NFL 2018: Week 6

If the Boys are Mac, who is Khabib?

There's no way I won't be annoyed at the calls the Patriots get tonight.

Edit

Yes obvious PI in end zone that’s not called leads to KC’s 3rd FG of the night instead of first and goal at the 1

Yeah, that caught my eye too.

I thought Jacksonville had a good defense?

Edit

I just watched Jacksonville rush two people and Dak still found a wide open receiver for a TD

I think that game combined with Baltimore handing Tennessee their first goose egg in their home stadium ever will probably be enough to knock them out of first place for defense.

There has not been a single punt in this game.

1 fumble lost, 2 INTs, one turnover on downs, and 13 scoring drives.

Football in 2018. :/

14 scoring drives.

A punt happened!

Jesus, KC is scary

Thought OT was inevitable after that TD. Damn

Yeah, not a comfortable win at home . League is going to have to figure out a way to stop KC. Freaken juggernaut.

Yep. We’ll see how the Pats do when they visit Arrowhead in January.

Honestly, I told my wife that Hill should have taken a knee at the one. I assumed that the Chiefs lost when Tyreek scored with three minutes left, and NE had all three time outs.

Belichek did a number on Mahomes in the first half, and he comes back with 4 TD passes in the 2nd half. The INTs are starting to come, though. But he is playing through them well, and having solid games even when things go poorly.

On to Cincinnati...

Have we seen a worse QB than Nathan Peterman in recent memory?

Is that photoshopped or is that for real?

And honestly, who does Peterman have photos of to still be on an NFL roster?

And on a feel good note, is it legit yet to start talking about Adam Thielen as the best WR in the league? That dude is unstoppable.

To be fair, I wonder if that is the first time he had ever thrown a football. He is Irish after all.

He's very good, Whispa. In fact, these first 6 games he's been the epitome of the modern running back; a threat as both a runner and as a receiver (I'm seeing a spectacular Frank Gore). The problems for me are:

One - He is not what the Giants needed from the 2018 draft. They needed a future QB.

Two - Because of 1 above, I doubt that Barkley's best year's will coincide with the Giants being a genuine contender. Adrian Peterson has appeared in 5 playoff games. Frank Gore has only played in 3.

Three - His impressive number of medium-range receptions can also be read of Eli's diminishing long-range abilities. He's getting passes that - in years past - would have been thrown deep to Burress, Cruz or Beckham.

Receiving Rec Yds Avg TDs
Odell Beckham 45 506 11.2 1
Saquon Barkley 40 373 9.3 2
Sterling Shepard 31 341 11 2
Cody Latimer 6 108 18 0

I'm a big fan of Shepherd's, and it worries me that he's not number 2 in terms of receptions at this point in the year.

Eventually, teams will put a lid on the 'throw-it-short-to-Barkley-and-rely-on-his-yards-after-the-catch'.

Well the good news is that that decision will make sure they have a high draft spot in 2019 too!

Yeah, maybe they were tanking without anyone realizing it! Like the Jags! Except everyone realized that.

Indeed, EvilDead.

My deepest, darkest fear is that they're swapping roles with the Cleveland Browns. On current form, I can only see them beating Atlanta and - maybe - Tampa Bay... a 3-13 season.

I don't like seeing Carolina lose to New Orleans or Atlanta (or Tampa but that never happens these day).

I really hate seeing them lose to Washington.

Frank Gore ran for over 100 yards and reached another career milestone.

Alex Smith threw a TD pass to Vernon Davis.

The 2012 49ers had a pretty good week 6.

I was at the Houston / Buffalo game and watched Peterman warming up during pre-game. My dad (who hates all sports and spent the day making fun of the players, but was there because business), commented that he had "never seen anyone warming up like that before for any reason." At the end of the game he noted "all that fancy stretching and high stepping didn't do that boy much good." Probably unrelated, but it made me chuckle at the time.

I really thought he'd be getting maybe 5 touches a game and mostly be used as a pass protector. Wish I had kept him one more season in Dynasty.

I thought changing teams would finally get him reduced to extremely light/backup duty too. But just like with Indy, he's too god damn sturdy and reliable to keep off the field.

Assuming that holds throughout the year, he will likely pass Herschel Walker and Barry Sanders, and possibly LaDainian Tomlinson, on the all time all-purpose yardage list.

It'll be interesting to see if he comes back in 2019. He won't pass Barry for 3rd in the all-time rushing yardage list this year, but if he plays another year, he could then.

DC Mike Smith was fired from the Bucs.

Garbage is doing MNF's halftime? Maybe this whole thing ESPN's been doing is better than I thought.

Man, I'd be pissed if Garbage was doing halftime at a 49ers home game and it wasn't one of the weeks I picked to go to.

But this is in Lambeau, so no regrets.

We getting over a combined 100 points tonight?

New NFL.

Where 3rd string qbs torch the Packers even tho it's a new D coach and they drafted D. They will gel by week 16 hopefully. :/
