NFL 2018: Week 7

That's a good move for pretty much everyone involved.

Hyde fits best in a power blocking-heavy scheme, and that's exactly what the Jags are about. The 49ers are the exact opposite of that, which is why he was allowed to leave in free agency, and the Browns are a bit of a hybrid. This is a chance to get back into the kind of power run system that he was originally drafted by Harbaugh to be a part of.

There's nobody that the Jags were going to realistically get their hands on who would step into that power run scheme better than Hyde. As far as emergency mid-season acquisitions go, that's the best they could have possibly hoped for.

The Browns need to start giving Nick Chubb more reps, and moving Hyde clears the way and likely gets them some draft capital in return.

They get a 5th round pick in the story I saw.

That's great for my Dynasty team!

It's also good for the Jags so they can stop relying on Bork so much, obv.

That's cheap considering Hyde is in year 1 of a 3 year contract. If he performs well enough for the Jags to keep him, they'll be getting a pretty good deal, especially since the prorated signing bonus stays on Cleveland's cap (though some of the guarantees are in future roster bonuses that Hyde will have to perform well enough for the Jags to justify paying out).

Just enjoying Draw Play Dave's recap of the Bills' last few months:

– Finally made a playoff game after 17 years, scored 3 points.
– Jettison the not great but stable QB who got them there
– Traded for AJ McCarron to be the starter.
– Traded AJ McCarron away after he got banged up in preseason. They could probably use him right now.
– Openly cheer Andy Dalton more than their own team
– Employ Nathan Peterman, quite possibly the worst QB to suit up and start a football game.
– Continue to employ Nathan Peterman, even while he is throwing an INT on average 11% of his dropbacks.
– Seriously, they employ Nathan Peterman
– Drafted Josh Allen, widley considered the biggest probable bust of all the QBs, a raw rookie who needs to be taught a lot
– Have best lineman retire due to age and wear/tear after finally seeing a playoff game. The same playoff game where they scored 3 points.
– Have second best lineman, a literal crazy person, retire, then demand to come back so he can be traded and continue to have a breakdown
– Stick raw rookie behind now completely depleted offensive line
– Star running back is accused of sending goons to beat up ex
– Trade Sammy Watkins for fatter, slower, worse Sammy Watkins, who then proceeds to trash Cam Newton as a bad QB while dropping passes from Nathan Peterman and Josh Allen
– Somehow annihilate the Vikings
– Pick up Derek Anderson as backup, must now play him after being on the team 10 days
– Raw rookie QB hurts his throwing elbow and if mismanaged could ruin his entire arm (which is his one strength), stay tuned on that one
– Actually have a good defense?

Did I miss anything? I feel like I still missed things.

(...)

EDIT: How the hell did I forget Vontae Davis retiring at halftime my god this team

Speaking of Benjamin, one little story we missed this past week was Benjamin blowing off Josh Allen when Allen wanted to work on routes pre-game

They traded LT Cordy Glen in March. They could probably use him atm.

Supposedly the Jets are gonna cut Terrell Pryor. He's injured atm, but should be back on the field in a couple weeks. So this is kinda a strange move.

Titans and chargers actually in a competitive game in London.

7 points late 4th.

Bork, bork, bork!

Are there a lot of off-sides and encroachments not being called to anyone else? I saw Eagles get away with it not for the first time this season. I've seen other teams get away with it as well. I guess it's easier to spot on TV thanks to computer assistance, but I didn't notice it so often last year.

I mean, not that I want a penalty on the Eagles but...

Speaking of the game, man emotions are getting heated. First Ertz on Reid (at least understandable given the tackle on Wentz) but Mills running his mouth again (groan) and now people keep yelling at each other. Ain't even half time or raining or hot as all get out or nothing.

Almost the same team as last year, but not able to get out and hold leads. Nuts.

Not sure what you're seeing though I'm not watching the game atm. The line on TV isn't always exact.

Bork gonna bork.

Edit: Bork gonna bench.

Whelp, for three quarters the Eagles played like they won a Super Bowl.

God damn it do not get me started.

PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANTHERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

... deep breath ....

... RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ...

... passes out

Man oh man.

Yeah, I can't say nothing negative about the Panthers after that. The Defense figured out how to read Eagles offense in an almost supernatural fashion, and the Eagles defense was just unable to stop Cam and the rest of the offensive from making an incredible push. I imagine the disappointment I'm feeling is directly proportional to the elation you're feeling after what looked like it was going to be a very, very disappointing loss.

Sports, man.

Did the Bucs get Aguayo back?

Oh lordy, Chicago.

I think this alone would've sufficed:

Why not? It's the main cause of their issues, outside of OL injuries...which are why this is happening at all.

This season is starting to feel like the entire Eagles coaching staff caught lightning in a bottle last season and really actually just suck.

Your team looked great for three quarters and all of a sudden just didn't. I know it's baffling.

Yep.

Didn't they have the healthiest defense or something last year? Sometimes that's all it takes.

Losing on the only ever missed Tucker extra point feels like the worst kind of kick in the crotch.

Actually, question though I suppose it applies to next week. My family doesn't subscribe to NFL Network. So I'm assuming there's no way for us to see next week's London game, right?

I believe if you are in the Philly or Jacksonville area the game will still be on either CBS or Foxin addition to the NFL network.

In the past, for Chiefs games, the game was sold to any station in the KC area that wanted the OTA rights, not necessarily one of the NFL regular networks any time the game was cable only. Hopefully that is still a thing.

Cincy in prime time delivers again. Time to turn this off.
