Your coach doesn't seem to understand it either.

It's not necessarily limited to just the coach. Not quite sure a lot of the players know what the hell they are doing. Gonna be a long year, but I am not ready to jump of the Taggart Train yet... your coach left us in a pretty lousy situation, especially at OLine and Linebacker.

HAHAHA suck it Taggart.

Ya know, I always kinda liked Oregon. I thought the uni thing was cool, and how can you not like a team named the Ducks?

That said, between the general assholery of some of their fan base during and after the 2014 playoff game and the insane amount of butthurt from some of their fans with the Taggart situation, the bloom has come off of that rose. Granted, there are also FSU fans this year who are being stupid about Jimbo, but I have seen a HUGE amount of Duck fans being dicks about Taggart. You lost your coach after one year, I get it, I really do, but, well, get over it already? Besides, it looks like you are in more than capable hands now anyway.

:(

Wait, does that mean I wasn’t supposed to give money to the go fund me to buy out his contract?

I wonder if they do refunds

LOL

(weeps)

I should clarify, I have no ill will towards Florida State, now or really ever. I also don't fault a coach for leaving a program, happens all the time. However, I do have anger in how Taggart handled the whole situation, lying about what was going on, alledgedly using recruiting trips to interview for the job and to recruite for FSU while technically still being employed by Oregon, and yes leaving a school 1 year into signing a contract with them. To me that shows a lack of commitment.

Also, as far as 2014 playoffs, again, I have no issue with FSU, for me it's all about Winston. I don't like him and wish him to fail wherever he plays. So right now, I'm a huge Ryan Fitzpatrick fan. Actually I've always kind of liked Fitzpatrick, whats happening now just makes me like him even more.

Fair enough on both points. I have heard something about using the recruiting trip for interviewing, but haven't ever seen any actual sources on it. Also, coaches lie all the time. One of the reasons I have been souring on the sport as of late.

I'm just sitting here enjoying the irony of an FSU fan who is mad at Oregon for things they said when their coach got hired away.

Bye is coming at a great time for Cal. We managed to crack the Others Receiving Votes, and that usually spells DOOOOOOM for us, but with a Bye this week we are safe from total failure.

Scheduling gods have also favored us. Our next game is home against Oregon after the bye. Oregon on the other hand plays stanfurd and UW with us sandwiched in between. If the Ducks can beat furd in Eugene (they are -1 in vegas), Cal is the perfect trap game to catch them off their high of beating furd and prepping for UW the next week.

No one of course really knows how good Oregon is. They play a schedule that makes Alabama's OOC slate look like the SEC West. They beat a horrible San Jose State team by less than 20 and that was probably the best team they've played all season.

Anyways, looking forward to the ducks and furd beating the crap out of each other next weekend while Cal has an extra week to gameplan.

After the ducks, Cal has 3 winnable games @Arizona, home UCLA and @Oregon State. 6-1, at worst 5-2 is looking very possible.

The Ducks looked awful against San Jose State. That was probably the worst game of Herberts career. If they play anywhere remotely like that against Stanford next week they will get crushed. Part of the problem is they have no playmakers on offense. This is the first year in probably over a decade they don't have a top tier runningback and the receivers are average at best. We'll learn a lot next week on what kind of team this is but my gut tells me it won't be pretty.

I believe I covered that in my post, Captain Irony.

You did, but humbly, may I suggest you misworded it? You should have said "Given how incredibly obnoxious and entitled my fellow FSU fans have been to Texas A&M, I guess we can't say a damn thing to Oregon."

Texas A&M fans were pretty obnoxious before they got Jimbo so I guess they would definitely be able to recognize it when it happens.

It's not fair for you to extrapolate my delightful personality to the rest of my people.

Have fun on the drive for four wins!

BYE week for Cal, so.. I hope you all lose.

Even us?

Granted, it's a bye week for Fresno too, but still.

Beat the hell outta Bama!

That's my motto doesn't matter whose playing The Tide.

So say we all.

Week 4 highlights:

Texas A&M at Alabama, 3:30 pm (CBS) This game could be a lot of fun.

Stanford/Oregon (8 pm, ABC) is the only other game I'd consider watching. That, and Michigan's pummeling of Nebraska (the worst school in the worst state*).

Florida/Tennessee might have been good once upon a time, but it's 2018 and the world has moved on from both of these schools.

* technically not a state; merely the land left over after the other 47 continental states staked their claims.

Three other potentially decent games:

If you need a game for the early slot, Georgia is playing Mizzou; both are still undefeated.

Mississippi State plays Kentucky, who are surely feeling feisty after ending their decades-long losing streak against Florida.

And lastly, who doesn't want to see the Longhorns brought back down to earth by TCU? They are surely encouraged by their victory over USC; this weekend, reality sets back in.

Because the ACC is different, there is always the noon-thirty game.

The great Louisville-Virginia rivalry that no one wanted and everyone forced on us because Maryland left. Instead they could have rebalanced the divisions. Oh well.

As a Tennessee fan, this hurts my soul but is so true. This game use to decide the SEC East and carry National Title implications... now we're just scraping to see who gets a W to help be bowl eligible or stay out of last place.

I am 100% on board with this.

You said it.. its your bye week. Tedford understands all the nuances of the Cal fan football mind so scheduled your bye the same week as us to not get caught up in the Cal schadenfreude .

He also understands all the "nuances" of UCLA and the Chip Kelly offense and shut all that sh*t down, heyooooo!

In what may be one of the worst games of the week, FSU plays Northern Illinois. Somehow the Huskies have a worse offense that even FSU.

Bet the under.

OMG, one of the GameDay signs at Oregon today says "Big Duck Energy".

I quit football season. What a f*cking embarrassment.

Aggies lose to Bama, Horns beat TCU.
All is right with the world.

Hook Em.
