NFL 2018: Week 1 Thread (Sort of)

Chiefs force a three and out and Tyreek Hill proceeds to return the punt for the first Chiefs TD of the season. That’s how an NFL Sunday needs to start!

Pat who?

OMG Tyrod Taylor throws the ball up for an INT and blows the chance to get into game winning FG range.

As bad as that was, Buffalo is looking far worse for getting rid of him. At least Cleveland is still taking the game into OT.

Fitting end for Giants...ugh

Mahomes to Hill for his first TD pass of the season. At 58 yards, that is his second 50+ yard TD of the day, giving him 12 so far in his career.

Russell Wilson sacked on play #1. Your Seattle Seahawks!

Such a Giants way to lose. Some things to like, a good number of things not to like as a Giants fan.

I've never lost an eliminator pool in 1st round...until this year. Thanks a pant load, Saints.

Mariota banged up.

Gabbert warming up.

Your turn, Titans!

And Mariota's back before someone could link to the Real American song.

James Conner leading the week in rushing so far.

Not going to help Le'Veon Bell's holdout any.

Boswell missed the OT field goal in the rain.

Browns still alive.

Chargers try to draw the Chiefs offsides on a 4th and 2. The problem? So much of the stadium is Chiefs fans, and they made enough noise that Rivers couldn’t use a hard count. Woot!

Who knew moving away from your fanbase could ruin your homefield?

Cleveland hits Roethlisberger and the ball pops out! Got the ball back with less than a minute in OT! They're probably not gonna lose!

Browns line up for the game winning field goal...

... and it's blocked!

Browns gonna snatch a tie from the jaws of victory.

BROWNS DIDN'T LOSE!

It's a new era!

Hill makes an amazing catch, fighting off two defenders, only to land on his head, and has not yet returned.

The Browns are just amazing in every single way.

The Browns are +5 in takeaways today. Since the Browns returned to the NFL, teams with a turnover margin of +5 or better in a game are 132-4-1. The Browns are responsible for two of those losses and the tie.

Janikowski is a fat f**k.

I gotta figure he's plenty strong though. Who cares if he doesn't have abs. I'll bet Blair Walsh has abs.

Anybody notice in the Corona ad how much Tony Romo looks like Steve Guttenberg?

Didn't they read the rules? You're supposed to wait until Week 2 to tie.

They already topped last year's record. Without winning.

Chiefs open up the second half with a 7 first down drive, which is crazy. Ends with Mahomes’ second TD of the day, a shuffle pass to D’Anthony Thomas from inside the 5.

Chiefs up 24-12.

Chiefs defense is back in full bend mode again.

Who does Philip Rivers like to throw to? Chiefs defenders!

Rivers threw 10 into last year, and the Chiefs had 6 of them. The Chargers were rolling, but the bend did not break.

Jumping on the Mahomes bandwagon. Makes it much easier that he's about to turn 23 throws lasers and the rest of that division is so easy to loathe.

f*ck the Broncos

Mahomes throws his third to FB Anthony Sherman on a wheel route for 36 yards.

31-12 Chiefs. I nearly sat Mahomes for Prescott today. Whew!

As lopsided as the score was , I’m not terribly optimistic about Baltimore this year given the anemic run game.

f*ck the Broncos :D

It was a little nerve wracking, because he’s young, slings the ball around, and is a real turnover risk. Really thought this could be a painful learning experience of a season with a weak defense and possibly playing from behind a lot.

Today has a lot of Chiefs fans breathing easier.

Even if you're correct, you're perfectly encapsulating what a true Ravens fan is like. Even when they win its never good enough.

Granted, blowouts don't show much of anything especially when Buffalo is clearly tanking this season in order to rebuild their offense next year. I expected more from their D though.
