The GWJ Adventure Game Club - Main Thread

Red Strings Club duly purchased.

Good to hear that about Broken Age.

Twitch Prime is picking up the slack on my PS+ cancellation... Broken Age is another adventure game lost that I now have via Prime I think.

I'll second Higs suggestion if noms to add to pool are ongoing.

I'd like to nominate Little Briar Rose, simply because it's gorgeous, I love the art.

Gone Home got a hard-earned seconding, unless SpacePPoliceman took it back when I wasn't looking.

Night in the Woods was another I wasn't sure would get accepted as an adventure game, so I'm glad it's on the list.

I'll second Gone Home.

Apologies, I must've missed that (getting late in my neck of the woods).

It it an idea for us to bold any game we are nominating, seconding, etc and adding a code in brackets? For example:
Gone Home (N)
Gone Home (2nd)

then they’d be easily scannable.

The itch.io Halloween Bundle has reminded me about Darkside Detective.

Has had me intrigued since release (scraping into consideration... July 2017 ) so will nominate please.

Tempted to pick up this itch.io bundle anyhow.

I’ll second A New Beginning.

Are we getting ahead of ourselves though? We haven’t even started the first game.

Eleima will correct me if I'm wrong am sure, but I think noms are an ongoing thing. Adding to the pool of picks that Eleima plucks 10 games to poll each month... possibly?

That bundle looks like a much better fit for my Halloween mood this year than what I've been trying to convince myself to dig in to. I'll second Darkside Detective as there's very little chance I resist grabbing it.

Oh Bubblefuzz Seconded Broken Age.

If we're still doing nominations, then, I will nominate Full Throttle, as the remaster is in the PWYW tier of the Humble Bundle right now and I want to give that game another go after abandoning it I guess few decades ago when I got stumped.

I am seconding Full Throttle! Woohoo!

Good News: Night in the Woods is on sale on Switch so I've finally bought it!

Bad News: Now I need to engage will-power, and not play it in case it gets picked here soon...

All joking aside...we're doing Oxenfree for Nov and Dec, right? So the earliest Night in the Woods could possibly be picked is Jan '19? Cause that's a bit of a gap before a potential second play-through.

There is what looks like an adventure game called ‘Pinstripe’ in the steam sale. Anyone played it?

it's more of a platformer than an adventure game, really. A good one though, but probably not enough of an adventure game for the thread.

Good catch. I actually fudged up when I updated my list and listed Anchorhead twice, with the second linking to Broken Age. Whoops.

Actually, I'm thinking of cutting you off, because you're nominating a truckload of games. Hold your horses and slow down, cowboy!

Nope. The extra month is there for wiggle room, for the stragglers who might've gotten caught up in life stuff. The next game will start off in December.

The Darkside Detective is a great game I finished not too long ago, and it's definitely going on my GOTY list. I'm not thirding it though. We have too many games already. Need I remind you all that there are 31 games on the list of candidates, already. As it is, we got enough to keep up going for two years and more!

I’ll third Broken Age. Always wanted to check this one out.

(Quoting myself since I didn't see Full Throttle on the Seconded list)

Also seconding Little Briar Rose.

This is why I keep you folks around, to keep me in check. Seriously, thanks.

I'm thinking I might close nominations if when we hit 40. Should keep it a bit more reasonable. Forty is plenty of gaming as it is. Opinions?

Climbs down off horse and walks away from the stable... I'm doing quite well at not buying the games recently, so was hankerin' for a nice distraction from the curation itch

A 40 game lock sounds reasonable.

I'm thirding Full Throttle. 40 is probably fine...provided Full Throttle is one of them.

40 is more than enough, with Eleima's discretion to add a “holy cow I forgot that one” extra.

I fourth 40.

Scrolled back through. 'What Remains of Edith Finch' made it in. Whoo!

I want to play that one.

The Ken Follett game is now free on Twitch Prime, FYI.

Agreed on capping the nominations.

Just watched a trailer for Ken Follett’s pillars of the earth. Gorgeous animation. I’m much more interested now.

I'd play that again for sure. So atmospheric.

I fifth 40 btw.

Really, honestly I do!

Has it been mentioned that Pillars is free with Twitch Prime?
