Anticheat is up an running. We will continue to upgrade it, and keep SCUM as cheat free as possible!

P.S - Also using exploits will be considered cheating and can result in a
ban.

Server admin controls are also added.

Sentries got nerfed a bit. (Longer reload times, bigger shooting cone, bigger chance to miss)

Fixed ammo exploit bug when using ammo directly from searched objects.

Equipped items are now destroyed when prisoner is destroyed.

Added natural attenuation for voice chat - Reduced radius for bullet flyby sounds.

Fixed bug that sometimes made mouse cursor disappear on the spawn screen

Fixed being able to commit suicide while dead.

Disabled chat and mic icon in singleplayer.

Puppet should now spawn proper meat after chopping, Calorie intake of human meat and puppet meat should now be correct

Server password access is thread-safe now.

Potential memory leak fix for master server.

Refresh button will be greyed out until we received the server list or timed out.

Server browser filtering and pinging improvements.

Adjusted AK47 run animation.

Added search to server browser.

Airport Hangar: Doors oppened (now sentries can get in)

Airport - Added Danger volumes (Once you enter the danger volume sentries will start looking for you, and if they see you they dont warn you but start shooting immediately)

Also added a Bug section on steam threads so check that out and report all bugs you find there!

Love that they are working on things but I really want mech's back to how they were. Mech's are pretty much a joke now. You zig zag run and you can pretty much ignore them.

The rest very happy about.

I haven't tried dealing with the Mechs since the update but I feel that they weren't fair. Sometimes they would see me from their sides which makes it hard to know when you are safe or not. They also tend to notice you even if it is only a few pixels on the top of your head in their line of sight. I would like it to be a bit easier to skirt around them, but make it hard when they do detect you.

I don't mind that they nerfed the sight on them. The issue is they nerfed both Sight and Accuracy. So now that are easier not to be seen but it also doesn't matter if you are.

I think they should of only nerfed the vision cone.

Also a side note of the "issue" is they just need to fix the thigns it can see through.

also you can now craft 9mm

I am dling as I write this. I hemmed and hawed about getting it, but after watching several videos about it and the amount of work that went into detailing, I figured wth.

I've already gotten my 20$ from it and it's only going to get better!

Yeah I read that’s a good route to take. I didn’t listen to that and got 1 shotted by someone when I had no clue how to even make a back pack or find ammo for the right weapon. Lots to learn but looks like a keeper so far.

When you are low geared, don't forget to use voice chat. Sometimes you can convince someone to not attack by saying "I just spawned, have nothing".

So after playing far too much Last week/weekend my thoughts are this.

As most have said that played both this simply is a better DayZ.

The UI
The UI is confusing and annoying. However, once you learn it you can do everything pretty fast. Certainly plenty of bugs but most are not game breaking or major.

Networking
Networking could certainly use some improvements. The biggest problem is it seems very inconsistent. Some times I see other players clearly fine fights with slight delay. Last night cow and I were in an event and both being on good internet connection on east coast server (which we are both near) he was jumping all around. It really depends on person whether I would consider the game current playable because of this in current state. I am fine with it but something to be aware of.

Loot quantity
Developer has certainly been making some major changes in loot drops and getting better.
Examples of changes I have noticed. Day 1/2 general towns had nearly nothing. Now you can get a decent amount of random packaged/canned foods and metal/clothing etc. First 1 -3 days I was finding SVD's pretty often ( In bunkers/other military spawns). Yesterday I played a lot on two servers and never found 1 SVD. However, I found a lot more 9mm and other boxes of ammo.

Loot Balance
Here is one of the current issues. Which is just a content issue and I am sure is coming. Currently their is 8 rifles roughly. However, you can only mount optics (currently 4x/8x) to Ak47, AKM, and SVD. That being said those 3 rifles are vastly above all others. Also just a lack of different items. It does not really take long to be fully loaded once you know what you are doing and can successfully loot bunkers.

Personally I will probably play pretty heavy for a week or two more. However, Then I think just the lack of loot diversity and things to go for I will probably take a break. However, 100% I will be back once they add more content/items. They need some rare chase items to be added in like NVG's and super rare weapons. Don't blame them at all for not having this yet though (NVG are in event mode but as of now have not seen 1 person have them on stream or reddit etc.). Also hoping to have some network improvements and memory leaks fixed.

Patch notes. They increased Mech Accuracy again but left vision nerfed. Exactly what i was hoping for.

Here are the new patch notes! A lot of goodies for everyone. And yes we are working on the server lag as we speak, we just want to make sure it comes out in the best shape as possible. Its on top of our priority list!

The game should be compatible with ultra wide displays now.
Fixed ultra wide (and super ultra wide) scaling on server browser.
Lowered ambient volume of character creation menu ambient sound.
Made chat scrollbar more responsive.
Made chat close on enter if input box is empty.
Fixed bug with ammo duplication when stored in object and using search object over and over.
Fixed weapon scope duplication when dragged from one rifle onto the other and relogging.
Tweaked spawn rate. You should encounter more animals now.
Fixed weapon spawn rotation. You wont be aiming in your head anymore.
Significantly increased hearing range of gunshot sounds.
Fixed equipment layer for bags. (You could have carried more than 1 bag, now you can not)
Added an extra inventory slot to woodcuter shirts.
Fixed a bug where you could respawn before the timer hit zero.
Add 8 inventory slots on bulletproof vests.
Increased animal health and varied it more. (spear normally makes animal bleed severely but its the most common hunting weapon, guns kill it instantly)
Possible fix in underground bases that caused teleporting to surface,collision problem. Needs further testing.
Possible animal despawning bug fix. Animals used to despawn on random moments, after player interaction.
Added player killed audio event and player lost audio events to sentry.
WIP master server improvements. (Server browser should be more responsive)
Sentry now misses less bullets.
Tree bark rope is now made from short wooden sticks. Before was long wooden sticks.
Reduced needed skill level to craft a fire drill.
Fixed metal scrap making motion noise sound while equipped in hands.
Reduced inventory size for barbed wire from 2x2 to 1x1.

Gunshot audio ranges up significantly is good. I think we couldn't hear a gunshot from only 100m away before.

The mech's having a "player killed" and "player lost" sound will change how we raid bunkers and bases.

Player killed/lost. Yes and no. Problem is here you still need to always assume they had a friend near so even if they are killed you need to assume there are more guarding their friends bodies.

Of course, but it does change how we interpret information. Even gives us a motivation to see if we can loot him.

FYI latest update caused a player wipe. Not sure on boxes but expect them also. Bound to happen in EA i'd expect more but they said they will do it as little as possible.

I hopped on the server that you gave the IP for, Ranalin, just to check it out but I wasn't able to stay on for more than a few minutes. Do you all have a specific day/time that you meet up? Personally, I won't be able to be on Mon or Tues for sure since I have class on those nights, but I can hop on Friday evenings and probably another evening.

First week we had people every night. I'll be on but not on a set schedule. I hopped on 1 hour early yesterday after work and 1 hour later. Music/Cow were on most of the night it looked. Another issue a few other big things are out recently Destiny 2 expansion, Battle field V beta, and Spiderman on Friday. Also the game is very EA and content is currently limited. Yesterday, was a wipe and people thought i might be disappointed. I was actually the opposite because I was actually running out of things to do. The game is great but it is limited on loot/content at the moment. However, with how fast the developers are going on patches I have no doubt in a few months their will be tons more.

Yea super deep into the BFV beta, but plan to jump back in to check out the changes.

I'm excited for the wipe. The top players on the server (which we've fought multiple times) got that way due to exploiting the ammo dupe bug. So they fixed the exploit and removed their stockpile so everyone is back on an even keel.

Or in this case a group of 10...

we fought 5 or so of them one night and pretty much had them wiped but due to the spawn on squad mechanic we ended up losing over all even though we got the most kills. Then a night or two after when the exploit was going we died to them again just due bullet volume and i had a lucky spawn so tracked them for awhile and watched them kill off 4 mechs in like 30 minutes... That's a minimum of 2.5k+ bullets used so the wipe was definitely needed.

At the moment i'll probably be into the BFV beta, but who knows. I'm wanting to get to a minimum of rank 10 with the classes to try out their weapons, and unlock the weapons all the way.

I am not sure those 2 groups are related. None of the names I saw either time were related. That very well could of been a legit group the first night. I do feel we got screwed by the fame point system but overall have nothing against those 5 guys we fought. We were just out fame pointed. The second group as you said was certainly exploiting.

I'm sure a lot of people run in groups of 4-5 and i'm not going to group them into one collective group just because we faced them in the same area of the map. Pretty popular area.

They were... Kazar and i both recognized his name and he was talking sh*t in chat to confirm it.

I guess I'm going to get dragged into another survival game. lol
