Does that offer still works?

I believe Epic has disabled that tier of purchase as it was being abused by key resellers.

I did purchase the save the world of the game.

So far, it's Orcs must die, dungeon defender and Payday2 merge together. At least, for me.

I just love it. I don't know why I waited so long to get it.

Now, I just wonder how they will handle the game for early access buyer. Will instill received daily quest that reward v-buck?

I highly suggest you look up effective trap tunnel designs. There's a lot the game doesn't tell you about how to use traps effectively. One thing people miss often is that if non-ranged husks that are knocked into pits they can't get out of (basements of houses/buildings with the stairs removed) they will instantly die (ranged husks will still use their ranged attacks). Another thing is how to effectively path husks to your traps They take into account how long it'd take them to knock down walls vs walking around and pick the quickest route. If there's a player nearby they'll chase the player though, so it's very annoying to have people stand in front of the traps you've built because they want to shoot everything. Most missions don't really require super effective trap design, but I always find it incredibly satisfying to be able to sit back and watch them work.

The daily quest isn't going away, nor the alert rewards for V-Bucks which you'll see in higher zones. In STW, v-bucks are used for the pinatas which are necessary to increase in power as fast as you progress through the story, so if there wasn't a steady flow of free v-bucks I think players would revolt.

If you've not already been warned, don't put anything in the collection book until you have two of the item. You can't use or craft things that are in there. They are coming out with a way to take things out of the collection book, but it'll be an added expense.

Add everyone in the google list, and added myself as well.

Thanks for the tips all.

So excited about gyro aiming on Switch with season 5! Has anyone played around with it? I'm finding it a lot harder to work with than Splatoon. Even with aim assist off, it feels a bit clunky.

Best setup I've found is joystick sensitivity at 7, and gyro at 0.2-0.3. Big movements with sticks, fine tune with gyro. Still feels very jittery though.

The gyro aiming sounds like an amazing addition on Switch! Fortnite and I are on a break at the moment though... Once I bought the battle pass that game became way too additive for my liking!

Surprise! Today's 5.10 patch adds in the proper Canny Valley questline for StW. The old placeholder quests and SSD quests have been split into parallel questlines, so you can enjoy the story without affecting any progress you've already made into CV or TP.

i stopped playing when I hit CV because of the lack of story, I'll have to jump back in.

They're also handing out free llamas over the next two weeks (fortnight) to celebrate the birthday. The smorgasbord llama available today is extremely nice. 6 guaranteed legendaries with choices.

Oh nice! I have had a complicated relationship with this game and have fallen off, but I think maybe I should hop back in.

Another smorgasbord today. They're really piling on the freebies for the anniversary.

I’m on a break from it too. I did 3 Battle Passes in a row. The superhero month had lots of cool skins. The current one seems way less interesting.

One big reason that I’m taking a break is that I’m terrible at the game. I really love it, but I suck. I want accurate match making. With the amount of active players, any increase in queue time would be undetectable. They could easily implement a tiered league system. Bronze, silver, gold, diamond, etc.

I read an article that blamed lack of leagues on the streamers. According to the article, Ninja threatened to quit the game if leagues were implemented. Not sure if that is accurate. It certainly is unsportsmanlike, though.

My plan is to hang onto all the V-Bucks I earned in Season 4 until I see another season that really grabs my interest. I might limit myself to one season every now and then. I just found I was checking the daily and weekly challenges a little too often and that I ended up ignoring all the other games I've yet to finish.

Thinking about it I probably have a strange attitude to Fortnite... It doesn't bother me that I sank hundreds of hours into BOTW because it's Zelda... But I'm making a point of limiting the amount of time I spend playing Fortnite... I do have young children though so getting deep into a game that I can't pause or put to sleep isn't really a smart move!

Stevin, I totally agree.

I do love how when you buy the Battle Pass, Fortnite allows you to earn enough bux in one season to buy the next season. You do have to commit to playing a lot of Fortnight. Luckily it’s a great game.

I also love that Fortnite is free of gore and is cartoon like. You can play it around kids without giving them nightmares.

I finally played today. Was at a friend's house and we had a mix of Switch and PC, but were able to team up and play. Mostly 50/50 to just get used to the game for me since I have no clue what I'm doing.

I screwed up and made a Switch account first, forgetting I had an Epic Games account way back for free Shadow Complex. So I deleted that account and linked the Switch back to my real account and started over tonight. You may have got friend requests from me on Switch earlier today and then again tonight. Sorry about that.

I'll try to link Steam and send those friend requests in the next couple days.

This thing is really fun. Not sure why I avoided it for so long.

Yeah, that's a big selling point to me too. Everything has a very 'silly' vibe. It's hard to feel intimidated by a competitive online multiplayer that has specific shortcuts for different dance moves!

Careful you don't get pulled in too deep!

Added myself to the spreadsheet.

And here's my link

I welcome any advice or tips. I'm starting to think I need to get better at building and quick.

I should do the same, nor playing right now but I will be again at some stage.

You've already mentioned 50/50, I think that's a great way to get a feel for the game without being under too much pressure. You can generally get your hands on some great weapons in that a mode that you wouldn't otherwise get to try out too.

In other modes, at first I'd suggest aiming to land somewhere that's really quiet (jump late) with the goal of just surviving as long as possible. That's a good way to get a feel for controls, movement, navigation, favourite emote, etc. At a certain stage though I think the opposite is helpful too; if you start aiming to land in a very busy spot (jump early) you'll find that your games will either be really short and you'll learn something from how you died, or you'll get better at eliminations out of necessity and learn to be better with the weapons etc. I treated it almost like a rouguelike at first and I found I learned a lot quickly enough.

I should update the spreadsheet to accommodate differentiating between Battle Royale and Save the World. I'll do that later today.

Haven't tried save the world yet. I generally enjoy co-op mode more in games that have PvP as the main draw. L4D, Splatoon 2, and several others.

Is the spreadsheet mostly for PC?

I play on Xbox. PC controls extremely differently than Xbox. I don’t think it would be worth my time to relearn the game.

Oh no, the spreadsheet is for all of us. Someone might have filtered it just to PC, but I tried to make sure to include everyone’s platform. I’m on PC and PS4, for instance.

Maybe it could be organized a little better.

Of course, if you have xbox or switch you aren't compatible with ps4.
Thanks Sony.

Save the World is an entirely different beast and your proficiency in one in one does not transfer over to the other at all. I find that if I play STW first then switch to BR, I tend to perform worse when I start with BR. And building like you would in BR is pretty much the opposite of what you should do in STW.

Been having enough fun with this that I threw them $10 for the Battle Pass.

Fun getting some new skins and having a bunch more goals to complete. Even shot some basketball last night.

Had a couple decent solo runs finishing in the top 10. Got a squad daily goal so did that a while. Some really bad ones but a couple fun ones. One run where 3 of us made it to 6th.

I really need to practice building. Have been spectating more when I die near the end. Seeing people throw up sniping towers in a couple seconds I can see how much I need to learn.

If anyone wants to team up this weekend I definitely want to play a bunch. Hit me on Steam if we're not epic friends yet.

I think it's well worth the €10 price tag. Obviously all the skins, emotes, etc. are great to have but I think the challenges are the thing that make the pass good value. I'd say the majority of the hours I put into Fortnite were spent completing Battle Pass challenges.

How are the motion controls on Switch at the moment? I heard they were great but then one of the updates changed them for the worse?

Yeah, it is fairly easy to tell when someone plays BR a lot shows up just by the way they build things, e.g. ramps in boxes, etc.

I didn't try motion. Just used pro controller last weekend and it felt good. I do like the motion on Splatoon so I should try it I guess.

Been playing on PC mostly this week though.

STW is for careful, thought-out building so your traps can do most of the work killing husks. BR is for throwing up crazy-ass haphazard structures to block shots while trying to get the high ground advantage over your opponent.

STW is what help learn how to aim in BR.

I don't like third person view, but the pace of STW help out.

I'm having a blast in squad or other mode, so send me an invite for anything!
