All those QB words and no mention of Bridgewater.

Los Angeles Kiss in the Arena league

Sure that's not the Lingerie League?

No they're the Los Angeles Temptation, god don't you know anything?

You shamed me into reading the wikipedia article on the Lingerie Football Lea - sorry the Legends Football League. I now know more about it than I ever wanted to know.

You gotta take snaps as the starter to be interesting.

Yeah if he was a Jag, he'd be on the highway to interesting. But stuck behind Brees, who has missed a grand total of 3 games in the last 14 years, probably not gonna be interesting in 2018.

The wounds are still fresh, give him time to heal.

Bridgewater?

Did Russell Wilson die?

I think Legion overlooked him. *rimshot*

Spoiler:

You know, because Wilson's short.

Just looking at NFL schedules now and it looks like the Bills have a whole lot of ow lined up for the first three weeks.

Ravens
Chargers
Vikings

With a rookie Josh Allen throwing into those defenses, I think it is probably a good time to buy Ben Gay futures.

I'm attempting to stream defenses who are going up against the Jets or Bills. Seems like a good plan to me!

This is why they’re sacrificing Nathan Peterman to the football Gods. He “won” the starting job in as much as the Bills have potentially the worst offensive line in the past 5 years to go with a WR corps that is awful. You throw Peterman to the defensive wolves and bring Josh Allen in so he doesn’t get completely broken

Also re: “a lot of good young qbs” I don’t think this is the case at all. I haven’t done the research but my hypothesis is you’ve had a monstorous influx of young, talented offensive coaching minds into the game who make the most of the QB talent they have.

I think QB talent is essentially constant (except for the great one or two every 5 years or so) and it’s the coordinators and coaches who either ram a square peg into a round hole or change their philosophy.

I’m actually working on a research project to evaluate the impact of coordinator changes on year over year performance

I think it has more to do with the changes to the rules favoring QBs.

QBs are playing longer because you can't hit them like before. Joe Montana could have played until 40 too if he didn't get the hell beaten out of his back. More guys are physically able to remain on the field and in the position. I don't think Drew Brees could have survived the 1970s.

Beyond that, the emphasis on downfield contact has made passing numbers explode. When you make something easier, it doesn't mean that every participant linearly improves at the same rate. In fact, often it means the opposite: it has a compressing effect. Players who would have stood out before because they could thrive in the less favorable conditions now find those traits less relevant, and thus less useful for separating from the pack.

I’m really going to regret drafting Bell, aren’t I?

I don't think so, but I hope so.

We should talk.

Hard Knocks:

Spoiler:

As befitting an HBO television show, all the people on the bubble you were invested in didn't make it.

TIL: The Lions have gone four seasons without having a 100 yard performance from a RB.

That last 100 yd rushing game was November 28, 2013, a Thanksgiving game, and the runner was Reggie Bush.

Wow. I went to look at numbers and before Bush you have to go back to Kevin Jones in 2004 to find another thousand yard rusher for the Lions.

In 2017 they only went over 100 yards rushing twice as a team.

Jeez. If I were that unconcerned about the rush, I would bring.....

Yeah, we get it shoved down our throats every broadcast.

Have to run the ball to have a 100 yard rusher.

Lions were 7th in offensive scoring last year. I don't think they're missing much. Having Stafford throw the ball 200 times a game is how their offense works. They need more of an impact player in their receiving corps, but a rotational backfield is fine.

Week 1?

I mean, Thursday games don't really count anyway. Especially when they're rain delayed.

Dat's da joke.

Still no red zone offense for Atlanta. Maybe a running back that weighs more than 210 pounds would be worth rostering.

The "green zone" field overlay can go the hell away.

That totally wasn't a catch but who challenges a 4 yard catch at this point in the game?
