Battlefield V - Catch All

You got charged for having the audacity to call for support!

Kidding aside, that stinks! Hopefully it gets corrected soon.

This game is crazy beautiful. I have a 1070 and with the default settings i feel like i'm playing in a movie. Super smooth.

Gameplay feels good too so far. Conquest feels better. Vehicles are not overpowered. The new operations is only 2 stages in this test, but there's a lot of back/forth and close matches. You have to be tactical and work as a group or you get demolished. This is just a step above and beyond what BF1 is. I'm very excited to see the rest of it.

How does is compare to BF3 or BF4 gameplay style and map size?

Can only compare the conquest piece and maps feel bigger and more diverse. Gameplay, the point system is back to what it was in BF4 or closer to it at least. Gunplay is all new and more like BF1 in comparison for that. Each gun i used felt unique and took me a few rounds to get used to them. Not having the Q spotting is weird, but extremely satisfying.

Next Alpha is on the 14th.

No invite this round either. Frustrating from someone who owns every BF game since 1942 including hardline. Hope those in it are enjoying it.

I agree.

Are we sure that the invites already went out?

Photoshop!

(kidding)

People shouldn't feel too jealous. This seems MUCH buggier than the last run. HUD keeps disappearing and when flying a plane you'll just randomly explode for no reason.

That's a feature not a bug!

Looks fantastic. The 'Battle Royal' bit feels cobbled on at the end. Could have been it's own thing.

Yup..yup...yup

Yeah I will have to see more on the battle royal but that isn't really why I play battlefield anyway. As long as Conquest is satisfying everything else is a cherry on top to me.

I'm probably up to a dozen times watched for the trailer. It seems to get better each time.

I'll buy it b/c Battlefield, but BF1 was my least favorite of the series. I just like modern settings better.

In case folks didn't catch at the end of the video. Open beta starts 9/4

I am so ready for this. Been wanting a new Battlefield game in WW2 setting for years.

I'll try the beta, and if by some miracle I'm still playing BF1 when V drops, I'll pick it up.

BFV offers opportunities to support even more now that some classes can build structures and ammo is more of a need due to less ammo carried when one spawns. Machine guns like the MG34 and 42 are better served a bit back from the line adding to suppression etc. So there will be a need for support whether it's the actual class or Medic, tank killer etc. They are also slowing things down a bit including movement. Glad you are willing to give it a go.

Honestly, I'll be surprised if I wind up in at launch. My history with MP games is well documented. It's possible that my new approach of only playing a round or two at a time, stopping before the inevitable frustration sets in will keep me going, but I still wouldn't bet money on it.

To be fair the best time for people who only want to dabble in a FPS is at launch. If folks wait till the end of a life cycle they're playing primarily with the hardcore folks who know how many steps/seconds there are between objectives.

Oh, I'm aware. Unfortunately, right at launch is also the most expensive time to get it, so dabbling is very pricey.

There's also an argument to be made that a major discount also brings in a wave of people like me who just want to dabble and don't want to pay full price for that.

I'm in, if it launches and actually delivers the team based shooter that it's promising this will be my go to game. Very interested in support weapons actually delivering capability. I love the BF games but they all seem to eventually devolve into speed based SMG and shotty map runs.

BF1 was not like this and there's a huge variety of weapons for all classes now. I think in the beta we're going to be able to play with the company/weapon mods.
