Wait, are people able to get into the beta without a pre-order?

On the PC they've had open beta starting 1 day after the pre order crowd. So yea anyone has been able to play. So the open beta for Blackout will be starting on the 15th.
Thanks. If I have time on Saturday I'm going to try to give that a go.
I really hope they change the looting system on the PC version. I know another studio is doing the PC version so I have high hopes.
Let me see if I understand this right, as I’ve never played a CoD before. All I see about 4 is the BR mode, but this game also has a team mode like Counterstrike or Rainbow Six, and a Co-Op game like Left 4 dead?
I suck at BR, but the chance to improve is the addiction. $60 is steep though, but if it’s functionally 3 games in one, two of which I’d me marginally interested in... a tough call.
Watch an hour of COD Blackout on Twitch, get in the beta a day early
I'm disappointed Doc is not on this list. Shroud it is then
Shroud,Summit, and Tim are all fine choices. As long as it's not Ninja.
My pocketbook would be so much more full if I quit reading these updates. Always get sucked into games that I don't even intend on buying. This looks like fun even though I am very bad at these types of games (maybe all types).
I am in. Prepurchased on the PC. Likely just for BR.
My PC was ancient when PUBG came out and it always looked too janky for my tastes anyway. Fortnite never interested me particularly the building garbage. But, this looks really good. The only reason I might not go for it is the price point. It seems like $60 is way too high for what will certainly only be the BR mode for me. I don't know how much time I'll be able to put into it this weekend but maybe I can play enough to sway me on the price.
EdgarNewt and I took first in our very first Duo. Was a lot of fun, but typical CoD mechanics. Bunny hopping and bullet sponges.

One of our earlier matches Kazar says 'hey Shroud is in our match'! 2 seconds later Escher 'I just killed Shroud'!
Just don't let him have molotov's..
@Esher77 Found the part of chocoTaco's stream where you were fighting them. Escher77 vs Shroud
I need to figure out the graphics settings a little bit better. The combination of the bob, the color density and the brightness, I think, triggered a migraine in me yesterday. Hopefully I can figure it out, because I had a lot of fun with the three games I played. Definitely not used to the speed of the game, but that actually interests me more than the speed of PUBG. Just need some reps to get better.

Downed, not killed but fun either way. 100% got greedy and wanted to finish and ran up to do so and got owned by flow.
I thought it would be good but not put a dent in my love of PUBG. I was wrong. There is something to be said for good net. Ode — or the perception/presentation of good net code. Not once did I feel like a bullet bent around a corner to get me; my losses felt like I was fairly beat.
I do wish for a few changes though:
1. Let me shoot out individual tires of vehicles or the rotor of the helicopter. Otherwise vehicles are just epic BS (see 2 below).
2. Decrease the bullet sponge (BS) nature of players.
3. Improve directional audio — still feels like their are too many false directional footfalls.
4. I wish it was a slightly bigger map. I want a few more places to target for drops. After one day, I feel like i have seen 95% of what the map has to offer.
5. (This is on me) I need to understand the guns better. What crazy ass names ATVI uses.
I am worried about what I am going to play between the end of the beta and launch. PUBG seems so broken to me now.
The following is not directed at BO4 directly, it is just my most recent example:
Dear Developers, I have played FPS's since the dawn of the genre. I enjoy straight shooters as well as tactical shooters. If your game has even a slight tactical bent, please, for the love of dog, figure out a way to penalize/remove bunny-hopping. Watching a HB50 wielding player, bunny-hop his way to victory is infuriating. Add a pause when landing, lower accuracy after a jump, make the hit box larger when jumping, something, anything to stop this tactic from being viable in a tactical-type game.
I know I'm probably the resident apologist/fan for CoD games, but i'm enjoying the hell out of this already and feel it's a step above PUBG already even with some of the issues it has. This just 'feels' good.
I’d agree with those points. I had much more honest fun playing this than I have at PUBG. The speed of the game helps. I can see some tweaking needed, but I think it’s starting on a very solid foundation. I don’t even mind getting killed in this game because the action doesn’t stop from the moment you drop; I’ve done stuff the entire time. No 10 minute search for a gun or running before you see one person. I get my graphics issues worked out, I can see myself playing a lot of this game.
I really hope the whole "Party Full," "Lobby is Unjoinable" thing works itself out before launch. Four of us wasted a good 10 minutes all trying to join up with each other, only to get frustrated and quit.
Beta code - pls post if you claim: TZSY-9T8XR-FSBV
Enjoying this game. Lot more action than pubg. Easy to find equipment quickly and fire fights happen right away in squad mode. Fun.
I'm feeling dumb. The open beta started this morning, right? I'm not seeing any way to access it without redeeming a code, which I thought was only for early access to the beta.
edit: ah, have to have battle.net the app, not the website.
Enjoying it a lot so far and looking forward to release. I think they have a good thing going for this and it will be fun to see how they expand it.
