Foles looked like crap.

Eagles O almost entirely took the night off. It was basically the Eagles 2nd string against the Browns 1st string D. So, yeah, we saw the Jeff Fisher version of Foles last night.

And Baker Mayfield may have just gotten a promotion.

Edit: Welp, never mind that.

And good thing as Baker ain't ready yet, by a long shot.

No, the long shot is this guy, and in my Madden-verse, he got cut by Cleveland.

Pat Mahomes looked excellent today, throwing 18/24 for 196 yards, 1 TD, and zero picks. He started 7/7 before smartly throwing the ball away on his next two throws. He missed on a second TD after defensive holding wasn’t called on a ball Robinson would have gotten to.

His TD pass was after reading a blitz and hitting Kareem Hunt in stride.

The defense still looks awful. The run game was non-existent

RG3 definitely didn't help either his chances of making the team or his trade stock last night. Shame too. I really want him to do well.

Lamar Jackson, otoh, showed some of the potential that prompted the Ravens to pick him up in the first round. He still has loads of work to do, but he showed promise.

The Ravens second team defense still looked pretty darned good against the Dolphins' starters. That defensive backfield is looking stacked. Hell, it is going to be tough paring down the defensive side of the bench at all.

One more Draw Play comic, for Jayhawker:

So the Jags' injury luck with WRs continues, as Marqise Lee will miss the season with a knee injury.

Admittedly, the knock against Lee (and, say, drafting him in FF) is that he's injury prone. Don't think anyone expected him to blow out his knee, but...

He could be a Washington RB! I hear they're all hurt.

Nice.

OBJ gets a five year, $95 million deal. $65 million guaranteed. Also guaranteed is that your social media timelines are going to be filled with videos of everyone in the locker room dancing for joy.

It'll be interesting to see what the guarantees actually look like on that deal. Kind of like the Mike Evans deal that had $55m "guaranteed" but only $38m of actual guarantees, the rest being salary that turns into guaranteed money if he's on the roster at certain points in time to trigger them (in other words, not guaranteed).

Still, it sounds like it will leapfrog the Evans deal by a good margin.

$41 mil fully guaranteed
$65 mil guaranteed for injury

So when is cut-down day? Soon, right?

Sorry bro, you've already been released.

The Factory is chewing up another individual:

Mychal Kendricks admits to participating in insider trading

The Browns issued a statement saying Kendricks will not join the team in Detroit for Thursday’s game and that they have been in communication with the league.

Kendricks’ attorney told Philly.com that his client is expected to formally plead guilty in the coming weeks. It’s not clear what kind of punishment the government is seeking in Kendricks’ case. The linebacker could also be subject to discipline under the NFL’s personal conduct policy as it covers activity that “undermines” the integrity of the league, teams and/or players.

Guess signing him for cheap wasn't such a steal for the Browns.

Oh my god that is just so... Browns.

I wonder what team knew what, and when. It didn't happen overnight, and Kendricks said he's cooperated with the investigation "since the beginning".

I think they all knew, which is how he ended up on the Browns.

In less seriousness, maybe he chose the Browns to get some tips from Haslam on how to avoid jail time.

Packers traded Brett Hundley to the Seahawks for an as-yet undisclosed 2019 draft pick.

DeShone Kizer won the QB2 spot in Green Bay.

Daaaaamn

Not surprising. I'd take Kizer over One-Read Hundley any day of the week.

The Rodgers deal has conflicting numbers and lengths depending on the report. Waiting for something firm, but it's going to be the new watermark whatever it is.

Agreed. And that's coming from someone that was down on Kizer since before draft day. But there's more potential there. It's hard to see Hundley's performance last year as being anything less than his ceiling.

Legion ain’t getting Teddy!

I love my team.

I hope the entire state of Wisconsin has been saving its deer-antler spray for Aaron. He will need every bit of it.

quote =/= edit.

Twitter says that Teddy Bridgewater is going to New Orleans.

That's probably a good landing spot for him except for the fact that Drew Brees will probably play another 10-12 years because why not? It's not like there are a lot of other jobs out there for finger-licking midgets with a quick release and good accuracy.

So many Jags fans are delusional about where Blake Bortles really is as a quarterback. It's amazing how much they've actually blocked from memory.

Don't worry, they'll remember this year.

That's... pretty much how I feel this year is going to go. I think the Jags are going to underperform, from a combination of Bortles being Bortles, and defensive regression to the mean (even though I still expect they'll be top 10 at worst, but 268 points against is an incredibly hard number to sustain).

Oh, and speaking of the Saints, Deadspin's WYTS on New Orleans is downright cruel.

Spoiler:

It's pretty much the Stephon Diggs catch in the playoffs over and over and over again hahahahaha
