NFL 2018 Draft Thread

So, Mahomes figured out how to fit in with the NASCAR crowd and Kansas Speedway on Saturday. And he's gonna here about it for awhile. The T-Bones are the KC semi-pro baseball team.

My favorite response so far:

Maybe he's trying out to be a New Kid. I hear they're still touring.

I don't think I've ever even heard his name before.

He was a UDFA for the Jags in 2014, and he has now been on over 1/6 of the teams in the NFL. Jags, Eagles, Colts, Slurs, Seahawks, and now Texans.

Guys! Guys! Guys!

Guess who's going to be on "Hard Knocks" this year? The Browns!

This will end well for me, I'm sure...

Wow, and I thought last week's cancellations of Brooklyn 9-9 and The Expanse were stupid decisions in television programming.

Awesome! I may actually watch it this year!

What a gift. TheWife is going to be excited in hopes of seeing Mayfield screw up.

I mean, what's the worst that can happen? It's not like the team can win fewer games than last year.

I’m setting the DVR now!

Still the best moment in "Hard Knocks" history, but I'm betting the Browns can top it.

Kyle Shanahan named his son after Lil Wayne.

I can't believe I'm the one posting this link. These are the kinds of stories that I assumed set off alarms on Rat Boy's phone the instant they get published.

I'm assuming this means Hard Knocks is just going to be six straight hours of video of a burning dumpster.

I find it less stressful the fewer news items I get on my lock screen these days.

Nah, there's going to be footage of some solid form tackling as well.

Spoiler:

Nah, the preseason is all about hype and whatnot, it'll be good. The All or Nothing series on the regular season would be the dumpster fire. I hope they get that too.

Vikings to host Jaguars for joint practices this summer . Why is this notable? Well, the Vikings new HQ/practice facility is like ten minutes from my house. This means there's a non-zero chance I could have a Blake Bortles moment, presuming I can find the right local beach-themed bar.

I have to imagine his choices in beach bars will be slim to none, so your chances are probably 100%. You should have him sign Legion's Jamarcus jersey.

So, earlier today, Reuben Foster's ex-girlfriend testified that her accusations were false, and did so in great detail over 2 hours.

During that testimony, an interesting little factoid came out: she went to jail in 2011 for making false domestic abuse accusations against her then-boyfriend.

Separately, the police detective also acknowledged that Ennis's facial injuries were not consistent with the accusation of "8-10 punches to the face".

Up to this point, I had been leaning in the direction of the accusations still having some truth to them, even if it didn't go down exactly like the original accusation.

At this point, I don't think there is any reason to believe Foster is guilty of any domestic abuse.

As for the gun charges, we found out that both guns were purchased legally in Alabama.

Man, sounds like she's on her way back to jail.

Maybe next time he'll choose better.

How well does Flacco have to play to get his $20M payout for next year? I am concerned he will do just enough.

They'll trade him.

I honestly think it has more to do with Lamar Jackson's development. They're ready to move on.

Sorry, I just thought you said somebody was going to trade for $20 million worth of Joe Flacco.

I don't understand, he's clearly elite with a few down years. When he gets back to being elite this year he'll be trade worthy.

I have heard at least one Flacco fan say that we'll be sorry when he goes to NE and wins a Superbowl.

There are still Flacco fans? I mean, I know people don't all buy into advanced stats, but Joe Flacco's DVOA the last few years:

2017: #30, -19.2%
2016: #29, -14.6%
2015: #26, -10.5%

Even by standard stats, Flacco sucks. He had the worst yards/attempt in the league last year, below Kizer and Hundley. Ugh.

Someone just made a comparison of NFL QBs that stink, and Blake Bortles was nowhere in it.

This is the most exciting barometer of progress since the Bluth Company was elevated to a "Don't Buy".

Last year Blake Bortles played better than Derek Carr.

We can talk about 2016 Bortles if you like.
