I'll make the clan tomorrow, once the game is released.

Let us know the name and I'll apply straight away.

I think you need 100 Fate to start a Cabal. I'll post as soon as I get it started. I don't think you can have spaces in the name so OrdosGWJ.

The campaign missions give a good deal of fate, so I can't imagine it'll take too long.

That and the game doesn't release until noon, boohoo.

Something came over me last night and I decided it was time to buy instead of waiting for the 1.0 release today.

Got it installed within an hour and took the melee Assassin specialist out for a spin. Found a game stopper within seconds of picking up my swords lol. No matter, I restarted the tutorial level but this time with the shotgun/sniper specialist assassin. Much better feel and I can actually take advantage of their unique cover system.

So overall disappointment with the lack of loots dropping from dead enemies. I do like how that discourages wasted time scavenging and comparing item stats mid mission. It’s something I’ll probably get used to soon enough. I wish the chest openings were sexier though, however the subdued presentation is so very Imperium of man...

Not sure what class I’ll pick after the big reset. I could try thto Sniper Assassin but I really liked the pairing of shotgun and sniper. The shotty proved quite the life saver for a couple boss fights already since I needed serious crowd control and could just spam grenades.

game stopper?

Don't worry, there's plenty of loots, you just get the best of it at the end of a successful mission, along with what you picked up along the way.

Hah game stopper in the sense of “oh I just picked up my first weapon and I already need to restart” - I was testing out the sword skills and my first activation of the dash attack took me behind a bunch of crates. Got stuck.

I think it is safe to say that focusing on melee may wind up being an acquired taste.

As Veloxi said you get loot drops in mission either in a later tutorial, and if not for sure when you get past the initial Martyr missions.

It depends on what you like, I guess. For me, I prefer a nice sniper rifle for range (and some neat abilities, like slowing down or pausing enemies due to suppression) and a nice, big, 2H sword for mobs of mobs, or whatever gets past the rifle.

Not sure if I could go full melee though, but the option is there.

The 2h charge ability is why i want to have it... Not only does it 1 hit at the early levels the extra movement is a huge bonus!

Oh yeah, I do love that charge ability. I also love the ability where you jump and leave a toxic cloud upon landing.

I’ll try the Sniper next. Eradicator is fun but I like the sniper rifle as my primary. The auto pistol is probably a weak comparison to the shotty but thems the trade offs for higher single target DPS.

Sniper isn't as tough as either Crusader or Psyker, but makes up for it with the dodge ability.

I'm rather fond of the clones special. So look out for that armor if you like the sniper. Or you can look out for the sniper (or I much prefer the longlas weapon) on the archetype that starts with the clones. (Send in the clones! Heh)

I am undecided with the melee assassin if I prefer the stealth or time slow armor.

I too love the hologram/clone armor. Second favorite is the time slow armor.

Read a review this morning criticizing the voice acting. To me it's suitably over-the-top Warhammer 40K. I'm already in love with the death cultist/assassin Inquisitor's delivery.

Sigh, their servers crashed. "Due to the unexpectedly high amount of players." Unexpectedly? Did you not see how many people bought your game?

Ugh, hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

I am a big fan of the melee Assault Crusader. Grenade or force field than leap in, the 360 sweep or shield slam, single target, rinse and repeat Scratching my head on the servers down already, not like they didnt know the number of people who bought the game.

I'll be going back in with a crusader focusing on the autogun. That's what clicked for me. I'm sure I'll be looking to join a cabal once I get rolling.

Everything I have seen for this game, and read in this thread, seems like it is shaping up nicely and I want to play it, but probably 2-3 months from now once they have the main bugs worked out. I do not think they are ready for launch but are doing it anyway to hit a date.

I intend to name the Cabal Ordos_GWJ, once I can finally log in and play

Watching a small-ish Youtuber trying to do a launch day stream and he's been blowing hot air for an hour straight at least. Sucks to be him. Oh well, he seems to be getting subs, donations, whatever the social media currency is.

Servers are back up, and we're all getting a free pet!

O.o My characters i made at lunch are gone...

Yup, another wipe. Hopefully the last.

It sounds interesting but might sit on the sidelines until the wrinkles get ironed out. So it's kinda like DOW2 in how you collect loot but equip it after a run?

Just played the first level. Wow it runs so much smoother so far. Looks better too, even on my older rig.

Ordos_GWJ established. To Me My Brothers!

Should see a request from me soon
