New TV Season 2018-19

Z Nation is back and still going crazy. New season new zombies and new hair.

Black Lightning

...and Luke Cage have better music than every other superhero show on television. Fight me!

Legion has some pretty good music.

I always that it was odd for survivor to have these themed tribes and then swap or merge them really early.

I just assume that there are stages of the game. It may start out tribe versus tribe, but, especially with these kind of theme seasons, the next stage is intergrating to see how members of different tribes work together.

The first part just establishes the tribe identity so that when they merge there is still a narrative about how they fit together.

I’m just glad they are merging sooner because the Goliaths, even losing this week, have a huge advantage in the game.

SEAL Team - Still enjoying it though if they ever kill off Cerberus (aka Dita the Hair Missile), I'm out.

Big Mouth season 2 was really excellent. I'd highly recommend recommend the series, I'm not really one who is a huge raunchy cartoon fan but this was funny and has alot of heart.

Not sure if this is a Canadian only show either but Mr. D was pretty funny as well this season. Anyone else watch this show? It's usually pretty consistent I find the jokes usually land for me.

"Tahani? Is that you?"

"Larry Hemsworth!?"

Edit: I'm not exactly proud to admit this, but a "'I'm Sorry I Keyed Your Car, But You Wouldn't Shut Up During John Wick' Kind of Girl" is not to far from my exact kind of girl.

I don't know where else to go with this. Holy hell, Riverdale. We watched the first two seasons on Netflix over the last month, and just watched the season 3 premiere last night. As bonkers as that show has been in a fantastic way, the stuff they did with this first episode makes it seem like they're going WAY off into crazy land. And that's spectacular.

Seriously, if vampires and space aliens showed up at some point, I wouldn't be shocked.

I cackled throughout the premiere, but the bit that best sums up the joys of the show for me is Reggie, having just been advised on his new role as QB of the High School football team, solemnly proclaiming: "That bloody chapter is over."

Also, Cheryl should be at the center of a crossover with Arrow

Cheryl with the bow is definitely shades of later season Arrow.

Spoiler:

God damn, that ending. I mean, I'm fully expecting that the baby floating cult thing will turn out to be a dream or something, but omg WHAT IF IT WASN'T. The fact that I could totally believe that they'd introduce the occult and magic and turn this whole thing into a Buffy/Scooby Doo thing is why I love this show. They give zero f**ks and it's amazing.

Titans
S01E01 - Breaking it all down scene by scene

Spoiler:

The show starts off with Raven. She seems to be hurting her mother by accident with her powers which come off as demonic and not well defined. Some dude comes by the house and kills her mother in front of her. However, the guy forces the mom to tell her she isn't her real mom before he kills her. Raven then lets loose her powers in a fit of rage killing the guy. She then runs off to Detroit.

We See Robin and he is a cop with a bad attitude. He just got a sexy new partner so why he so mad? Anyway at night he is the Robin Man. We see him take down a bunch dudes punisher style minus the killing. He break bones, rubs a guys face in glass, bashes a guy’s head in, and generally beats the living hell out of these guys. Seriously, I think they took their inspiration from this scene from The Punisher netflix show.

We go back to Raven. She takes a bus to Detroit, I thought it would be gotham. Once in Detroit she goes to homeless shelter. Here a lady tries to help her by taking her to shelter for kids. On the way to shelter reflections of Raven keep telling her its a trap. Raven listen to the reflections and makes a run for it. She gets a cop to stop for her by throwing a rock at her car. The cop doesn't shoot her noticing she is not a unarmed black guy. Instead the cop takes her in and brings her to Robin the wonderful boy cop. Raven is surprising calm considering she watched the person she thought was her mom die a few hours ago.

When then go to Starfire or girl that the racists are made because she black. Listen people, Starfire is orange in the comics. She is from a different planet. Take the racism down a little for a day. If you want to mad about not covering her sexy body in orange body paint then fine but don’t bring that she can’t be play by black actress in here. That’s just dumb.

Ok yeah, where was I. Starfire, ok we see her in a car that has crashed. We don’t know why it has crashed. She gets out of the wreckage and car comes by with the people inside shooting at her. She gets away by hiding behind a tree.

The next scene is of her in a gas station going through her stuff. It seems like she doesn't remember who she is or she has taken over someone else’s body. Looks as her passport and says her name over and over like she never heard it before.

Then the scene changes with Starfire arriving at a high end hotel. The staff knows her an applies she has been screwing one of them and ask if she would like more of the same. She declines and opts for just coffee for now. This entire thing is weird because now she is actively trying to act like whoever she is suppose to be but we don’t know why.

Once Starfire gets to her room, which is the entire top floor of the hotel, she finds a dude tied up. They man tells her they found the girl and can get her. I’m guessing he is talking about Raven or maybe her sister. However, Starfire isn’t interested in some girl she wants to know what her name is, but the says he doesn't know who she really is.

The guy breaks a glass and uses it to free himself. He then attacks Starfire. Starfire breaks a few of his bones and then knocks him across the room with one super powered punch. She seems shocked that she has powers. She then gets him to reveal the name of some guy on her phone and his location. She then breaks his neck after promising to help him. Now I’m thinking this is probably Blackfire, Starfire’s sister. Or this is completely different version of Starfire. Hey Titan has killed someone so far.

We then go back to Robin and Raven. Raven is telling Robin how she remembers his life history including his parents dying in the circus. She grabs his hand and we see flashbacks of the flying graysons dying. We also see Bruce Wayne come to comfort Dick and bring him home with him. Interestingly Robin doesn't see any of the flashbacks only Raven.

Robin leaves to check out Raven’s story. While Robin is out a cop comes by to transfer Raven to a room with other kids. The cop is actually kidnapping her. Robin returns just in time to see her being taken away.

The scene changes to Starfire or Blackfire at a dance club. She finds the owner and his men. She tries to get them to tell her who she is but the owner isn’t having any of that. The owner is mad because he loved her and she betrayed him but he doesn’t say how. Instead the owner shoots at StarBlckFire. The bullet melts before hitting her and she unleashes the phoenix. The room is completely covered in fire burning the men to ash. StarBlackFire is like WTF did I just do, is that new xman movie about me? In the fire she finds a picture of a girl with a name on it. I guess that is the girl the guy told her she was looking for. On her way out she laughs at the carnage she caused. Why can’t we have nice friendly Starfire. I don’t know about this version. She is hot though. Oh and she did turn orange for a bit when releasing the fire. That was also hot, literally. Here is a funny aside. Every time I play a game where I can customize the character I play a black girl with red hair. No reason why. Maybe the next one I make I’ll call starfire or blackfire.

At this point I would call this show a hot mess but I’m digging it.

We change scenes to Raven waking up tied to a chair in some creepy room lit with candles. Is the room also lit with candles or did they do that just for her. The guy holding her seems kind of crazy. He is telling her she will destroy the world and that she is a doorway. I think he is the keymaster and will soon pulled down his pants to open the doorway. Then the Stay Puff Marshmallow man will be born and the world will be destroyed. That doesnt’ happen maybe it will in the next episode.

Oh wait crazy guy just wants to kill her so she can’t give birth to the marshmellow man. Ok, why didn’t he just killing her when she was knocked out? He brings out a big knife to show her instead of stabbing her with the knife. Why do villains always have to tell the victims their evil plans instead of just killing them.

Well just as you thought Robin gets here just in time to save the day. Batman would be so proud. But way Raven passes out and then wakes up as Evil Raven. She then copies Shang Tsung’s finisher move and forces herself into crazy guy’s mouth. She then kills from the inside out. Blood goes everywhere as the guy dies in pain. The announcer yells FLAWLESS VICTORY, FATALITY. Robin arrives on the scene just missing the mortal kombat event. He also knows his character sucked in the Injustice video game so he was happen he missed it.

The scene changes to Robin and Raven getting into a nice expensive ride. Robin says he is taking her someplace safe. He is probably going to make her into his underage sidekick. Her name will be Robin’s Robin.

New scene. Now we are at a video game store and guard finds a tiger messing up the game shelves. No this is really what happens. I’m guessing it is Beast Boy. Why he is screwing up a store I don’t know. Note there is A doom patrol movie in the works that has Best Boy in it. I’m guessing his character will be killed off before the movie comes out. They almost never let two versions of character exist at the same time.

Anyway the tiger runs off and changes into a boy. And the boy has a video game in his hand. I didn't see a video game in the tiger’s mouth. In fact the tiger roared before leaving so I’m sure it wasn't carrying anything. This show is so phony and fake. I’m done with this show. First black StarBlackFire and now this. F this show. I’m refuse to watch it for at least a week.

I think the show is a hot mess trying to hard to be the punisher with super powers. Still thought it was kind of fun to watch. I don't think it will last more than one season.

Watched the first episode of the season of Supergirl. The last few scenes had me all confused. No idea why some random alien was killed. No idea why Supergirl was punching a wall.

The episode was ok but a little heavy handed in message they were putting out. This show doesn't do subtle I guess. Also had some cast changes I don't like but they might grow on me and they might change.

At the least, it wasn't common knowledge that POTUS was herself an alien.

The latter is a drawback of this series doing a full 20+ episode run per season in that you might have missed Faux-Russian Supergirl last season. The former seems to me playing up the fact that Darth Maul stabbed Sabine Wren to death. Also, who else like me looks forward to Kara and Nia's arc for the rest of the season?

Oh I total forgot about bad supergirl.

Watched the new Charmed and liked it. The tone is kind of cute like the first season of the old Charmed.

Magnum P.I.

I kind of want an open world GTA-esque (LA Noire would probably be a better comparison) game set on Oahu.

The best part of tonight's Riverdale was every single f*cking thing that transpired or was revealed for the entire last half!

The Rookie first episode was pretty good. Only checked it out because captain Mel was in it. Then I find out Two is in it also. Lot of these cop shows are out but this is the only one I checked out so I'm not sure how it compares to the others but I like it.

I would watch the pants off a Moshe-Kasher-Hosted show titled "We are F'd."

If anyone watched and enjoyed the first season of American Horror Story, but has since moved on from the show for various reasons, it will be worth your time to check out the most recent episode, S8E6, Return to Murder House. It is like a love letter to season one, and probably one of my favorite AHS episodes ever.

You don't even need to know the story, and you don't need to keep watching. It's a one off episode, where you will pick up on the reason they are back out the house from the episode, and the this Murder House Story not only wraps up in this episode, it also goes back and gives season one some closure it was lacking. Like season one, it's another great ghost story, wrapped up in one episode.

This season has been fun, and the story is all over the place. Not that you can tell from this episode, but most of the season has a very appropriate campy goth vibe to it. But, seriously, this is an episode any fan of season one ought to watch, if for no other reason than Jessica Lange's performance, reintroducing us to her first role on AHS, Constance Langdon. She was just fantastic.

I've been taping the current season, but it'll probably be a bit before I get to it. My list of media is kinda long right now.

Charmed was a whole lot better than I was expecting. The characters are interesting and I'm interested to see more of the world. I'll definitely be checking out a few more episodes.

The Rookie(s)

All right, I'm in.

Watched the first episode of All American which is a high school football show. I'm not really a fan of these types of show that center around sports but I thought it was ok.

HOLY FREAKING sh*t THIS SHOW IS INSANE AND AMAZING.

Yeah, it might even need it's own thread!

Watched the first episode of American Horror Story latest season. I really liked the episode. I didn't read anything about it so I wasn't sure what it would be about. I was hoping for a giant xman villain with a giant "A" on his belt. Oh well.

The show kind of reminds me of anime I didn't care for.

I liked today's episode of Supergirl. I didn't think it was heavy handed bringing in transgendered issues. Supergirl tends to be to heavy handed in their moral issues but I think they got right this time.

I don't think James was played correctly. He should have been all in from the start with printing the pizza story. Who puts apples on a pizza, not that issue the other one but that is worth writing about also.
