2018 NBA Catch-All - LeBron Fallout Edition

The NBA app crashes every time I try and stream video, so I got to... listen to the last few seconds and Dray... fumbled it? He *fumbled* it!?

Loved the way the rest of the team made up for Harden having a terrible game on offense and CP3 having a terrible first half. Gordon was fantastic. Tucker again did a lot of things besides the points he contributed. I still think we need to play Capela more.

Win on Saturday!

Saw some of the game. Really impressed with Tucker. Reminds me of Smart, making a lot of hustle plays. I would love to see a Rockets/Celtics series. Had enough of the Warriors and Cavs for the last three years.

I'd like to see a shakeup after the same matchup three times, but I don't want Houston to make the finals. I'm afraid the Celtics wouldn't have a shot, and I don't like the idea of Houston's style being rewarded. On the other hand, I've been underestimating Boston two rounds running now.

Houston/Cavs could be interesting, even if I can't stand either team.

I'm mixed on this right now. I hate the way Houston (normally) plays offense. So I would normally say I wouldn't like to see Houston in the Finals. But they're playing really good defense right now and against all odds that defense has somehow dragged the Warriors into playing hero ball as well. So I'm not sure it matters much to me which of the two teams goes to the finals at this point.

I just don't want a repeat of Cavs/Warriors again either.

Paul out for game 6

Ouch that SUCKS.

Yeah that's a big, big blow. We need Harden to have a good game to win without Paul. I heard it was the hamstring, and I'm doubtful about whether he would make it back for a game seven, or even when he'd make it back if we made the finals.

One thing's for sure, our trash talk game will suffer.

Agreed, whoever comes out of the west will be the heavy favorite, and I agree there's little chance the Celtics will prevail, but like you said they weren't supposed to make it this far.

I'd rather watch the overachieving young underdogs hustling all over the court than Lebron and a bunch of guys who can't find it in them bother to try half the time.

Also, huge Celtics fan so I'm obviously biased.

I don't think you're alone. My nightmare scenario is LeBron hoisting another trophy after carrying around a team that barely tries.

Yeah I've never really liked the Celtics but anything is better than this Cleveland team.

Ah this point, though, aren't you rooting against clothing, as Jerry Seinfeld used to say? This group of Celtics seem like great guys, they hustle and they're a cohesive team. I understand saying you don't want them to go to the Finals because they probably won't win, but I can't imagine not liking this team.

Yeah just historically, screw Boston, they've won enough.

Definitely like Brad Stevens, and cheer for Terry Rozier. So yeah, kind of mixed feelings, franchise vs current team.

But it's very easy to root against LeBron and JR "Chucker" Smith.

Jaylen Brown with the great 1st quarter.

Road teams are allowed to win in this series, right?

I would have liked to see one good road performance from the C's this year... but now it appears that it probably would not have made a difference.

I thought the Celtics played well. Hat tip to Lebron. He would not be denied tonight.

Game 7 should be fun. Playoff Celtics at home vs. elimination game Lebron.

No CP3 for Game 6, and now, no Kevin Love for Game 7 (concussion protocol).

If the Rockets & Cavs manage to make the finals, i'll be shocked (and LeBron will deserve some extra "You didn't win the MVP but we all know you're insanely good" award).

I feel like every time a star player goes down in the playoffs, any team that defeats that player's team gets a "Yeah, but" attached to their victory.

I don't think that works for Boston, if they win. Celts are missing two better guys than Love.

And even when it does apply, history forgets soon enough. 2015 Warriors don't get many Yeah, Buts by now. Nor do 2009-10 Lakers.

Overcome, Rockets, overcome!

I always thought that was silly. Injuries are part of basketball. Every roster has 15 players.

Eric Gordon is still on fire! Jury's out on whether Harden is also in his game five form - hopefully not.

Warriors look dead right now.

Harden’s form in Q1 is just fine.

Yes...yes.

Yeah. Say what you will about the Rockets offense (notably easier on the eyes with Paul out), but they’re playing hard. Warriors don’t look like a team that wants to win another title. Maybe they’re done playing together.

Just tuned in. And wow.

I have been told that 39 times four is 156.

Apparently they are only mostly dead, which also means they're barely alive.
