NFL 2018: Week 1 Thread (Sort of)

Pages

Maybe I will try to have a write up each week about each game, but I don't have time this week. For now, people can come here for Week 1 discussion.

As far as weekly picks, I created a Yahoo Group for Weekly picks:

I had to make it up to you for not making a GWJ Fantasy Baseball League this year

I just need a place I can go the next two weeks while I'm doing family stuff on Sundays with the wife and kids and need highlights of the NFL action.

At least I'll be able to see Prime Time games.

Yahoo?

Hmm....

And that's not counting the blatant PI during the Falcons first trip to the red zone.

But no leading with the helmet penalties. Nuts.

My favourite was the penalty where someone tried to unscrew Darren Sproles' head to see if there was candy inside.

I was sure glad to find Black Panther on Netflix last night.

I am surprised it didn’t come off

I wasn’t going to complain, until I got redirected to the fake Amazon ad twice.

So I made an ESPN version. I set it to drop the worst week, so it gives folks time to jump in next week if necessary.

We can also agree to just pick the 5 games we decide to go with, but I can’t force it.

If someone has a better site, or if Legion can get the original going, I’m okay for changing. Just wanted to have a better site.

I’ve used Yahoo for a long time, but they did get kind of sketchy over the last couple years, forcing us to move the college basketball pick to ESPN.

Kirk Cousins seems pretty happy with this new offense.

Who had Ryan Fitzpatrick to DeShaun Jackson going off without a hitch?

Stop me if you've heard this one before: Bortles throws an ugly INT.

I took DeSean in like 3 fantasy leagues. He was ridiculously undervalued this year.

Bortles throws an ugly INT who?

Bortles throws an ugly INT... to Janoris Jenkins, who he tries to throw another INT to on this last drive, but Jenkins couldn't hang on.

Also, Andrew Norwell has been steamrolled this game. Jaga not getting great return on that $66m investment so far.

Richard Sherman recovers fumble, hands it to Garoppolo on his way off the field.

These feels.

Kittle looks like a great addition for the Niners. Glad the CPU added him to my roster. He could get some flex starts this season if he can this against the Vikings. Probably should have started him over Alfred Morris.

Houston's offense is terrible because their line is terrible.

Cleveland still doesn't appear to have a good offense. Shocking.

Fournette already injured.

Bortles went from 3-of-7 to 12-of-17. Doing less terrible when not targeting Janoris Jenkins.

I was not drinking the kool-aid last year but this Jimmy G fellow can play quarterback. Probably going to take his first loss today but you can build a team around this guy.

Alfred Morris coughs it up at the goal line.

Niners need something for short yardage besides ramming Morris into a pile.

Giants best offensive weapon today is the Jacksonville defense. I've lost track of the penalty yards.

The Jaguars best defensive weapon is the Giants offense. So much for all those offensive weapons.

Of yeah, and f*** Erik Flowers.

Niners DBs need to turn their heads.

Jags best offensive weapon is the Giants D not knowing Bortles can run.

Ladies and Gentlemen: Saquon Barkley.

Wow.

Nathan Peterman benched already. Josh Allen in. 1-of-4 with 3 sacks.

Meanwhile, Flacco tearing up their D.

Gonna be fun to watch that game replay.

This is the longest Miami has held a lead for a while.

Jimmy G gonna have a lot to look at on this game tape.

Too many self-inflicted wounds.
