced you out of battle much longer than was comfortable.

For folks with bad aim, I highly recommend spotting for your team as a recon. It is super helpful and gets you a bunch of points. Your team will love you for it.

And you get some nice points as recon as well! Really loving the game a lot. Totally different way to play from BF1 or other BF games so that does take getting used to. New huge vehicle map, new single player Last Tiger and vehicle customization coming Dec 4 and the Tides of War coming on Dec 6 which should include more cosmetic customization and weapons.

Enjoying the heck out of it. The MG42 is a beast.

I’ve mostly played the support class so far. Had a ton of fun just building fortifications and defending areas.

I bumped my overclock from 4 to 4.2, which seemed to help a bit.

It's still frustrating how few people will defend a flag after they capture it.

I agree. I find fortifying a newly captured point and defending it from your opponents to be a ton of fun.

Yeah, building up fortifications as engineer and spotting as sniper are great ways to enjoy this game without rushing around shooting the entire time.

People are still playing like it's BF1. It'll change around soon enough.

In BF1, it was more profitable (point wise) to do the merry-go-round of going point to point.

Exactly, with the additions of Fortifications now, it will just take time for the mindset to change. I had people complain to me when I was squad leader if I chose to defend a spot. BF1 was a merry go round.

Am I supposed to be able to resupply teammates as a medic? I don't know if thats a bug or working as intended.

As intended. A bit weird, but it works.

I love when people build fortifications. It just means there's someone in there to eat my cooked grenade.

My 10 hours are up on the free access. Do you get access to Battlefield V with Access?

I think Premiere only unless you outright buy it obviously.

It does with the Origin Access Premier account on PC.

Downloaded on the PS4 last night. Will hop to check it out tonight.

Doesn't look very popular yet.

I went ahead and got it. Add me on Origins (Naterstein) and I will try to squad up when I can.

Its busy today, busy enough that the off map snipers have found their new perches, the spawn beacon bridge top campers are merrily raining grenades from atop the spans on Twisted Steel … the usual sign that the great unwashed masses have appeared
