I Saw That Years Ago - Christopher Lee wants you to meet....THE WICKER MAN

Listen http://istya.libsyn.com/ep-173-the-w...

Probably late to the party, but I'm enjoying Citations Needed after hearing it recommended by Waypoint. It's "a weekly podcast about the intersection of media, PR, and power" from a leftist perspective.

I don't know if you all take requests, but I was honestly a bit shocked that you hadn't covered The Beastmaster yet. It seems right in your wheelhouse.

(P.S. - this only followed my joy at learning you had already done Krull - what an excellent episode!)

We do take requests - though sometimes the streaming services we use make it hard to oblige.

I'll see if we can do Beastmaster. And thanks for the compliment.

I can't stop listening. Its really incredible. I've sort of tapered off on other political podcasts since discovering it.

Mission to Xyzz

If you like science fiction and you like to laugh, then this podcast is for you.

It's set in a psuedo Star Wars universe where the evil Galactic Monarchy has been finally overthrown by the Federated Alliance. A young Federated Alliance diplomat and his team have been tasked with establishing diplomatic relations with planets in the remote and crappy Zyxx Quadrant of the Tremillion Sector.

Like Welcome to the Magic Tavern and Improvised Star Trek everything about Mission to Xyzz is entirely improvised, with the core performers coming from Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC, and the end product edited down.

Unlike those podcasts, though, Mission to Xyzz is heavily produced. If you've ever listened to an episode of the Superego podcast (which you most certainly should do if you haven't) then you know what to expect: a very polished sound design, complete with layers of immersive sound effects.

I've been listening (well, watching/listening I guess) to Deadly Analysis on youtube. Really good indepth discussions of classic and modern horror movies. I like it a lot.

I Saw That Years Ago...PAPER TIGER

HEY, LISTEN!

I Saw That Years Ago - a disabled man looking for a fight in... MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL

Welp, about half of my podcast backlog is now gone, after finding out this morning Chris Hardwick is an abuser. Time to pick up a few new ones from this thread so it's not just 100% McElroys.

Meg Bashwiner, Symphony Sanders and Hal Lublin have started a Night Vale retrospective podcast, 'Good Morning Night Vale' - they're two episodes in, and it's delightful so far.

(Meg is the voice of the proverbs, Symphony is Tamika Flynn, and Hal is Steve Carlsberg)

I've been really enjoying Bad Science. Each episode they have a scientist and a comedian discuss the science of a movie.

CoatlCast just came out with its second season. It can be found on the iPhones podcast app or here, among other places.

Its a recap show where two commentators do a deep dive on each and every episode of the cult hit sci-fi show Coatl.

All of this is well and good, especially if you are into recap shows... but it becomes a lot more intriguing when you do some light googling and discover that there is no such show as Coatl.

I Saw That Years AGo - Vincent Price welcomes you into ... THE MONSTER CLUB

I Saw That Years Ago - Is David Cronenberg the scariest thing in... CLIVE BARKER'S NIGHTBREED?

I Saw That Years Ago - This what happens when cousins marry....CLASH OF THE TITANS

Michael Caine, Sylvester Stallone and World Cup winners Bobby Moore and Pele are WW2 prisoners who want to... ESCAPE TO VICTORY

Boo... Note to Self is no more.

But, HOORAY Manoush Zomorodi and her producer Jen Poyant have struck out on their own and started their own media company!

Their first podcast is called Zig Zag and it’s about them starting this new endeavor to report on tech and the media.

Instant sub for me.

I Saw That Years Ago - Kevin Bacon plays an invisible pig in... HOLLOW MAN

1Dgaf you need to stop with the movies that just make me feel old.

Me too, homeboy. Me too.

ISTYA is now on TuneIn. I don't really know what this is, but someone on XBL said I should put the show on it.

Noice! Tune-In is basically terrestrial radio stations and podcasts on demand.

Best part is that Amazon Echo owners can now say, "Alexa, play I Saw That Years Ago on Tune-In.

Ooh. Actually, I did say 'Ooh' but it came out like Kenneth Williams in the Carry On films.

I Saw That Years Ago - Dubious pumpkins, talking moose, clockwork soldiers an a new Dorothy...RETURN TO OZ

I was recently tipped off to the Art of the Score podcast. It’s about movie scores in case it wasn’t obvious. They actually describe themselves as covering movie, TV and video game scores but it’s all been movies so far from what I’ve seen. They break down different elements of the score and have lots of interesting insights that I find fascinating. Totally accessible to a non-musician like myself.
