And the beta is delayed,sadly.

Up at the 23rd, at the latest it seems. Release date is unaffected.

Keep in mind the 21st was the original planned release and it was bumped to 6/5 to accommodate work on the console version.

IT'S HAPPENING!

I'm a big fan of ARPGs. Diablo 3 never really caught my fancy but over the past several years I've invested more time into Path of Exile and Grim Dawn than any other games. Can those of you who have played speculate if this game will likely scratch the itch for me?

The $50 cost is typical of a AAA title but the game isn't getting a whole lot of promotion, hype or attention. I only just heard about it a few days back. Reactions seem to be mixed but some people seem to really love it. Overall thoughts on the game would be appreciated.

I love Grim Dawn.

I love this more.

It's super violent, varied and fun. There's a ton to do even in the alpha/beta, and it hits the setting beautifully.

Get it.

Veloxi: you had said a few pages back that the game runs really well on a potato? That still hold true?

My Asus laptop is over a couple years old now, runs a modest 2GB Geforce 960M. Grim Dawn runs okay, Diablo 3 runs flawlessly as it should being such an old title now. Path of Exile runs almost as well as D3.

I have a GTX 770 and it runs fine.

I booted it up and noticed that the menus, splash screen, and Psycher art has all been redone. They also turned the chat back on and I, once again, can’t remdmber how to turn it off. Haven’t played any further than the first tutorial mission and my not get a chance given the glut of games already on my table.

I'll second the opinion that this is more fun than Grim Dawn. I enjoyed that game but I'm actively looking forward to being able to get back into this game once it's fully released. One of the things that originally drew me to Grim Dawn was the prospect of an arpg with rifles and pistols instead of just swords and bows but the guns in that game never felt that great. With Inquisitor, they make ranged combat feel good.

My biggest complaint is that I cannot get the camera to auto adjust, either it is all manual or I have not found the requisite setting.

Auto adjust in what way?

Does the PC version have full controller support?

Sure does, it's all I use.

The f*in map disappearing bug has been in since the alpha - I cant believe they still dont have that fixed. Makes me bonkers. Still love the game, but come on man.

Map disappearing bug?

Yes the map and mini map are skewed or portions are missing. It's been around since the alpha and it's incredibly frustrating for navigating.

I have to admit, I've never had that issue. What usually triggers it, if anything? A specific type of mission for example? Or is it random?

It happened to me in the first mission after getting to the command bridge.

That's so weird, I just got to the bridge today with a new toon, a Psyker, and that didn't happen with several maps today. I wonder what's causing it.

If it makes you feel any better, folks on the Steam forums and Discord are reporting the same issue, so hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

I'm not sure that NeoCore could have made a class more fun than my Crusader with a 2H Sword and A Grenade Launcher. Couple that with a personal shield and you are nearly invincible. The airburst on the grenade launcher never gets old. I wish the Sword and Board combo was better, but it just gets far outclassed by the 2 hander.

Oh and by the way the new Eisenhorn book is out. In my opinion he's the original badass Inquisitor.

Well that sounds like a delightful build. I'll have to work towards that.

And I'm still on the first Eisenhorn book! Dang.

Don't forget the short stories and the Ravenor books. Anything by Dan Abnett in the WH40K universe is solid.

Got it!

So they're saying they think they fixed the map issue internally, and it'll be in the next hotfix. I hope so!

Apparently they're working on map issues right now! Yay!

Well I was wrong, the Eviscerator 2H Chain Sword and the Heavy Bolter appear to have taken my preferred play style to 11. I think I like the Grenade Launcher from a pure visual perspective but oh man the Heavy Bolter absolutely lays down the law. You basically knockdown lock most opponents and it clears out packs pretty well. I probably wouldnt even switch to the Heavy Bolter from the Eviscerator Sword, but sometimes you just feel like killing from a distance and it feels sooo good. Doesnt hurt that I just had an orange Heavy Bolter drop at level 15.

I played a bit of crusader yesterday, fun stuff. Not sure if it'll replace my beloved assassin, but I'm looking forward to trying those bolters.

They have really captured the "mood and feel" of the WH40K world. While the maps tend to get a bit repetitive in the random missions that you do in order to find better gear, the campaign story levels are excellent. The little cut scenes and communications with various members of your retinue are spot on. The graphical details are impressive, especially on the enemies you fight. The game, like most, has its quirks/irritants, but overall I think they have something special here and given their record with improving and refining their games over time I think they have an excellent ARPG in development. Playing this game really makes me want a Pillars of Eternity/Wasteland 2 party based RPG type game in the WH40K setting.

That would be awesome or, you know, a true sequel to DoW 2.

IS ON SALE YOU GUYS!
