You have to give us a minute after our off season drama to settle things down.

We hung in for a half, anyway.

Well, my Vols are gonna Vol... we've got ETSU next week so that should be an easy W.

this week's highlights: Georgia-South Carolina at 3:30 and USC-Stanford at 8:30. Some of y'all might like Penn State-Pitt at 8. (It's rivalry week already, huh.)

That's not too bad for a week full of lopsided matchups.

Ok, now it's confirmed that someone has killed Enix, replaced him, and is trolling us.

Texas A&M is hosting Clemson at 7pm Eastern, and if you don't think that's a big game, take it up with the folks at ESPN - College GameDay is in town for it!

Whoops! You're right. And I'll totally watch that game, too. (I'll probably flip between that and USC/Stanford, tbh.)

I was looking at the ESPN schedule and I must have dozed off when I hit SC State/Central Florida and not woken back up till I hit SE Louisiana/LSU.

Week 2 has enough interesting games late in the day but there are truly some stinkers on the schedule.

That URL is for a page, not an image. Notice the lack of a .png or .jpg.

The URL you're looking for is: https://i.imgur.com/DkgUwDK_d.jpg

So Kevin Sumlin's Arizona just got obliterated by Houston (where he coached before us). Ags are taking this to mean that he was holding us back, and Jimbo is totally gonna whip that Tiger a$$ tonight!

Louisville in lightning delay. Guess it's good I didn't go to the game. Back home this week for a visit and baby shower.

Think the kid got enough?

And yes two sizes of pink shoes.

Needs more Pitino autographs on the clothes.

FSU survived?

Louisville put their backup QB in after a 3 hour lightning delay in the 3rd quarter. Suddenly offense lit, 24 points in 4 drives, 10 minutes. We may have a QB controversy brewing.

Ugh. FSU is... Not very good. I didn't want to overreact last week, and VT may actually be good, but damn if my Noles are just bad on all facets of the game. Clemson is going to absolutely destroy us.

At least Kentucky finally broke their three decade losing streak to Florida.

Kentucky finally managed to close one out against the Gators and my Vols won a football game 59-3, I don't care who it was against that's a good Saturday as far as I'm concerned.

Condolences to the A&M fans on here, that was a tough one. But holy crap... how bout Herm Edwards crew, who saw that coming?

Honestly, was talking about Herm with my dad a couple of weeks ago. Unlike most retired coaches, I think Herm came back for all the right reasons.

My dad thinks it was probably a Charlie Weiss size mistake hire, but I think his schtick is tailor made for college football. He can be cheesy AF, but he believes that stuff. And grown ass men may tune him out, but I think it’s exactly the message college players can rally around.

I always liked him, even if he was one of those predictably bad hires the Chiefs made. So I’m rooting for the guy.

I'll never not Like that Herm clip.

Hey Fed, congrats on the game. I know you would rather have the win, but I don't think that anyone (outside of College Station) really thought you guys could stay close, much less pull off the win. That kid Mond looks to be the real deal. Now go beat Bama! (Sorry manta)

As for my team.... whooo boy. It's gonna be a long year. They are just not good in pretty much every aspect of the game. The DBs were supposed to be the shining star of the team and they just got torched for almost 500 yards passing. I realize it's a young team with a new coach installing a new system, but I am having trouble finding 6 wins on this schedule. Should be an, ahem, interesting year.

At least Kentucky finally got the Gator off of their back, so there's that...

I can't say I have a super-good feeling about the ACC this year.

Clemson might turn out to be OK, assuming that Texas A&M is a lot better than its non-ranking suggests (and the Aggies looked good Saturday).

VT stomped my I-AA school Saturday.

And then ... NC State might turn out to be OK. Carolina is terrible, and Wake and Duke are Wake and Duke. Maybe Miami?

Nah, pretty sure Miami is ass as well. Really looks like it may just be Clemson and VTech that are good. (I think Clemson will be very good. Kyle field isn't an easy place to play)

Thanks for the kind words, Abu.

Kyle Field was absolutely rocking on Saturday night in spite of the rain. Really proud of the team for hanging in there and very nearly tying it up at the end. If Clemson is really number two, then we're a top ten team at worst. It will be interesting to see how their year plays out.

No one expected us to make much noise this year or next, when we'll be at Clemson and add Georgia from the East. Everyone has been looking to 2020. Very pleased to see how well we're doing so far.

Hurricane Florence updates:

UNC-Central Florida and NC State-West bygod Virginia are both off for Saturday. No word yet on whether they'll be rescheduled.

Wake Forest-BC will kick off at 5:30 p.m. Thurs (2 hours earlier). It's also the ESPN Thursday night national game, so plan accordingly.

Update: East Carolina-Virginia Tech is canceled, too.

I thought quality losses only count if you lose to an SEC school? Cal plays #20 Oregon, #10 Washington, #22 USC and #9 stanfurd. Hopefully lose all 4 of these by less than a TD and we can finally punch our ticket to the Rose Bowl!

HAHA, you stole Slick Willy Taggert from us. He is a great recruiter, but in the one year he was at Oregon I was becoming convinced he wasn't a very good coach. The guy never makes halftime adjustements and the only reason he had any success the 1 year he was here was because of how good Herbert is.

That was a big game for NCSt

Oh Carl, haven't you learned we have an answer for everything? In these situations we say "Clemson is basically an SEC team".

We used to say that about FSU. Between the two of them, they've helped to diversify the SEC's national championships of late!

I’ve seen this before from other Oregon fans when I was reading up on coach Taggert. If the adjustment issue is true, hopefully he can learn from one of the best ever in Coach Bowden

He has a long way to go from the mess that Jimbo left. We haven’t had much of an o-line in the last two years and our d-line has been spotty too. Jimbo was really good at recruiting the skill positions. Who knows, he might have brought in a few more linemen last year if he didn’t quit recruiting halfway through the season

Coach Taggert seems to be trying to make changes, but we may break our bowl streak this year. I just hope that FSU gives him some time as it looks like he truly wants to be in Tally as he told everyone that it was his dream job.

Your highlights for Week 3 are ... eh, not much.

In order:
1. Weather Channel coverage of Hurricane Florence
2. LSU-Auburn (3:30, CBS); that's your must-watch
3. USC-Texas (8 p.m. Fox)

I guess Alabama-Ole Miss (7 p.m., ESPN) might be interesting for a quarter or two. I might hate-watch Ohio State-TCU (8 pm, ABC). Houston-Texas Tech (4:15, Fox) might be interesting if you like offense and/or hate defense.

Honestly, I'm having trouble watching college football these days. I hate too many schools for being run by sh*tty people who do sh*tty things.

Yeah the new Michigan State stuff this week is beyond horrible.

They and Baylor should just take a break from all sports for a few years.
